It is not just that the watches are CRAP... there is a disclaimer about the watches depicted not necessarily being what you will receive and in the FAQ's it contains legal language implying there is no expected delivery date. There is only about $12,000 in GOLD in the $100,000 watch with a Chinese movement assembled in Europe. So it is CRAP with a pretty dubious sales process.

What is being missed here is that the 100k watch is a fantastic way for DJT to take contributions without record. As they are sold globally, one could funnel $1m to him easily by simply buying 10 of these. This latest move by Trump has far less to do with selling schlocky trinkets and much more about making contributions untraceable. The turbillon is an Olivier Mory movement. Some Swiss parts in there. Mostly Chinese… and all way cheaper than 100K. Buyers would be better off to get themselves a gold Rolex and 350 Seagull 1963s instead. That plan would retain the Swiss/Chinese blend, be way less garish, and 1000X the quality.

The logo on the watch is set in Myriad, an Apple system font. On the Trump Tower it’s Rockwell which has a lot of character and originates from the 30s. It had a revival in the 70s. The more recent ventures use Trajan, a typeface inspired by the Roman capitalis monumentalis found on ancient Roman buildings. On the cheaper watch the logo is the same as on his private plane, potentially Univers Bold Extended.

Huh? I have several Swiss movements and they all use blued screws. AFAIK the origin of the blued screw is to show the skill of the maker. To get an even blueing (back in the day) took time and skill. The blue oxide layer is extremely thin and will scratch very, very easily - so it is imperative that you have screwdrivers that fit precisely and the skill to put them in - without making the screws scratchy. I.e. it was a "look at my skill" statement...back in the day.

Love your review. You are far more diplomatic than I would have been. I am a watch enthusiast. I admire fine craftsmanship and beautiful design. I am also a mechanical watch purest. Having said all this, I have to say that like everything Donald Trump, these watches look cheap and tacky. The diamonds on the bezel are, for my taste, flashy and tasteless bling. I wouldn't wear one of these watches regardless of the branding. Having Trump on the dial guarantees that I wouldn't spend a dime on one of these watches.
