The apt doesn't only have a W/D, it has a Miele-washer and dryer which is very good quality. Way better than the average for ex Bosch-W/D which a lot of apt's have.... That's definitely worth noticing, especially to the people who value their W/D.

Nice neighborhood, historic building, lovely apartment. If I'm going to overpay in NY, this is it. The fridge even opens in the right direction and the toilet doesn't face the kitchen! The ceiling height is the most impressive feature.

I had to go back to see what you were talking about because I didn't know there is a "right direction" to open a fridge. And then it dawned on me. Oh, shit. He's right. Then I quickly realized my fridge doesn't open in the "right direction". Now this will be something I actively look for in every apartment/home. Damn you!

@@Mrcelebrity07 8 out of 10 of the apartments he shows open in the wrong direction. It's a management thing. Most fridge doors are designed to be reversible. Either they didn't bother to flip them or didn't bother to buy the correct one. Either way, it's careless.

This is the one place I see so far where you made a quick show that the building has a reception/security check-in. A lot of this property channels don't talk about the security features of the building and this is one of the things, as an independent woman, that I would check during apartment hunting. But the old town feeling of the surrounding is sold on me. I love walking in the quiet morning and think about what people used to do 100 years ago in the very same place I stood. I won't do it at night though, could be haunted.

omg this place! ❤❤❤ I can't even believe the rent! 😮 Being the bibliophile that I am, the bookshelves nearly stopped my heart! The living room is more than big enough to fit a dining table and seating/TV area. The bedroom has room for a queen bed, dresser and work/office area. I could most definitely here! The only place I like better is the $12K per mo., 100 yr old Art Deco penthouse (seriously, could never afford it, but it's till my favorite...I can dream, can't I 😉) btw, thanks for your attention to detail!

Nice i work down here. What may or may not be a plus is that this area is pretty much dead after 6:00 as it’s catered more toward the people working in the area. The seaport does have some life as that’s where most of the things will be open past that time. There is an I Max theater there, a boat that takes you to IKEA in Brooklyn in 20min and ferry’s to different points in NY and Jersey faster than the subway. Over all nice quite mature neighborhood for the 30’s- 50’s crowd.

I looked it up. Here: "150 Nassau Street, also known as the Park Place Tower and the American Tract Society Building, is a 23-story, 291-foot (89 m) building in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan in New York City. It is located at the southeast corner of Spruce Street and Nassau Street, next to 8 Spruce Street, the former New York Times Building, and New York City Hall. 150 Nassau Street was built in 1894-1895 as the headquarters of the American Tract Society (ATS), a nonprofit, nonsectarian but evangelical organization that distributed religious tracts. Designed by the architect R. H. Robertson, it is one of the first skyscrapers built from a steel skeleton and was among New York City's tallest buildings when it was completed. 150 Nassau Street is located near Park Row, which contained several newspaper headquarters. The building failed to make a profit during ATS's occupancy, and the New York Life Insurance Company foreclosed on the building in 1914. After ATS moved out, the New York Sun occupied the building from 1914 to 1919. The building's 10th through 23rd floors were converted into condominiums between 1999 and 2002. In 1999, it was designated as a city landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. The American Tract Society Building is also a contributing property to the Fulton-Nassau Historic District, a National Register of Historic Places district created in 2005." So offices, basically, for the American Tract Society and various other businesses after that. R. H. Robertson was the architect for a number of interesting and beautiful Manhattan buildings of the era.

As you pointed out, this apartment is a short walk from a lot of jobs that pay enough to rent it. It's also very convenient to subways if you commute, and my map shows a couple of food markets not far away. Great building amenities, and though the view from the rooftop deck is good, the view from the apartment is not. I'd call the interior finishes higher-end but not luxury. The living room and bedroom are spacious by NYC standards, and I have enough books to fill that bookcase easily. This place could be a good choice for an executive on the way up (who will eventually move into something better), or maybe a retired exec on a pension. I could live there quite comfortably!
