Actually deku knows that, we can see that in a few ep later, i wont tell you in detail because it's spoiler , it just that "hero is the person who save people when they dont even need it" and the fact that bakugou is such an important person to him that he doesnt care if bakugou's gonna hate him more if that means bakugou's alive.

a pro heroes are ranked. there are literally 100s of pros so only the top ten are really taken into account. but its a passive ranking that takes into account number of incidents resolved, (endeavor is actually number 1 in that field), general strength and community contributions as well as overall popularity. anyone with a hero license is and is working as a pro is going to have some kind of rank but not everyone really pays attention to it. we can gleam that the UA teachers are all pretty well known and popular (aside from Aizawa since he's a more underground hero) so they probably al have decent rankings. Probably lower than they'd have normally if they weren't splitting their time also working as a teacher.
