This actually makes a lot of sense, and although I’m not 100% sold on it and I definitely don’t think Scott intended this from the beginning, I could easily see the reason he invented Agony so late in the story was to explain why Afton wouldn’t die, just become springtrap, then scraptrap, then glitchtrap, then burntrap, and possibly next, blobtrap. It’s an odd FNAF theory, but aren’t they all?

However I don't think that all of the reminat within him is gone because, the blob a creature composed of just agony does not have intelligence so its my thought that afton is using agony as a coating for his reminat keeping it safe and him alive

true, i think it gets boring to bring a villain back over & over with the idea that he’s ‘died’ every time. it’s tiring after awhile but i also love springtrap as a villain and don’t mind him being brought back in security breach. I just wish they did more with it instead of basically burning him alive again. the whole thing felt lazy because they focused more on the game looking pretty then the stuff FNAF fans really care about like lore, cutscenes, and cliff hanger like endings.

It would have been fine if Security Breach hadn't tried so hard to be kid friendly. FNAF games aren't just jumpscares. There should also be a building sense of dread and THAT is what Security Breach was missing. imo Afton's return should have been foreshadowed and there should have been more creepy logs like someone swearing they heard a child crying for help at Roxie Raceway but being unable to find them.

The theory is actually something I've believed in this past 7 months, and it may actually be true. In William's salvaging section of FNAF 6, you can hear William's heart beating before he attacks Michael. The in-game files of FNAF 6 actually confirm this heartbeat belongs to William, the sound is played to let the player know when William is about to attack. The other animatronics you can salvage also make different sounds before they attack you, like for example, Lefty makes a whirring noise of a music box before she attacks. But basically, it confirms William never died by the springlocks, and is in fact still alive. And the reason I think that, is like you said, the way William was springlocked caused him so much agonizing pain that it gave him exactly what he wanted; immortality. In William's own words when describing a death by springlocks, he remarks "You will know you're dying for a very long time," (Silver Eyes) so in that case, William would've had such a slow "death" that his agony stops him from dying, but keeps him in a constant state of pain. Agony can actually regrow flesh and bones, and thats literally what we see in Scraptrap's design, he grows back the skin on his face, his ears, and if you look closely at his model, his femur bones too. Taking a look at Burntrap's design, you see the same thing happening; his teeth fully grow back, and he grows bone-like fingers on his glamrock-endo arms. Edit: And agony would explain why fires can't kill him; agony is literally created by pain, so burning him would actually make him even more powerful. Edit 2 : Agony is also capable of creating illusions and hallucinations, so that would explain why we see the Phantoms in FNAF 3.

For your "Edit 2" that may also explain a story in Fazbear Frights. In the story "Dancing with me" a woman encounters glasses that allow her to see a dancing Ballora. Yet this Ballora isn't physically there, yet can still interact with the environment, like rustling leaves. While a ghost doesn't explain it (as it is plastic glasses, not a robot), Agony infecting it does.

I think Springtrap is both remnant and agony, agony from the pain he felt during death, and his soul not being able to move on, leaving remnant there. Springtrap is a soup of remnant and agony, but Scraptrap might have less remnant and/or more agony. I agree with you that Glitchtrap is possibly pure, concentrated agony. My theory is that after FNaF3, William abandoned the Springtrap suit, prolly due to the endo hindering his movement, and got the Scraptrap suit. During this exchange of suits, some remnant, lingered in the Springtrap suit, which Vanny used to make the Burntrap suit.

This is perfect, it fixes William's issue perfectly. Also, Glitchtrap's/Malhare's original design in VR was to be a glitched Springtrap, the very suit in which he suffered so much agony; and the scene he appears in is a recreation of the missing children incident a reenactment of the killing that caused said agony.
@mrsirdba

A few things I thought of while watching the video: -What if when remnant is destroyed, the soul is released, yet if the soul isn’t at rest it doesn’t want to go, so it lurks as a ghost, waiting until it can find a new thing to possess, which is why Molten Freddy, Scrap Baby and Lefty all were saved in the fire, because they either wanted to be freed from tue remnant or they were convinced by Henry’s monologue -what if a soul can work even if it’s separated, one part of the soul goes to purgatory in UCN and the other part stays in the hard drives and becomes Glitchtrap, who eventually becomes Vanny and Burntrap is just the the soul stuck in purgatory being brought back to the land of the living -what if it’s Agony that protects remnant, such as in the FNaF 6 ending, the agony of the 3 animatronics was eased, allowing for the destruction of the remnant, however the Agony of Afton is eternal, which means only part of his soul was released, the rest protected by agony
@tinaherr3856

