Yea this is normal at good Dutch gyms, but also common with the Dutch maroccan fighters (I love their style, but try to avoid sparring them when I have a bad day). You are way too kind and risking it with the dodges VS this rough style, if he would be better he might land some damaging shots. This is why we usually go for pretty full defense and try counter a lot to stop the sparring partner from dominating. And also use many knees! You are taller, when the aggressive fighter moves in throw that flying knee! Obviously you are super skilled and know how to do this, now you are in the Netherlands this is your chance to knockout all your sparring partners with bodyshots! And in my experience there is very very little ego involved with the better fighters in the Netherlands, they don't care about the opponent/sparring partner though. At the last 3 gyms I was at the class would have like 80 people signed up and only 20 attend because the rest have injuries.. LOL i saw the Morocco text on the guys shirt in the thumbnail and already knew who would be the loose cannon in the video. I know some good Maroccan dudes but the aggressiveness is in their culture, to the point where they lose their cool very fast and go all out. Even when it starts with light sparring, once they get hit clean with a simple jab, you can see the switch in their eyes into rage mode lmao. A combination of hurt pride/ego and aggressive nature.

Just ran into some guys kind of like him last weekend at an inter-club sparring meet for my martial art, people who are pretty good but not quite at the skill level where you can freely use your technique vocabulary so you end up compensating with physicality and kind of overdoing things. I'm pretty sure it's a state everyone goes through, assuming they get past it, I for sure can remember myself being like that a few years ago too. I actually feel a bit embarrassed looking back at how hard I tried to "win" sparring matches against guys who were way better than I was.
