I am Saudi and I admit that Arabic vocabulary is like an ocean 🌊 no matter how many words you already knew/learnt they will be always a whole lots of new words to learn and discover, even for a well-educated native speaker. That’s the intriguing beauty of Arabic language.

I was teaching one of my coworkers about the word “alby”, slang but romantic way of saying my heart. I told him to properly pronounce the word, it’s qalby. He pronounced it as kalby, “my dog” lol. I told him if you want to be romantic, tell the girl alby. If you tell her kalby, she’ll slap you and you’ll go to the doctor and say qalby is broken. 😂