While we are posing questions about Agony and Remmnant, how about this? -What if Agony can bring something to life that *isn't* a murder bot like the Blob? *original FNAF trilogy spoilers BTW ** I believe it can. Based on some wording and details in the Fourth Closet, I believe that a character in the original FNAF book trilogy ( The Silver Eyes, The Twisted Ones, and The Fourth Closet) is an Agony being. * *true spoiler warning again* In the Fourth Closet, it's revealed that Charlie, the protagonist and Henry's daughter in the book universe, is a robot made by Henry after the death of Sammy in Freadbear's. The interesting thing is, Charlie *isn't* possessed by a spirit. Afton is so interested in her for thst reason. After the revelation, during a flashback (cause it's dramatic that way) Circus Baby says something interesting. While Henry is holding a toddler Charlie form, Baby says that he poured his misery and grief into the doll/robot toddler. Since Charlie isn't possessed, and that we know that Agony is created from strong human emotions, like agony and suffering (say, immense sadness after a loss), I believe that Charlie in the books is an Agony being. If true, then this leads the possibility open to more, less hostile Agony beings, for both the future and the past. Take the Paper Pals, who can move around, the dancing Minirenas, or the mysterious story teller Candy Cadet. They shouldn't be possessed, but still act weirdly. Heck, maybe some of the arcade machines are filled with Agony, because there were notes in Security Breach about how some would end up in weird places and it never really got resolved. And that's not even mentioning the Sun minigame or Princess Quest
@mrsirdba
@mrsirdba Жыл бұрын
@@tinaherr3856 that is a very interesting theory, and it would explain how Charlie works, though there is the alternative of her having an AI on the same levels as the glamrock animatronics, though I might propose another question: -What if "Agony" doesnt need the emotion Agony to work? What if emotions of any type can work as long as its strong enough, however the FNaF universe being the FNaF universe the emotional energy spawns the most commonly from Agony
@tinaherr3856
@tinaherr3856 Жыл бұрын
@@mrsirdba the advanced AI explanation is possible, but the detail about Henry's grief being poured into Charlie seems to similar to Agony it just makes sense to me for it to be true. On the subject of other emotions, the books also touch on it. Dr. Phineas Taggart, in his explanation about Agony, states that agony is the most powerful emotion, hence why it can bring things to life. Though, other emotions may still have *some small*, just nowhere near the levels of Agony. In the Silver Eyes, Charlie and Marla talk about how people's memories and emotions about a places can have an affect of others, like a person feeling an emotion for a second, then that feeling fading. So emotions can sort of affect their surroundings, but Agony is the strongest and the one with the) actual affect if it's surroundings other than making people feel things
@robxholicfoxyfan8552
@robxholicfoxyfan8552 Жыл бұрын
@@mrsirdba Also to add to what Tina and you mentioned, other emotions can act as a direction for how an agony fueled being operates, presents itself, or feels. The different robots of Charlie each were prone to specific emotions due to how Henry felt while building them at the time. Small toddler Charlie cried a lot due to her father's sadness, Little kid Charlie was deeply infatuated with her father's attention and approval, and Adult Charlie was angry not due to being neglected by both Henry and William as Circus Baby and Elizabeth combined (even if it didn't help), but instead was fueled by agony and directed by Henry's anger due to realizing he went mad and wasn't satisfied with how Adult Charlie/Baby came out. For anyone slightly confused, Baby is Adult Charlie because of William tampering with her.
@--CHARLIE--
@--CHARLIE-- Жыл бұрын
@@tinaherr3856 finally, somone else brings up that emotions affecting stuff has been hinted at since TSE. Also, to add to your point, by the time TFC rolls around, that universes Afton knows about agony. He monologs at one point about how the spirit follows the pain, and the pain follows the flesh. I get what he's saying, but it also probably makes some kind of point on how agony works in relation to souls and remnant, one I don't fully get, but I feel is likely relevant here as well.
@sayansaha155
@sayansaha155 Жыл бұрын
Also about agony, since being springlocked William has found a stable source of agony. With every step he takes, every movement his dead springlocked body makes he feels pain. Immense pain. That pain becomes agony that adds on to his pain event more creating a sort of perpetual motion machine. Agony I think also amplifies remnant since fire can destroy remnant. So William should be gone like the other spirits, but his extreme agony allows his remnant to persevere, grow more powerful. I don't think William can ever be killed. He will always exist in some form.

