Great video! We are both in our 80's and are all about healthy aging. Getting older does have to mean getting sicker. We still strive for a strong body, a calm mind, & a positive outlook. Plant-based for years. Thanks!

@@byronmurphy1977 the United Nations 2019 IPCC report states that a vegan diet is the most impactful thing anyone can do for the climate. They have a graph that shows each diet and its effectiveness at mitigating environmental destruction and pollution and the vegan diet comes out on top by miles. This report is made up of 6000 studies. You are full of shit

This is just awful. Glad to be vegan for the last 6+ years, wish I had done it earlier. 150 years ago, US killed off the bison (all but 27) this ruined the live of indigenous people. In all that time, we have learned so little.

Amazon burns every year this season. It is cyclical during the dry season and no one can stop it. After that, everything goes green again.
@HealingLifeKwikly4 жыл бұрын
THAT is not what is happening. Over 70% of the deforestation in the Amazon in recent decades has been ranchers intentionally destroying swaths of forest (chopping or burning it down) to make room to graze cattle or grow soy to feed to the cattle. The research is very clear on that--beef consumption is the main driver of the deforestation of the Amazon. This trend has gotten much worse because of the anti-forest policies of Brazil's current president.
@rosemarygimenez64454 жыл бұрын
That’s true! The biggest problem we have are the fake news about what really happens there because of the bad Brazilian politicians and the corrupted news. They want the whole world to believe that our current government doesn’t care about the Amazônia, which is totally the opposite. There are 22 forests inside the Amazônia, and the Brazilian Army is actually there protecting the land and putting in jail the ones that are purposely putting fire. And yes, there is the dry season as well, but as you said, everything goes green again! And don’t forget that there are tons of people and countries interested in Amazonia’s minerals, soil, land, etc!!!
@rosemarygimenez64454 жыл бұрын
You’re totally wrong Karl Wheatley!!! We’re Brazilians know exactly what is happening there! Plan a trip to the Amazônia to see with your very eyes 👀 and stop spreading fake news!!!

@@rosemarygimenez6445 Thanks for your reply. Sorry, but you are being duped by your own government. We have satellites flying over the Amazon showing the record rates at which the Amazon is being destroyed and lots of reporters and researchers have studied how rapidly it is being destroyed. The rate of deforestation was slowing for awhile several years back, but has really skyrocketed under Bolsonaro--who wants to "develop" the Amazon. The only problem is that to Mother Nature, "development" means more destruction and death. By the way, one of my students was there in the rainforest recently. Stayed in a beautiful lush area then got to witness some of the devastation firsthand. She said it was the most heartbreaking thing she ever saw. Take care.

Karl Wheatley I can only say that the truth will prevail, and great things has started to happen in Brazil since Bolsonaro won the election. There’s a lot of corruption in the country associated with the so called “socialism”, and we will not become like Venezuela, Cuba or Argentina. Hopefully, the entire world will be free of the communists dictators, and all nations can live in peace. Until there, we Brazilians will keep fighting for what’s is ours! I don’t see organizations, artists, or Americans so much involved with the wild fires that happens in California every year! Why???

I went vegan 5 weeks ago. It hasn't been as hard as I thought. I love lightlife and Follow Your Heart brands. Also losing about a lb or two a week. It's been worth it. They think I may have lupus so I'm also doing it for health reasons. But if we can't save our world what good is it to have health under control??? We have to start thinking of ourselves, animals and our planet ❤️ we have a beautiful Earth 🌎

This is basically emphasizing what the regenerative agriculture is saying. All those plant based burger are made from soy and the fact Brazil has refused to practice regenerative agriculture is the problem
@HealingLifeKwikly4 жыл бұрын
No, that's not how that math works--and the problem here isn't regenerative agriculture as much as it is simply meat consumption. Eating plant foods (soyburgers whatever) is vastly more efficient in terms of land use than is eating meat. How much more efficient? It takes SIXTY times as much land to raise 100 grams of protein from beef as from peas. An omnivorous diet uses FIVE TIMES as much land as an isocaloric vegan one does. So even if they were practicing regenerative farming, there simply isn't enough land on Earth for everyone to eat as much meat as Americans do. And because westerners eat so much meat, rainforests had to be chopped down to make more land for grazing and soya to feed to the cattle. The main solution is people must eat less meat (especially beef, goat, and lamb) or eat lab-grown meat. Global meat consumption must decline dramatically or we cannot heal Earth's ecosystems or win in our fight against global warming. Take care.

Did you all miss the part about Soy plantations on the Amazon lands?
@HealingLifeKwikly4 жыл бұрын
The soy is mainly to feed cattle: Over 70% of the deforestation of the Amazon was caused by ranchers--to create new land to graze cattle or grow soya to feed their cattle. The research is very clear on that, and in recent years, 80% of the deforestation was driven by demand for beef. To save the Amazon, global beef consumption must drop sharply. End of story.

If you were stranded in nature and had to choose from eating an animal or yourself Im pretty sure most people would have chosen the animal. Well at the moment vegans are choosing to eat themselves (their own bodyfat) over animals. Crazy times
