Today on The Skid Factory Al and Woody get stuck into fabricating intercooler and exhaust piping on Dave's Vk Calais.
The turbos are removed and some Goleby intercooler couplers are welded onto the compressor housings and a pair of Go Fast Bits EX50 Wastegates are welded onto the Exhaust Housings.

Al, If your welds are crap then that's one finely polished turd. Lol Imo you preform top notch work man. You two together are a team that any motorsports program would be hard pressed to find better. Again imo. I've enjoyed watching you work over the years from my first introduction thanks to Marty and Moog over at MCM. To your current production here on the skid factory. Woody has been a wickedly awesome addition to watch work with you. And I agree with another comment that his video production skills have soared to amazing heights. Thank you all for the thousands of minutes of inspiration and knowledge that has been expressed and shared through your program. If I was a rich man I would gladly give you a blank check to watch you work and share your skills and what is clearly a passion with the world. The skid factory truly is an educational, inspirational and invaluable showing of skills. Thanks for everything and as long as you put videos up I'll watch. Great job as always. I’m always amazed how much you’re able to achieve with how little equipment you have. I’m just spoiled by working in special purpose machine building, we have all the toys needed available for all our foreigners 🤣. As a tip for cooling down parts slowly: make yourself a little wooden box and fill that with vermiculite. Chugg your hot welded/heated parts in there for slow cooling! Works a treat

Nice mods in the Shed/Studio. Looks like you got another 5~6 extra lights without fitting any. Also Like the Radiator fill spout. Nothing worse than trying to bleed a coolant system with the cap not being the high point.

The engine torques over under load unless you have front and back engine plate that is why you use hump intercooler hoses

I have had several pieces of metal removed from my eyes over the years as a result of not wearing goggles while grinding. I got a few scars on my lower legs from using a gas axe on badly rusted steel on a demolition job years ago. I'd get dozens of spatters a day because I wore shorts. But I had steel-capped boots and socks. The balls of melted steel would fall inside my sock or edge of my boots. I ignored anything that wasn't too big, but I had a few 6mm balls of molten steel fall inside my sock. They kinda burn, but there's no point in taking your boot off because the damage is already done. You just get used to it. Oh, and yeah, it has been hot up this way.