I've always like the idea of glitchtrap being the new villain, Working through Vanny. A metaphorical AND metaphysical representation of William's sins and the tragedies of the Fazbear franchise. If the new Afton is just a spiritual doppelganger of William, Then this makes my thoughts on him even closer to the truth. Glitchtrap is just a memory given form, The memories of the past traumas of Freddy's. It should of stayed buried, Like Henry said back in Pizza sim: "This place will not be remembered, And the memory of everything that started this can finally begin to fade away, As the agony of every tragedy should." Unfortunately, Afton isn't the only one who keeps coming back. Fazbear ent. can't seem to let go of the past, Even making light of it with the VR game. It really wouldn't surprise me if the higher-ups at Fazbear ent. know more than they're letting on.

There's a few ways we know how to get rid of agony. Before that, I'll preface that Talbert, one of the people in the Fazbear Frights books specializing in Remnant, essentially explains it as "haunted metal". Now considering that Phineas and Talbert were close friends and most likely working together on this in some way, you'd assume Phineas and Talbert work under the same terminology. "Haunted" is essentially just another way of saying "infected by emotions". Phineas was right to assume that agony was in those objects, but he made a fatal mistake; He didn't believe in spirits, which caused him to be killed by the Stitchwraith. Spirits latch onto their agony, and follow it. So, Remnant's just agony-infected metal, which explains why spirits follow it. As William himself says, "the spirit follows the flesh, it would seem, but also the pain". The reason that's important to mention, is because the Frights show one way to get rid of agony, and one other way to nulify it. The first is heat. Jake uses intense heat to burn agony out of Larson, with only enough remaining for him to get visions of the ballpit. That's probably just because some agony was already in his bloodstream, though. The second is, you give people their Happiest Day. Overwrite the tragedy that caused the agony in the first place with something nice, effectively making the pain fade. William is indeed still around because of agony, and the funniest part about it all is, the more you try to torture him, the more likely he is to stick around.

Personally, I view it as Afton being a curse on freddy's. Fazbear entertainment is a cartoonishly corrupt company. They cut as many corners as they can at the expense of customer and worker safety, they hide any of the myriad of tragedies that befell their locations, and as the attractions they use grow more advanced, it seems like even worse things happen. And above all, with Freddy;s locations constantly being tainted with tragedy, they just keep pushing out more stuff, thus causing more tragedy. More agony. This makes the entire company the perfect breeding ground for Afton to strike, akin to having an infection and picking the signs of it off instead of getting treatment. My theory is that, due to how horrible at running a company the heads of Fazbear Entertainment are, each location or service provided by them produce a either an inherent source of agony or a unique form of agony, drawing Afton back like a moth to a flame. And there is no way Fazbear Ent. is changing anytime soon, so Afton will inevitably keep clawing his way back into it's rotten underbelly

This got me thinking of things that could heal his agony. Removing him from the suit, I don't think it'd be very likely just because of how gruesome that would be but getting rid of that could help him let go. The spirit of Cassidy forgiving him. I think this could be likely given it seems she's set on torturing him but I feel like there is little I really know about Cassidy that I know and if there's still remnant or if it's only agony left in Cassidy. Crying child forgiving him. If these things got set off by the crying child dying in the bite of 83, knowing that he's forgiven might make his agony move on. If Crying childs spirit is somehow inside of Greggory, it could be him remembering that part of who he is and letting William's agony move on.

Plus the fact that there was still enough of Afton left over for Cassidy(?) to trap in an endless nightmare until Afton was freed as Glitchtrap in Help Wanted.

I actually had a very simular theory. The reason Springtrap seems to be a lot sturdier and able to survive fire is because the way he died must have made an insane amount if agony. William in the books has said that being "sprung" is a very slow and painfull way to die. And (from what we know) William is one of the only people that actually died inside the suit, instead of being stuffed there after death. A child killed and then stuffed inside a suit would have no chance of infecting the robot with a large amount of agony if it already died.(this is going by the assumtion that only living beings can create agony, not remnant/souls). On the other hand, william being impaled by the robotic parts of spring bonnie literally had the suit both inside of him and compleatly covering his body, forcing all his agony to merge with the suit. Anyway if anyone has something to say/add to this theory please reply to this, would love to see some opinions on this:)

What about all the other emotions? Agony may be the strongest emotions there is, but that doesn't discount all the others from existing. If we're going to delve into emotional alchemy, we might as well delve into the other other elements. Who knows, maybe the counteragent to agony is love. Also, fire has to be one of the most agonizing ways to die. It probably amplified, purified, whatever agony was already there.

One thing to note is that in Fnaf 6 William was aware that the noises weren't actually kids he says "what a deceptive calling. I knew it was a lie the moment I heard it obviously, but it is intriguing nonetheless." He knows that his target isn't real yet his agony and hatred of the kids pushes him to keep looking for something that he knows isn't there. Despite him being him being the smartest animatronic in Fnaf 6 he still falls victim to the same tricks that set the other kids free.

