I'm pretty sure Austin's theater training contributes to his comfort with being on stage. Plus, he just has that outgoing personality.
@itzel1735 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. And he’s talked about even if not feeling it you have to meet audience expectations, like having a powerful presence. That’s a Disney thing too, meeting expectations. Did he do a stint at Disney?

I wonder if it’s because, at a glance, they appear to be a bad country stereotype of white male rednecks? Whereas, we know, by diving into their catalogue and history, we know they are allies and anti-bullying and there is no room for hate at a HomeFree show. They want us to be undivided. They call out the racists, fascists, nihilists and bigots. And while Tim personally prefers ladies, he’d “kiss a dude,to piss off the WBB church”.

1. I saw your reaction like 10 seconds before you reacted to the breakdown. Spot on!!! 2. Nine to Five is the first Home Free song I ever saw searching for the Dolly version. 3. OMG I agree that Rob is the Bear in person as well. 4. I was singing along with them at a live performance doing the "fan girl" thing from the balcony on stage-left and I tend to belt. When they released the note they were on, I held it a little bit longer than I should have and it kinda echoed across the theater off the pipe organ facade and Rob looked straight up at me with that "Wow!" Open-mouth-look on his face that turned into a smile. Melted me. :-)

All I can tell you about Rob saying he deflated footballs for the Patriots is that a few years ago, the Patriots got into a little heat in the news when it was discovered that the footballs Tom Brady was using were found not to be inflated fully. If where they're performing here is near New England, it might be the inside joke.
@teresacartwright5406 Жыл бұрын
Back in the day (when this was taped) there had been a big ruckus 'cuz the New England Patriots football team had been accused of using partially deflated footballs. I don't know if you noticed that Adam's hair is long in this video. In recent live videos, they do a mash-up of "Man of Constant Sorrow" & Folsom Prison - Austin no-monicas in harmony with Adam. Love your channel & reactions!

@belinda9696 Жыл бұрын
I think some of it is the venue they are at, sometimes there are seats and theatres have rules, and some places you can stand and go crazy, also it has to do with the energy of the crowd too, some older crowds like to sit, but Tim always tells them if you feel like dancing to get up and shake your @$$ and live a little and usually by the end of any concert there are some people standing belly up to the stage. I love when I go to a concert where we can all go to the stage and dance and cheer.
@dagmar.6954 Жыл бұрын
The guys do a great job of Dolly Parton's song. Even though this isn't the greatest recording, you still get a feel of how talented these guys are. Love seeing all of them beatboxing. And Tim's bass is so low. Gives you an idea what it would be like to be there & hear it live.
@brendasorenson6186 Жыл бұрын
Rob and Tim can beatbox decently. If you look closely, Adam is supplementing Austin's & Chris' beatboxing while in the shadows. Austin does no-monica duets live with Adam on Man Of Constant Sorrow. However, Adam is in a class of his own when it comes to beatboxing!
@pennymaple1817 Жыл бұрын
IIRC Rob took over the beatboxing when they did Adam's guilty pleasure. I know he majored in musical performance so I wonder if that included a beatbox element as well as an opera one? 😁😁
@brendasorenson6186 Жыл бұрын
@pennymaple1817 Maybe he missed "playing an instrument," as he was a sax player in high school before switching to vocal music. 😄 Thanks for pointing out which song Rob beatboxed in, as I couldn't remember.

They are madly versatile. There is a clip of them singing Little Saint Nick at a Patreon party which sums them up as far as I'm concerned. Tim and Chance seamlessly swap the bass so they can so sing verses, Tim takes over the percussion so Adam can sing a verse... And it really is so smooth you don't even think about it, apart from the novelty of Adam singing!
@JoanN63 Жыл бұрын
That's why one of my biggest wishes is to see Home Free perform live in the Netherlands.( Sept.27) Because how good is this? Each member can do more than sing, while singing is already so great. And how steady and incredible it sounds is just amazing. Of course the no-human beatboxing of Adam is unmatchable, but the awesome beatboxing of the others is also worth it. They don't just give a concert, they give entertainment. They don't need too much show around it because they are the show itself.

I had the good fortune to see them perform this at the show I went to back then with Chris. It was phenomenal live! I hadn’t heard about it and was totally surprised! Tim actually can do some simple beatboxing. There’s a video floating around somewhere that was a Cameo (not MyFanPark) request of Chance, Rob, and Tim doing part of the chorus of Steve Miller’s “Keep on Rockin’ Me, Baby”. It’s a shorty, but oh, so good! There’s actually another video of this after Chance joined the group since it was the same year that Chris left and they were still performing the beatbox breakdown. Chance was pretty good, too!

I’m so happy you got to this one! They did this in a performance in Amsterdam too. Killed the crowd! I think their choice of adding Adam Chance was brilliant because he compliments all this. He is a master at all the electric guitar noises, so they can create any beats they want. They did a little bit of this at the live show I went too, they are great in person.

Deflating the football joke refers to a sports scandal from a few years back. The team New England Patriots, specifically their star player Tom Brady, were accused of deflating the air pressure in their footballs in order to gain an advantage on the field. It was such a stupid thing it’s become a bit of a joke.

I admit that I underestimated Austin when I first heard Home Free. Now I know that he is a brilliant songwriter and he's such a wonderful singing artist in general. He is so adaptable. Which is a talent in and of itself. Yes, it is. Everything he does musically is so deliberate, but he makes it look natural (music and dance both).
