Chris' voice is even more amazing when you see him live. No autotune or fakery of any sort, he is just that talented. Best of all, he knows who pays his bills and makes sure to give time to his audience. He'll even put down his guitar and walk through the crowd, shaking hands and giving hugs, while still singing. If you ever get the chance to see him in concert, dear Aileen, don't hesitate to go.

Hey, Aileen. This music video was shot by fashion photographer Herb Ritts. He used black and white as his palette to capture a certain erotica during the 198o's and 9o's with some of the most beautiful models during that time. Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Stephanie Seymour, Tatjana Patitz, Christy Turlington, Madonna, as well as celebrities, and portraits as well. Since you like this video you'll be happy to know that Ritts also directed another popular song video for Chris Isaak. BABY DID A BAD, BAD, THING. Let your mind wrap around the title of that song snd see what you get. I'll bet your are curious to know. Anyway, can't wait to see it. Keep going and enjoy the music.

One of my favorite back stage facts that always makes me laugh is that in the scene when she is straddling him and he is kissing her, all that she was thinking about was what she was going to eat for lunch. I like how the first half of the video she’s constantly focusing her gaze on him (and us)…then after the video goes sepia tone and after it returns to black and white she never makes eye contact with him again. She even rolls her eyes at one point😂. It’s like she’s getting bored and her eyes are already looking elsewhere. The background vocals are warning him the whole time…”this world is only going to break your heart “. …and the end, “nobody loves no one” a double negative meaning … everybody loves someone.

Not just the official video, but its the studio song. The song made exactly the way the artist wanted it to sound. I think a good idea is to start with studio songs and then go to the live versions because people often have their first/deepest connection to the studio songs, and you know they will have good quality, bass and clarity compared to many live versions. I know i sometimes sit and think "do the studio version!" because of the much higher quality but also because they often have different notes played/sang. Anyway Wicked Game is wicked. :)

My uncle used to drink and cry to this song. He was in love with a woman who basically stringed him along and played him all while her heart belonged to another. He had a boy with her and loved him to death. He was everything to him and at age 6 or 7 she finally told him the truth. He wasn't his child and the father of the child was really the other guy. My uncle was devastated and he never married or settled with a woman. He was completely heartbroken and shattered. He just passed away 3 years ago from cancer. This song always reminds me of him even if it was a negative memory for him. It was a positive one for me because it reminds me of all the good he was to me.

I started playing bass in the early 80s. That was a pretty standard way of filling the background and maintaining the tempo back then. I still play bass at church, and I still play that riff when the songs are soft like this and need a good steady driving tempo. It makes me smile when someone young like you actually notices and understands some 'old-school' bass.