Btw, here's a more detailed explanation of agony. First of all, all emotions have some kind of power, not just agony. In one of the stories, Anger is the emotion that ends up causing havoc. "It emanates from us or is excreted from us, if you will, like sweat or tears, and it wafts outward like a noxious cloud, soaking into the surroundings." - The character Phineas, from the books explaining emotions. "Extreme human emotion appears to impact its surroundings far more powerfully the more negative it is. Agony, I’m convinced, radiates farther from people than any other emotion" And , this is how according to Doctor Phineas, Agony gives life to things: "My work is focused on my hypothesis that you can take a saturation of agony, add any kind of intelligence-even an artificial one- and they will combine together to transmute the energy of emotion into the energy of physical action. This, I believe, is what explains what people call ‘haunted’ objects.” So it appears items can be charged with agony, but only animatronics, toys, and robots can be brought to life with it. In his experiments, Phineas has items related to tragedies, such a mirror that was in the same room where a man murdered a family. The mirror is charged with agony but it can't just walk around. Like Phineas said, things need an artificial intelligence. I'm still reading and taking notes of all the Fazbear's Frights books, but i know that down the line another scientist will be introduced, and his experiments are all about Remnant, so i'll post a comment here or in another video , showing his explanations for remnant.

Emotions having an affect on physical things appeared a lot in the books though I believe only Agony had the impact to truly cause a more significant affect (Anger from a soul is less emotion, and a bit more soul Remmnant stuff in my opinion). Actually, the idea of emotions having an effect on their environment first appeared in the original FNAF novel trilogy. In the Silver Eyes, Marla talks about how sometimes a person's memories have an affect on places, like her grandmother's doll room. " 'Maybe they are,' Marla said. 'I don't know sometimes I have little moments where it's like there's something I forgot, something I regret, or that I'm happy about, or something that makes me want to cry, but it's only there for a split second. Then it's gone. Maybe we're all shedding our fear and regret and hope everywhere we go, and we're catching traces of people we've never met. Maybe it's everywhere.' ". So the idea of emotions affecting things has been around for a while in FNAF. This also kind of supports my "Charlie is an Agony being" theory, given that these ideas were present from the very beginning of the novels. But hey, that's just a theory, a game (or book) theory!

This is actually a very interesting take on things. I may have to explore this idea in my fanfic as a possible way to drive my plot forward. As to how to destroy Agony, I have 3 main thoughts on it: 1- nullify it with happy memories of pleasant times. The agony is thus supplanted with pleasure, an equally as powerful but opposite emotion or sensation, one that's derived from living well, whereas agony is derived from failure and moving towards death. However, in the case of someone who's wholly insane to the degree Afton is, this approach may not work. What he'd regard as pleasure would not be true pleasure, but a twisted approximation of it, call this fake pleasure GLEE. GLEE won't free Agony as it's part Agony itself. Only true and pure pleasure will do this. 2- Take the entirety of the substance infused with the Agony (or at least enough so that insufficient traces Agony could remain to affect anything) and utterly destroy the Agony infused objects. This could be done by a big enough explosion, a super hot fire (eg fueled by Thermite) or immersion in a large lava flow so the substance is so diluted in molten rock there is insufficient concentrations of Agony in any one place to affect anything. 3- Time heals all wounds. Perhaps even agony. Perhaps agony decays over time much as radioactive substances do, and given enough time of being undisturbed it would eventually just fade away. The amount of time required would depend on how strong and concentrated the agony is, and on how fast Agony decays or fades in general. Since William Afton is constantly being disturbed after no more then a decade or so, it's possible that keeps refreshing his supply of Agony before it has a chance to fully dissipate. If he were to be treated like a spent uranium nuclear fuel rod, and kept in a concrete tomb far underground where no one could find him for centuries, it's possible that could be enough time to let his Agony just fade away into effectively nothing. EDIT: I just had another thought. perhaps Williams's Agony is so hard to relive because it's not being entirely fueled by his SpringLock Failure death, but also by some Agony inducing experience from his early life that turned him into the psychopath he became, and he's been a creature of Agony even before he died. To Achieve #1 and nullify his Agony, would require someone to unlock that incident and give William Relief form that long ago thing, which could then allow all Agony that's build up on it since then to unravel and be nullified by true pleasure.

