Or in how I met your mother, the German guy, he or the screenwriter was so bad in german, they just made up words. Or all this other movies and series with German people. My classmate's brother the year above us grew a full dark brown beard at 16, it was extremely impressive. But they definitely couldn't make him shave it off as it was a fairly multicultural highschool and there were a couple of Sikh guys in the year and not shaving the face is pretty key there. So this white dude had a full beard and probably was the envy of all the guys in the year. He definitely looked much older, although some of the girls definitely looked like they were almost 20.
