Awesome video & Tool. Teachers such as myself will greatly benefit from AI. I can now save so much time by creating lesson plans, units, quizzes using Alayna! Keep up the great work Eric🎉

Thanks for the video Eric. I truly appreciate how creative most of your videos are. However, regarding this one, it is really awkward that the lesson plan you've chosen to show us is a science one, when most of your content is for ESL teachers, who I assume constitute most of your follower base. I hope you weren't forced to use that lesson plan as a requirement for sponsoring this site (btw I am totally OK with sponsored content). I guess I'm just trying to say that I'd really enjoy a video in which you explore how powerful this tool can be for esl teaching, as you so brilliantly did with chatgpt. Looking forward to your next video!, cheers!

Hi Jose! Thanks for pointing it out. You know, I didn't really think anyone noticed these details, so I'm impressed and touched. Honestly, while choosing which example to give, I was about to use an ESL lesson. But then decided to go with a science example for a few reasons: I thought people might be bored of me always using ESL examples (like I do in the other videos) and that science might be more interesting. In the future, I will be more conscious of my decisions in the videos. 🙂 With regards to sponsored videos, I'll try to balance them out with my normal content. I have many useful videos I want to create in the future. Thank you for your comment! 🙏

Thanks for posting this and all your great material. A comment on AI before I jump in. There's an ancient Taoist saying, "Concerning stuff, either we lose in the gaining, or we gain in the losing." I've found over the years tech is like that. Yes, these things are game-changers, but no one ever asks, the part that it changed, was that the part we really wanted changed? For example, with AI, isn't it that you're either getting what people have already said and done, or some relatively random combinations and riffing on what people have already said and done? What I mean is, you're not going to get the ideal, the wisdom of the ages, the "first principles"? In this case, in your example I noticed the learning objectives, or actually "the objectives," use the words "understand" and "learn about." These are not actually words that should be in "learning objectives," because there's no way to observe "understanding." It's not specific or concrete enough to evaluate directly. You can observe them for example "analyzing" or "synthesizing" but not "understanding." If they can say back a few buzzwords, is that "understanding"? Compared to "make an argument for or against"? A lot of people will just shrug at this. But if you think about it if we want to develop "critical thinking," then we would need to specifcy "make an argument" versus "repeat back a few buzzwords." Anyway as we know hardly any teachers on the planet are getting paid to develop critical thinking. 98% are getting paid to have students say back a few buzzwords, and that's just how are down here. I don't want to be a downer and I hope no one feels depressed reading this. But I'm saying, admittedly as an old-timer, we are losing big time with AI, even as we win big time as well. And yes I'm going to be using this today to get on with my life. Thanks for reading my screed. I feel better now. 🙂

Good day sir I have been following your videos for past few days. The information that you share is extraordinary. It takes a lot of time to research to help the teachers. Really appreciate it! It will be helpful if the apps are free of cost! If you come across anything as such, do share it sir!

Hi Eric! The translation into Spanish that the AI has done of the lesson plan is accurate. Don't worry about it😅