Interesting ideas. I don't entirely agree with #3, because then Afton would have lost his Agony long ago, and the whole theme on the series is beings holding on long after they should have moved on. Still, the other two are Interesting. Though Dr. Phineas Taggart (the guy who introduced us to Agony) said that Agony is the strongest human emotion. So it would take a *lot* of strong, positive vibes to beat someone of Afton/the Blob's scale. Total destruction seems solid, can't possess something that doesn't exist anymore. As for Afton's past trauma idea that you proposed, may I remind you that he lost two of his young children to animitronics he made, Elizabeth to Circus Baby, Crying Child to Fredbear. He was also stuck in a decaying, empty room for many years, so the isolation and extreme boredom wasn't doing him any favors. He also may or may not have lost the speculated Mrs. Afton, assuming that he didn't adopt his kids.
@Seriously_Unserious
@Seriously_Unserious Жыл бұрын
@@tinaherr3856 All valid points. For #3, that depends on how long and in what way Agony dissipates. If it's like radioactive isotopes, it would decay based on a half life, an decrease on a logarithmic scale. just to apply arbitrary numbers to illustrate, let's say Original Freddy is possessed by 100 units of Agony, and Agony has a half life of 100 years, then after 100 years of no new injections of Agony, he would have 50 Agony left, then in another 100 years (200 from intial Agony possession) he'd be down to 25 Agony, and it would keep declining in this way until it's down to an infinitesimal fraction where the amount's so small it no longer matters. This half life could be any number, 1 year, 10 years, 3 years or whatever. This would mean that Springtrap could have a large enough amount of Agony and the Agony disputes slowly enough that there's still plenty left 2 or so decades later when the Fazbear Frights people open up the room Springtrap's been locked in all that time. When he gets burned, he accumulates a new charge of Agony. Same for when he gets burned again later, in the FFPS fire. When his soul's trapped in the UCN hell/nightmare, he begins continuous accumulation of Agony.

@@tinaherr3856 As for the other, Pleasure is on the same emotional spectrum as Agony, it's just it's opposite, so would be the same strength as Agony. So at the negative end would be Agony, at the positive end would be Pleasure.
@tinaherr3856
@tinaherr3856 Жыл бұрын
@@Seriously_Unserious it's opposite, yes. But being just as strong, I'm not so sure. Dr. Phineas Taggart said that agony is the most powerful emotion. Which makes sense, in a way. How may places of immense happiness do you know of? How many happy places have spirits hanging around? In the FNAF universe, Agony is the strongest emotion. It *can* still be countered by positive emotions based on some stuff from the books, but the method/situation is...complicated. The character Jake, while in the Stitchwraith body, could go into people's memories and evoke emotions. However, Jake is kind of a mess in terms of concepts. He is possessing a machine, which means he has Remmnant, but the vessel is a creation infused with Agony (and maybe? has/has a consciousness in the beginning). Not to mention, the Stitchwraith body was also inhabited by two other souls, a dead boy, and Afton himself. Jake was also going into people's memories which brings in the mind into the equation. So who really knows how the Positivity vs Agony thing really works. Also, your comment about the half-life of Agony brought up and of math and science classes memories. Still don't entirely agree eith the notion that Agony can fade, given that it's entire thing is that it is emotion that persists long after the person that was feeling it left. Then you would just have to trap Afton/the Blob in a place, and wait for it to fade away. Given that the Pizzaplex is in ruins, that would be kind of lame. It would also contradict the aspect of "haunted" objects actually being infused with Agony, which was brought up in Dr. Phineas Taggart's introduction to Agony
@Seriously_Unserious
@Seriously_Unserious Жыл бұрын
@@tinaherr3856 just because pleasure doesn't lead to hauntings does not mean it's weaker. It just means someone who dies after having lived a good life feels no need to stick around for unfinished business, they just don't have any, or at least nothing worth hanging around for. Things they felt needed to be said were said, things they felt important to do were done, and there's no major incident they need to set right. They're ready to depart to whatever comes next. Someone in Agony, has unfinished business. Some wrong to set right, or at least a very strongly perceived wrong. Or they're batshit crazy and in Agony from insanity. As for William, something I meant to mention before re your first reply, The incidents you mentioned would definitely be points of pain in his life, but I'm thinking something earlier as a first point of pain. Something that may have happened to or around him in early childhood or even before birth, while in momma's womb. Something that set the stage for the psychopath Afton would one day become. Those things you mentioned may be links on the Pain Chain for Afton, links that if followed, could lead back to where it started and address "The First Agony," if you will. I know that's not currently cannon, but just an idea I thought of as to how one COULD handle agony, since no real cannon solution has been presented yet, at least not in any major way. As for the it could dissipate over time, that's taken from the proverb "time heals all wounds." and speculating at a possible way it could be applied to the in universe concept of Agony.

