Banks Power

2 жыл бұрын

This is what happened in the final hours before LokJaw, our supercharged Duramax diesel-swapped Chevy C20, was to debut at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. All hands were on deck. Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, friends, family, fabricators… anyone who could turn a wrench was invited to join in. You may have heard of or seen the hashtag #semacrunch. This is what it looks like.

Good job completing lockjaw. I swear in one of the first episodes Gale said this be a garage build that any guy could do.... This episode we have a third of the best builders in SOCAL trying to get it done in time for SEMA. 10 months and 1 week for SEMA doesn't seem like a garage build any guy could do.
@bankspower
@bankspower 2 жыл бұрын
Gale said that anyone could build this truck.. but it would simply take them longer. And in this case, much longer. But we still maintain that it could be made in a garage... assuming that garage was equipped with a plasma table.

I was thinking of an Allison or 10L90 behind my custom truck cammed LR4, with a 11.5AAM FF rear, LSD if possible. 285,305,33" MTs out back on a combo suspension/body lift that keeps a higher rake out back for hauling, additional leaf and overload leafs, color chromed stock wheels. Custom ttue push bumper in front, step bumper out back.

2k hp driveshaft... id be worried to run that if this was going to be a true driven truck... that engine is aiming to make what, 1500hp? its going to be double that in torque.... way above the driveshaft handling if it ever saw traction from a dead launch

Monday through Friday, Banks designs and manufacturers performance parts and engines. That's the company's primary function. Special projects like this one are done in our spare time. Seriously, in our spare time. If we stop making parts, we stop making money. So, shifting staff over to a special project like this doesn't happen until the last moment when there's no other choice. Banks is not alone. You'll find every aftermarket manufacturer in the same boat. They end up doing the bulk of their specialty project build at the last minute.
