As someone who has owned a trucking company for 3 years now, and my wife running/owning a a large coffee/wine bar for 2.5 years, this video hits the nail on the head 100%. And on top of this, you feel alone/secluded in these feelings because you only can relate with other full time entrepreneurs. You feel alone hanging out with your friends who have jobs of working for other firms or people. You have a hard time getting people to understand barriers in growth with something that is out of your control (ie insurance), and that it still looks like it's all on you. They assume you can work whenever you want or can take a break whenever you want, yet have never been in the position to where it's even harder to take a break because you know you could be doing more. This is all true, and very hard to articulate it to your peers. Thank you for making this video to articulate this to others.

Not feeling alone is, in part, why I love LinkedIn as a community. I'm surrounded by people that are likeminded and going through a lot of the same things I'm going through. It also allows me to pour in and give back to those that are behind me blazing their own trails. I'm not married to the network, and am very aware it's still 'rented real estate', but there's power in people, and power in stories and transparency (like what Anthony is sharing here). No one needs that more than the ones that are out front on the battle lines making it happen for everyone else.

Entrepreneurship is not for the weak. You're 1 man show. As a clothing brand owner, I'm the fashion designer, web designer, content creator, marketer, accountant, manufacturer. It's very hard. And at the beginning you don't see the money comes in, and you have to keep going.

Exactly right. Just gotta keep moving forward despite all the self-doubt.

I started working for myself because I cannot work for others. I actively rebel against authority. And first I thought I was the problem, and I got depressed. But I took the jump and have made it work. Although it has been tough at times, it is worth it!

This video nailed what really being an entrepreneur is like. Difficulty multiplies even more so when you are starting a product from a clean slate or entering an industry with a product that is expensive to develop or regulated. This may be why you don’t see too many people developing commercial airliners or starting car companies. This might not be the most popular opinion, but I think most people are better suited being employees.
@AnthonyVicino11 ай бұрын
It's an unpopular opinion, but I agree with it.

Hi Anthony, this is the perfect video that describes what I’m going through, exactly what I’ve experienced after leaving the corporate world of 15+ years. I think one other challenge is the financial management and the unexpected length of the runway you need to persist in the game, any thoughts or advice on how to survive long enough to keep going? Everyone in my old world keeps pushing to go back to work to regain stability and straddle and the new world of entrepreneurial friends suggest the opposite and persist despite bleeding money and find ways to persist like you’re life depends on it, going back to work is the easy solution but the ignorance tax I’m paying is getting costly…an internal battle I’m constantly fighting every day…

I've been "studying" forex, tax strategies and investing strategies for years now, and am starting to feel really embarrassed for not having anything to show for all of my time and effort. I way overcomplicate and overthink things, ruminating over the same questions and stresses for months or even years (!) As I pace around the house like a caged tiger wondering about xyz (tax questions, usually...) my 9-5 friends casually mention how they simply enrolled in an automated AI futures day trading app that they saw when they were scrolling through FB, and are now making profits. Why don't I just do that, they ask? Sigh. I don't know. Because apparently I want to waste my entire life suffering in agony trying to be the tortoise and not the hare, because the tortoise wins the race in the end...right? (Right?)

If hearing the truth of entrepreneurship talks you out of starting a business, then good... you were never going to make it through the reality of building a business. I'm not here to spread rainbows and sunshine. I'm here to help people become the highest and best version of themselves, and for a lot of people that means NOT becoming an entrepreneur.