I believe that Agony doesn't just create beings of hatred, like the Blob or maybe Burntrap. It all links back to the original book trilogy *spoilers for the books In the Fourth Closet, it is revealed that the series protagonist, Charlie, is not a human girl. She is a robot created by Henry, after the death of his son Sammy. But the thing is, Charlie isn't possessed by a soul, nor do they contain Remmnant. A sapient creation nor fueled by a murdered kid, which interested that universe's Afton. However, I believe that Charlie was brought to life by another source, Agony. During the reveal, Charlie gets flashbacks confirming her new truth, with some explanations from Circus Baby. Baby says something interesting, that Henry would cry and pour his grief into the toddler form of Charlie. Given that Agony can bring things to life, and is formed by human suffering, I believe Charlie was given life through the grief of Henry, his agony over Sammy's death. If my theory is correct, then this means that Agony can create being that aren't just murder bots, but true (mechanical). This could potentially lead to new characters that aren't possessed, or turn up answers about previous characters that don't have a fixed soul, like JJ, the Paper Pals, and Candy Cadet.

FINALLY! Been waiting for someone else to convey how Afton isn't just some random criminal anymore, but has evolved to become a literal force of nature. Also something to add to this: UCN was designed as a means to torture Afton, perhaps this may have further fueled his agony? We see this in the Fazbear Frights books when Afton's burnt corpse, having been tormented by Andrew's soul, literally explodes. Eventually , Afton's blackened soul literally dominates Andrew (the way it was portrayed in the books was one of the coolest things ever in this franchise's history imo). Its funny how maybe Afton would have died after FNAF 6 if Cassidy just learned to let go of the anger and left him to his demons.

Where we discover they're trying to build him a body, and use it as the climactic ending in a different game. Here, it just seems pointless- he's the bad guy in an otherwise wonky boss fight and is presumably dead again a couple minutes later. Just no fun.

You can't destroy or hurt something that is made by destruction and pain, instead you have to ween it out of reality carefully, reminding it of what it was, converting into a neutral or positive form similar to remnant that CAN be simply destroyed. I spend time on r/fnaftheories, a subreddit dedicated to fnaf theories and the people who comment there are very knowledgeable in fnaf. According to most of the users on there, remnant is just metal inflicted with agony (and because of this, it also has a soul). In the novel trilogy, what we see is one of the forms of remnant. The purpose of remnant is to show how possession works, according to William in the novels, spirits follow the pain and the flesh, so using the mci as an example, when the children are killed, their agony is on the animatronics but only when the bodies are stuffed into the suits by the puppet can the spirits actually possess the animatronic. So looking at Springtrap, in order for William to possess Springtrap, his agony has to be on the suit and because he was actually in the suit, he was able to possess it. This is also why the fire wasn’t able to free the spirits, but Happiest day is able to. Because the only way to get rid of the spirits is by getting rid of their agony, which is what Happiest Day does, it puts them in a happy place and this gets rid of their agony and allows them to rest. If this is true, then it unfortunately debunks Matpats newest theory because if the blob has agony in it, that means that the spirits are not gone. Also, to mention the fnaf 6 blueprints, it specifically says “overheating might neutralize the effects permanently”. What it’s saying is that if you are using remnant to keep yourself alive, if you get set on fire, the remnant will no longer keep you alive. Because the blueprints say that the effects will be neutralized, meaning if you have remnant in you and you are being kept alive by it, fire would make it so that you are no longer being kept alive by it

I think that Burntrap is made up by the mask of Springtrap with Agony, the endoskeleton of Bonnie, and the corpse of the tester of Help Wanted that has Glitchtrap in his mind. This theory pretty much saved the Fnaf lore. Your take was amazing! I really think that both Vanny and Glitchtrap’s plan was for the Blob to assorb Afton so that Afton can take over the Blob! By the way SteelWool seems going into this way as in the poster for RUIN DLC there is the Blob that is hiding. Now my theory for both Help Wanted and Security Breach is that Vanessa was the tape developer who was possessed by Glitchtrap and since Glitchtrap wanted a male body for himself he used the tapes to posses the new tester who is the player in Help Wanted. After that Vanny fused the broken body of Glamrock Bonnie and the newly possed tester by Glitchtrap to create a being similar to Springtrap so that the Blob could assimilate him and so then Glitchtrap/Afton start to posses the Blob. By the way I also really like the theory of Gregory being a robot since it continues the story of the crying child, who by the way I believe was also the endosceleton in Five nights at Freddy’s 2.

Okay so I’ve always had a small headcanon on why old man Willy puts the Spring Bonnie suit on. I’ve always thought it was like this desperate, Hail Mary attempt to intimidate the souls, cause ya know; he was in it when he killed them? Nothing huge, but I think that’s like one of the only reasons I can think of as to why he would even get all up in there.

