I got this for installation of curtains and blinds, replacing lock sets on doors, hanging pictures, tv’s and does great. Use 20v instead of 12v batteries for more power. It does fine for jobs intended for. Zero problems.

@J-Colt is it heavy to work with if using it for about an hour or for the tasks you mentioned OK?
@toolsandtactics2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think that's probably all. It's good for but very good. At it just like the testing showed For a lightwork, like that is probably the best thing aroun

@@southsidetom Very light with both 20 or 12 v batteries.

The first time I remember seeing something similar to this was one of these stupid as seen on TV switch drives has two 3/8 chucks on either end like this then works has pretty much the same tool they are up to their second generation brushless now
@bluemantom772 ай бұрын
I guess for the homeowner it might have its use if you just want a simple tool for simple task I personally wouldn't even look at this thing
@gnshp81672 ай бұрын
At first it looked like a little rotary hammer 😂 Even as an installation driver this thing is just to large

I picked up the compact kit tonight... don't need it but couldn't pass it up for a bone. Just too good of a deal

Some designer spent months working on that drill. 😢 3d modeling and all that. The prototype. Bringing the idea to the higher ups in the company. Getting it approved. Starting production. Advertising. Distribution. 😂
@toolsandtactics2 ай бұрын
@@nathangardner772 yeah and they were like, let's just throw a brushless motor in here and we'll give it enough power to drive a quarter inch screw
@renegadered44552 ай бұрын
Thankfully they had it out and ready for testing at my lowes. Thanks for recording the results for others to see. Hey can the next tool you buy be a tripod? Less shake and more hands for future vids 😂

Glad to see this - I was thinking about it BuT, not now. Skil seems “hit and miss” ….

How can you do a legit review without fully charging the battery??
@toolsandtactics2 ай бұрын
Pretty certain. One more bar wouldn't have made that much of a difference here at the end of the day. The high-speed is most drill's lowest speed i looks cool and unique but it lacks power
@ciprianploesteanu2 ай бұрын
This drill supports the 20v Skil batteries also. It has more power with those. Not a complete review, sorry.
@toolsandtactics2 ай бұрын
Then it will be basically the same size as every other tool more case in point if the battery is the size of the tool.why are you buying a small tool?
@ciprianploesteanu2 ай бұрын
@@toolsandtactics the 2.5 Ah 20v battery is 1(one)cm wider and 3-4 cm longer. It does not affect the size of the tool. A 4 Ah 20v battery adds another 2-3 cm do the height. Yes, some weight will be added too.

Maybe better with a 20v battery? Nevermind, just get the Flex set.

can't wait to see your thoughts on the flex compact compared to what SoAlz said. The flex kit was dropped to $149, nice to see it's even less now. Makes it more worth it for $100. I hope Flex doesn't start dropping prices...I just picked up a bunch of their tools with the free battery kits. The only thing I really want flex to drop price on is the 2.0 stacked packs...love the size

I just got into flex too, an also got the compact kit. I actually just purchased the flex 3/8 stapler yesterday for a job an it was so sweet. My brother doesn’t like it because it’s faster then him with a stapler, hurts his ego 😢
