Maple Burl! Fantastic table build guys. I like the restraint that you used in the top, letting the epoxy be a subtle accent and letting the walnut do the heavy lifting visually.

Maple burl is awesome stuff. I hope you’ll do one upside down, meaning the burl chunk is up and all the cut off trunks form legs. If you then pour a round table with that flattened burl as the center. Now the tree trunk feet need custom carvings or something to balance the end grain view of the burl cross section as the table top.

Maple Burl: the walnut top is exquisite. I love the color, finish and the grain. The maple base is unique and the stretcher integrates well. Your detailed description of the steps you had to take and of the extended time required shows why the piece is so costly. This is beautiful but I would have died of impatience at the wait. That is my weakness as perfection does take time. Very well done!

I really like the ‘River’ tables and countertops too. Thanks for sharing the link to the full video in the comments of the FB Reel.

Maple Burl ... yet another stunning table ... I'm a fan of using trunks/branches as bases. I made a kitchen table for a friend using some Leylandii I'd cut down a few years back ... I had to rejoin the trunk as I'd cut it in two for ease of moving it about ... like you I had to stabilise the trunk and I used some old oak flooring to build a support structure. The top was made from the logs cut lengthways using a chainsaw ... didn't feel very safe doing that!!

Maple Burl. Very interesting., I really dont mind the stretcher at the floor level, a nice juxtaposition with the burl and the black stain is perfect for it. The burl itself throws up one glaring issue for me and that is why the dark piece of branch or root, whatever! that is sticking out of the side, was not removed. That spoils what otherwise would be a beautiful tree stump base. The Walnut top is amazing, and I love the free form edge and minimal use of resin in this project. All in all a great result . Thank you for sharing. Cheers Michael.

maple burl. its great - bit gilding the lily though. The base, with a thick marine glass top, would rock !! Its like youve got two tables there in one. its the big catch with designing stuff isnt it - one of those NY fashion designers is famous for saying, dress it, then take one thing off. The tactile nature of wood is so pleasing to the eye. its got an energy and a life that is beyond description.