Remnant was mentioned in Fazbear entertainment security archive ( I Believe) where it talks about remnant when some of the notes are written in Williams writing where he talks about how he finds remnant and how it gave him immortality, which is how he always returns even mentioned in the video, he is a combination of Agony and Remnant.

See i like this it makes sense! It actually ties into my theory that William got into those spare circuit boards in the first place Because of those three old arcade machines in the hidden back room with him when he becomes Springtrap. Think about it, when you rewatch the scene and the suit snaps, blood sprays everywhere and certainly far enough in the scene to reach the arcade cabinets 👀

It’s basically a sense of, William’s soul isn’t still on earth, it’s an “echo” of his Soul, his Agony. The agony he experienced is so potent, it manifests as an energy in the aftermath of the Remnant Soul being burned away. Assuming you can feel the fire, that would cause a ton of agony. The REAL William, is dead. This Glitchtrap AI infested with Agony, is an echo, a message left on a phone if you will. It’s like talking on a phone vs listening to a recorded message, but with Real Souls vs Leftover Agony.

1:10 Thank you. I'm tired of the same old story of William is still alive and his mangled corpse is controlling the suit, which given how nearly nothing is left of his corpse exists to controll the suit in suit mode, I'm a firm believer that he haunts the suit, and he would still be the suit, even if the corpse was cleaned out of it.

Honestly, Afton's Agony is to FNAF what the Curse of Demise is to Zelda. The forms may be different, but they all share the same source.

thinking about it, his son did repossess his own corpse after ennard left him which would be agonizing. So it could make sense. If remnant is the positivity in the soul, Agony would be the negativity if so that would explain why william would have a lot of it. And why his eyes aren't white like usual possessed or undying things used by remnant (ergo fnaf 1 animatronics eyes) But a harsh glowing purple. Purple is the colour of agony white is the colour of remnant.

melting the animatronics doesn't work because that's how they were turned into the remnant that is put into the funtimes (supposedly) in the first place. so it wouldn't work. when they cool down they'll just be solid metal blobs that, I don't know, roll around or something. plus, overheating wasn't a fully confirmed method of defeating them. Afton literally wrote "might" in those blueprints so even he wasn't sure. and you'd think he would have tested that out, so maybe it just causes them to go unconscious and unresponsive, which, from an outsiders perspective, would look like they weren't haunted anymore. until some more undamaged remnant gets introduced to them again and boom they can rampage again. so basically I don't think remnant is out of the ring just yet

I gotta say this makes sense. But is agony alone an emotion? For it to work as described it would have to be an explosive blend of Grief, Rage and Hatred. But at what point would it stop being a blend of the three, and take on an essence as a pure emotion?

It would be sad if the vengeful spirit, in causing agony to William's soul, is allowing it to survive through agony and creating remnant through the desire to once again destroy the vengeful spirit. If they only let go, William would have died, but as his soul couldn't fade away and his agony continued, he was able to resurrect himself, using the vengeful spirit's need for revenge as his own perpetual remnant and agony machine, making him immortal until the spirit lets go
@syweb2

Cool idea, but I have some thoughts regarding this: From what little we've seen, Agony isn't _intelligent._ It is capable of energizing things, but it doesn't have thoughts or plans or coherence like Malhare apparently does. He can't be made of pure Agony, because he would just be a mass of violent anger (sort of like the Blob/Fazbear Amalgamate). There would need to be a pre-created AI or something for Agony to empower, which doesn't seem likely since William just kind of became slag, meaning that his soul has to be at least partially present to become Malhare. From what I understand, The Man in Room 1280 is meant to imply that he was at least partially kept alive by whichever Golden Freddy spirit is tormenting him (I personally believe it's Evan, since William's son has a closer and more personal connection to him and thus would feel more spiteful, plus The One You Should not Have Killed is referred to as a "he"), meaning that he was somehow physically alive after FNaF 6 and he managed to escape UCN by being scanned into the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience.

Personally, I think Afton's soul is still there in full force (the remnant part). Based on what little we know about agony, it acts mostly on instinct rather than with a thought process/strategy. My personal head canon is that after the fnaf 6 fire, Afton's soul got trapped in his own remains, where he was tormented for eternity (UCN), at least until his animatronic parts got scanned into the VR game, where he could escape, and thus manifesting as Glitchtrap. You know what happens next, he brainwashed Vanny and then Security Breach ensus.

