13:05 For me it’s not just the pressure to be “a certain version of the female ideal,” but the pressure to be stretched into “the best” version of yourself. I mean in a aggressively perfected way. Not just logically playing up your best features, but almost *grinding* every last little thing about your face and body into overdrive. It’s the definition of an uphill battle. I did some modeling jobs and a movie, and it occurred to me, “Well, the attention and creativity’s nice, but what’s the point of ‘success’ if you… can’t eat?” I’m rambling!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe part of the reason for having the MET Gala is because the Costume Institute is the only part of the MET that has to provide their own funding because we as a society don't believe fashion history is important. Obviously that doesn't mean the MET Gala doesn't have problematic parts (also the clothes haven't been good since Heavenly Bodies in 2018, in my opinion), but it's annoying that we undervalue such a significant part of history.

I loved the intro reminder that no one needs to run out & buy every "new new"- it's something I struggled with for yearsss. Thankfully I found content creators such as yourself, Tom, Hannah & a handful of others, who focus on comparisons (to what we might already own), loving what we own, & giving us very detailed reviews that really delve into everything!

17:48 Kristen Stewart was actually a Chanel runway piece. She rocked it! Thom Browne had an immaculate showing though with several pieces on the carpet. Teyana Taylor was my fav Thom Browne piece I think. As far as the whole Met, Anne Hathaway was one of my absolute favorites, maybe THE fav, I haven't decided yet.

Kackie if you want to stimulate your hair follicles so your hair will grow thicker. Get a bottle of straight castor oil. Massage the castor oil into your scalp and leave it on for 30 to 45 minutes before you wash your hair. Also, massage with some grit, you gotta get down to those follicles to wake them back up and the castor oil stimulates hair growth the same way it stimulates other uhhhhh you know.... things. I'm 43 and it's is the only thing that works for me. Castor oil in a clean plastic hair color bottle is the easiest way to apply it to your scalp.

As someone with BPD, I do wish someone had told me earlier. I'd been bouncing around from therapists/counselors/etc. for years never knowing how to describe what was happening. I entered into the WORST relationship I've ever been in & it took explaining what was happening in my head for a friend to say "I think you have BPD." Heres my therapists number. I was in therapy a week later, that was 7 years ago. I now have a formal ADHD/BPD/Autism diagnosis & am beginning to understand so much more about how I perceive the world & interact with it because someone told me I might have a diagnosable problem.

haha I do feel like I come to hang out :D Question though, how would you feel about doing a 10-15 favorite fondations video? 🤔 I've seen so many reviewed on your channel, but there are sooo many that it's hard sometimes to compare them in the same space. Even if the chanel le teint ends up being the top one, I'd be curious to see how the MAC, the IT cosmetics, the suratt, milk, RMS, lisa eldridge, westman atelier, kjaer weis, chantecaille, Rare beauty, etc compare to each other :) (also have you ever tried the armani silk foundation and/or cle de peau? not sure I have seen them so far in your videos but I could be wrong!) sending you good vibes! x Mai ☺️

My cousin used to be a model professionally in Toronto; she was 5 foot 9 and weighed about 120 lbs, and she was called the "fat girl" and pressured to lose weight. People pretend models are just 'naturally that thin' and that is nonsense. Of course different people have different body types, and yes, models are naturally taller and thinner people. But to become so thin as to lose your period (as many of them do) is something you must maintain through restriction-based eating disorders. Example: Bella hadid put out an eating plan once and it was 800 calories per day (this will kill you).

I don't think anyone was more hurt by Karl than Karl. If the stories about him are true, he was probably very sad most of the time. Understandably, if the stories about his childhood are true. Reportedly, his mother told him, as a kid, that he would never be as beautiful as her, and, later, she never attended his shows, saying she preferred other designers. Meanwhile, she kept a scrapbook of all his accomplishments, that he never knew about, until she died. Whether she was too proud to admit that her son had exceeded her talents, or she was doing the tough love act, to push him on, I can't begin to wonder. But it can't have been healthy for either of them
