I highly suggest using about 1½ teaspoon of vegan lactic acid instead of vinegar its a more flavor truer to a dairy cheese. You would love it replacing vinegar

You were right...lots of steps BUT it was well worth it!!!! It was really YUMMY and sauce was really creamy! This will be on heavy rotation! Made it last night...half is gone already and it's just me!! 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Jill, we’ll I made this recipe. It’s outstanding. Like I said above I used cashew milk unsweetened, rice vinegar, no garlic or onion powder. I also layered a row of spinach. The next time I make it , I’ll put more mushrooms and onion in it. I gave some to my 80 year old neighbor. She’s trying to go somewhat plant base. Hope she likes it as much as I do. I was surprised that almost half of the calories is in the rolled oats.

I just made this this evening. My gawd it’s delicious. I couldn’t find decent zucchini’s so I switched for eggplant. Other than the noodle switch, I did everything as per the demo. Flawless 🤤

This was delicious! The flavor was great without the basil. I used spinach instead of kale and added a poblano to the cheese sauce. This was worth it to make even though there were those steps to build. I made a small one since I’m cooking for one. Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I just made the white lasagna for my Thanksgiving main course! Very excited to try it tomorrow!! Truly that looks absolutely scrumptious. I hope to make that in the next week or two. I'm thinking that I might substitute out the mushrooms with tofu due to a mushroom allergy. Also glad to see the tip about mixing oats and cashews. We grow oats in the midwest here but not too many cashews. I've been sauteing vegetables in my convection oven at 160 overnight to concentrate their flavor and sweetness. I will have to try the zucchini noodles

I love this recipe. I am trying to give the flavors a little more punch. It comes out more bland than I’d like. I also add Butler soy curls at the basil layer. I break 1 cup of the larger ones into 1/2”-3/4” pieces before soaking. It adds a good texture to me.

Lengthwise zucchini is very fancy. However, I want to mention that zucchini coins, done exactly the same way, are faster, still make a great casserole and tastes the same, although it looks a little less like lasagna.

... It has to sit for at least a few hours or more… Even serve it the next day... Can't wait till I get a kitchen and an oven to make it… Very nice recipe… It could even be served with a little marinara on the side...👍 ...(got to have sesame breadsticks along with it)

oats can get slimy if over-blended. So I might blend all else first, esp the cashews, until silky and then do the oats for a few seconds.

I also might hold off on the final white sauce until the last half hour or so, so it would be hot and bubbly but not quite so crispy.

Well, I thought my hubby might like this since it's full of mushrooms but he wouldn't even try a bite!?! He's getting so fussy as he ages. Even though I hate mushrooms, I had a serving right from the oven. Not much flavour but I'll eat it. I find that I usually need to double or triple the seasonings in vegan dishes.

Take the whole quantity of ingredients for the whole dish ... example 1 cup cashews, 1 whole zucchini...etc. add them up via a calorie app...then divide into 8 portions ~ her dish looks like eight portions. There you'll have your calories

@@sarahwaters8262 Have you tried substituting with sunflower seeds? It seem like it would be a good match texture-wise, but sunflower seeds have such a distinct flavor that it might be overpowering? Maybe not if the other ingredients hold up to the flavor. Thank you for the suggestion! I may try this. Maybe first on a cheese sauce to see if I like it.

Laurie Moe if you want to use sunflower seeds, but get less of the flavor, I find it works best to soak them for 24 hours or more in the fridge, then drain, rinse, drain, and boil in fresh water for at least 10 minutes. Drain again. You’ll notice they are much lighter in color and have less of the distinct flavor in cheese sauces