I think that Afton's soul (or the main part) is still being tortured by Cassidy. It's a *lot* harder to escape Hell/personal suffering dimension than a decaying room. Also, beings made from Agony may not always be mindless, if a theory of mine about a certain surprise mechanical character from the original novel trilogy is true. Edit: I may tell you the full theiry if you have read the original FNAF novel trilogy (The Silver Eyes, The Twisted Ones, and The Fourth Closet). I don't want to spoil anything

@@RyeToast it actually hints at who the future villain might be. In FF, a character named Eleanor, an animatronic clown girl, causes a huge amount of the events of the book series. The reason she does this is because the entity in her is called the Shadow, an evil black force of Agony born from the evil acts of Afton. It possesses the clown animatronic (which might be a Charlie Bot that Henry gave up on) to trick countless children into taking her home so that She can get around town and cause chaos to absorb the Agony. She is even in the book version of UCN, along side Andrew (a Cassidy parallel) This was meant to explain what Shadow Freddy, Nightmare and Nightmarionne, an entity born from the murder of Charlotte, Afton's first victim. The footprints in Midnight motorist are from Shadow Freddy, luring Evan/CC to Charlotte's body at Fredbear's, causing him to be afraid if the animatronics. We know this due to the Shadow in FF doing a similar thing. And Nightmarionnne says "I am a fearful reflection of what you have created", reffering to how it was given shape the night Afton killed Charlotte. In UCN, Nightmare even says to Afton "I am your wickedness made of flesh". After FFPS, Cassidy keeps Afton alive to torment him with nightmares/UCN, and the Shadow torments Afton as well, taking the form of Nightmare and Nightmarionne. It diesbthis because, though it was born from Afton's evil, it's not actually loyal to him, just like Eleanor in FF, which is that timelines version of the Shadow. Sure, it helps him in FNAF 3, but then abandons him, and even torments him for Agony. The Nightmarionne, another form of the Shadow in the game timeline, takes the form of an evil Marionette because Charlotte was the good that came from that night, a soirit who wants to help people Afton hurt, while the Shadow was the evil that came from that night, an evil monster who will gladly hurt anyone for power. It's basically the anti-Charlotte. Nightmarionne's face is even the main icon for UCN, meaning he is important. And SB hints at Nightmarionne/Shadow playing a bigger role in the future. The Nightmare Staff Bots look like Nightmarionne, the jumpscare sounds similar, and they have "IN YOUR DREAMS" written of their chests, referencing how he was tormenting Afton in UCN along with Cassidy, which was a dream purgatory. And there are also Nightmarionne plushies hidden all over the Pizzaplex, and when you collect one, it's called "Nightmare Plushy", instead of Nightmarionne, hinting at the two being the same character. Maybe Nightmarionne powered Afton up with his Agony after becoming Glitchtrap. Elesmorndoes something similar, where she powers Afton up with Agony to use his lust for bloodshed to her own advantage. Also, just so we are clear, the Shadow and Cassidy are NOT friends. FF shows they were both fighting for control over UCN. Sorry if that was long

I disagree, his death in pizzaria simulator was perfect, having him die with his creations (baby and molten freedy) and his son is a very good way to end him, the best part is that it was all henry's plan so its also good for him since its his revenge for the death of charlotte, also his speech at the end was chilling. These are my own theories, they’ve probably been disproven but I’ma still say em. 1. Why do we assume that it’s Cassidy’s spirit tormenting William and not his son? We know what Aftons are capable of, especially when angered. What if when Evan saw that what his father has done it makes him mad, and that anger increases over the years as he sees his friends suffer? 2. And if it is Cassidy then it makes you think. Their anger is understandable but the fact they’ll go as far as to go to hell with him doesn’t make sense to me. So what if because Cassidy and Evan shared Golden Freddy for so long that their emotions mixed. Evan has all of Cassidy’s kindness while she has all of his anger. Afton Anger. Again, these probably were disproven but that’s my thought process

I feel like agony is put to rest by the oppasite of agony. You can see how Henry's daughter's agony was put to rest by a thanks right? What if agony was put to rest by receiving what you want? Or at least it goes away with being put at ease. If this is true then William cannot be put at ease. But then again this is just a theory i made i will add more onto it. Besides who knows? Two points comes to mind with this. 1 this actually works sorta with my "mind body soul" theory where afton is now split into 3 states, the mind which is digital in the form of glitchtrap, body which is the corpse running around with agony and soul which is whats being tortured into UCN 2. this is something that i feel needs to be said, Steel wool litterally gave themselves an out for the FNAF story that scot made in fnaf VR (help wanted) with the line about the "indie game dev making lies about the company in the FNAF games" which cemented the games we played up to that point as canon items that are in the FNAF universe but not canon to the story line, and as you said they even set up a villan for the next game with vanny but i guess at last min they decided nah lets stick to the classic stuff and basically undid FNAF VR
