I am an American guy and I lived in Mexico for almost two years. Most of these rude things apply to the US as well. When I moved to Mexico to polish my Spanish, many male Mexicans thought they could trick me into paying more for things and make fun of me at the same time. Many would say bad things about the US all the time. I would just play dumb as if I did not understand them at all. My Mexican female friends knew I understood everything being said. One day, I saw a male shop owner who was badmouthing a older Mexican guy walking with his young daughter. This owner knew I was an American but he had no clue I understood Spanish nor that I could speak it. He was just a machista being rude. I walked over and told the guy off in Spanish. Upon hearing me speak Spanish, his mouth hit the ground. As I was talking, the older man and daughter were able to leave. The shop owner became angry but he could not do anything to me. From that time on, he always gave evil looks. He really hated seeing me walking with my Mexican girlfriend.

The chica that worked at the laundromat I went to in Mexico rarely greeted me unless I greeted her first, and even that was weird sometimes. Her explanation was that she never wanted to say hi or bye but rather an interaction that kept on going. A greeting would have given it all "boundaries", in her words, which she didn't want. Even when I would wish her a good night on Whatsapp, she never responded in kind.

No comprendo el uso de "porque" en la oracion "si no te gusta algo que te ofrecen, no tienes porque andar anunciandolo". ¿es correcto? Yo sabia que "no tener que" significa "to not have to" pero "no tener porque" parece significa "to not have because" cual no es lo mismo. En ingles la oracion parece significa "If you don't like something that is offered to you, you don't have because run around announcing it".

No me gusta la comida Mexicana, me encanta la comida Mexicana. After Mountain Biking today I tried to get a Burrito at a taco truck in Salem, Oregon(4.7 stars) but they didn't take credit cards😢.
