I hope you are offering to teach your boys (and your daughter when she is old enough) these great skills that ya'll possess. Welding, wood working, metal working, cooking, construction, animal husbandry, etc. Your children will be MILES AHEAD of their peers with these skills in their "tool box." You're probably already doing this anyway but I just want to encourage you to train them all with your wonderful knowledge and experience. 🙂

Great job on the ram frames, I am so sorry you are not able to find the wheels. Something else sitting out in the ocean. I guess you have already checked with Miah to see if they have any down their way. Good luck. Guess the chickens are telling you they are just way too busy to lay eggs. Yall have a Blessed day.

I think during Spring, Summer and Fall if they follow the cows on day 3 that optimizes the emergence of the maggots from the flies laying eggs in the manure. The maggots provide the chickens pure protein, which they figure out real quickly, and obviously they keep the fly population down/in check so they aren't bothering the hell out of the livestock (and people).

I really like watching your video. You might think my ideas are good for you. Last time I thought it might be best to attach the mineral box to the milking station instead of it being separate. 2. Do you just want the chickens to disperse the cows' poop? Because if you wait another two days they will be able to eat the larvae of the flies and thus get extra protein and this will also lower the amount of flies in the area. I hope I was able to help with something to improve life. Thank you, with great love.

Organic cold processed coconut oil is a product useful for removing grease and oil type stains. Good as a deoderant too, because though it's an oil, it washes out easily when used by itself. Great to use on fungi, molds, mildew, bacteria, viruses, and anything in between. It reminds me of organic based whole raw honey, in that it has so many uses. Once witnessed a veterinarian use it on the wound of a baby seal where dead tissue had to be cut off his little flipper. The doc slipped his hand in a large jar of the stuff, and slathered it on the raw wound right before applying bandaging. Amazing substances!

The chemical age, brought to us by WWII. My dad and stepdad fought fiercely in that war, and I have respect for all those who did it, but we were left with both good and bad.... the onslaught of chemicals and the scientific laboratory doing things "better." Mother Nature had a bit longer to perfect these things than scientists. I think I'll stick with her ways a little longer.

I live in Minnesota and when my birds slowed on laying I added a higher protein feather fixer feed. I also let them free feed. I made a 5 gallon water proof, scratch proof feeder with a bucket and 3 pvc elbows. My birds do have a LED light in the coop which probably helps. Also TSC will match competitor pricing on things. As long as the store it is matching isn't hours away. Doesn't have to be the exact brand cause they even do it with store brands. So for instance I have a store called fleet farm. If their store brand feed is on sale for a 50lb bag TSC will match their 50 lb feed store brand. Good for future use.

1st, I think you should have just bought the wheels from tractor supply. The cost of gas and your time probably was more expensive than just buying Tractor supply's wheels. 2nd, if you want a longer laying season out of your hens you could use a full spectrum light on a timer. That will extend their daylight hours and they will continue to lay. Ben and Megan, love your videos. I like seeing what next you all are doing from day to day. So thanks! 🤗

Turn the tables perpendicular to the length of the panel and they will hold them up like big sawhorses. And you can work standing up. They would also work for other jobs.. Like soap making.. You have only one wheel because the other 3 are sitting in the port of Long Beach. Glad you got out of here. Poor truckers are forced by the Environmental Protection Agency to upgrade their trucks because of the overly strict pollution laws in California. Most cannot afford to do so. Now there is a truck shortage. So everything backs up at the port. My mechanic says some parts are hard to get. (especially truck parts). Heads up!..FYI, more shortages are coming to the USA.🇺🇸 Order extra wheels now!😊🙏🏻

Don't need inflation, hard rubber, cast offs can be found at most durable medical supply places that provide service or delivery of wheelchairs, and you would be removing stuff from the waste stream and turn it into something valuable. Please consider worm farming. It is a win-win-win! for your family. With all you are doing now, adding one more thing may seem overwhelming,,,,, BUT the soil produced by worms using compost you currently have will make the soil even better. "Oh, and one benefit I did not notice at first was they eat my junk mail (they eat it faster if you shred it first, but you don't have to.)." The worms you do not sell you can introduce to your garden. They make great chicken feed too! The significant part is it's a small investment of money and time. They feed on what you already have. The biggest plus is a saleable product. You can sell many different kinds of worms. They can sell for up to $35 lbs.

To get the grease out of clothing, dampen the spots, squirt a bit of Dawn dish soap into it (small amount) and work it in to the spot then launder the clothing as usual. It works like a charm. Doesn't matter whether it's grease from metal, salad dressing, or oil paint. I had an apron that I used when I did oil paintings and when I had an art show, I wanted it to be cleaned up a bit (I was painting during the show). I scraped off what I could of the dried paint, did the Dawn soap trick on it and believe it or not, it came out looking brand new. Love the videos, Hollar family! Heather🇨🇦

Hello, You seem to have one son constantly not to far away from you and your work. Maybe it only looks like this in the Photo angle? Any way you have four sons that are a good help to you. God Bless Your homestead and keep it safe from harm. Enjoy your Christmas Season!

I grew up on a farm. Bought very few groceries ever. Chickens need 16% layer feed and 16 hours of light. Keep them warm and add lighting if needed

In this area, when the big guys are out of things we start looking at the small, independent hardware stores, feed and seed stores etc...Have you called tire shops which outfit farm and other equipment; often other equipment is the key.

Just wondering if the people you're making these for might have the wheels you're looking for?

I freeze extra eggs while the girls are laying to help get us through their rest period. I crack eggs into food save deli containers. Some I leave whole, some I’ll scramble.

I heard you say the chickens quit laying but I think they are beautiful to look at. They are black australorps am I correct? What hatchery did you use to get these? I remember when you got them when they were babies.

Have you considered making the panels to where you can bolt them together? That way you don’t have to take the welder to final destination and if they ever need to move any distance, they can disassemble them.

to get the grease and oil stains off of clothes, use shampoo as a spot treatment and rub it into the oil/grease stain, let sit overnight or a few hours...like magic, it's gone! use the cheapest shampoo you can find (like from a dollar store)

I have a question I live in SC so I'm sure you all have fire ants🙁 do the chickens eat them? Or when you move them how do you avoid them?
