🔥 VIVIAN’S HOT QUOTES:
"When you're with someone who isn't supportive of you, who isn't there for you, when you really need them, over time, you start to internalize it, and you build up that scar tissue, and you don't think you deserve it anymore. And things can get so bad that you start to think they're the norm, and you don't even realize what else is out there or what types of people are out there who would love you the way you are supposed to be loved and treat you the way you are supposed to be treated."
"You don't want to be called a gold digger…And so women oftentimes very much downplay our need for financial security because we've been literally brainwashed into thinking that if we want financial security or we want stability in our lives, we want wealth. It makes us greedy, it makes us gold diggers, and it makes us shallow."
"I mean, when I was at my media and tech job, I was the youngest person on the team and probably one of the least tenured. And I had a coworker that I was really close with, and I just turned to her one day, and I'm like, I'm about to go ask for more money. What do you make? And at first, she hesitated, and she's like, well, don't tell anyone I told you."
"You have to be beyond reproach. You cannot give anyone a reason to think that you messed up a trade, that you fumbled a client's order, that you even messed up the lunch run. Do not give people a reason to doubt you ever."
“Older women are spoken to as if they are invisible.”
“And sometimes it does feel like if you are not a conventionally attractive woman, you don't get even the meager benefits that subset of women get.”

Nice. The way my wife and I do it is we have our own individual accounts, but we know we're going to be together for ages so we have a joint account and we put cash in there too, and leave just enough in our individual ones for expenses etc.

My life experiences thus far have led me to adopting a philosophy of not relying on anything external (material possessions, another person, or a role such as my profession or being someone’s wife) to be what I need in order to maintain my mental health on a daily basis. Those things that are external from me have the potential to be taken away or to end. If and when they do, yes, I will be upset and possibly changed for the rest of my life…but I’ll survive. I’ll be okay ❤Completely unrelated thought/idea but, in addition to a credit score, it would be interesting if every adult also had a “character score” that measured the quality of their mental and moral attributes 💁🏼‍♀️👍🏻

There is a french journalist Titiou Lecoq who did a article about the fact that women tend to take care of the household spending such as alimentary because their wage are much lower and when the couple is divorcing the women have no claim on the house because they weren't on the house ownership or/and in the house credit, it was only the name of the husband written. In the end, everyone (men AND women) must take accountability in which way they can on the spending of the house with equity in order to have peace and be happy

Ooo this conversation is very important! I feel very bad for women who fall for the relationship financial scam. Do not ever give up your career for a male or a 'fAMiLy' or children. If the man cannot afford a SAHM or cannot afford kids, he should not be gifted any kids, period. I am 31 and own my car and my home. I do not ever want marriage or children.

It’s important for you to decide what you want from life and have the freedom to pursue it and I hope it brings you happiness but at 49 yrs old I can say happiness from my career pales in comparison to the happiness I have experienced as a mother and wife. I am also in a second marriage so I can say picking a good partner is critical.

I have never paid while in date. I can't understand this info: I paid 4 times only. How those things happened? When I was younger and stupid in this field I offered to pay for myself. That guy was from Spain( we met in Germany where cost of date usually is split. Also I am not from there 😅). He said to me: don't be stupid girl. Girls should never pay for themselves. He was my teacher. I am thankful to him. It has been 13 years. I have never paid for the date.

The problem is that when roles are reversed and women make more, men get butt hurt because we’ve still socially conditioned men to be the “main providers” and women to be the accessory. This is also why it is unwise to forfeit working and receiving financial gain to raise families or “take care of” their spouse. If we start out more equal and try to stay more equal, we don’t have these problems near as much, and if that partner cheats, abuses, etc, we feel more power and control to leave. Never ever give up your rights and power, ever.

"One of the biggest heartbreaks is hearing stories of women who have been in relationships sacrificing for the family year after year only to find themselves alone and broke decades later because their partner took all of their money and left them for someone younger and hotter." "In a lot of traditional marriages one person leaves the relationship having a full tenured career and the money that comes with that, and the other person leaves in a really precarious financial situation." "Couples that argue about finances are at least once a week are 30% more likely to get divorced."

The one phrase that didnt come up was finacial abuse. Financial abuse is being in control over the finances so the other person has no option to leave. It can also mean the person is secretive because they are doing illegal stuff on taxes that puts the partner in federa/financiall jeopardy. Laws are just now starting to catch up with this in some states.

We had the same problem with Rotert is in Arizona, and found out at five month on a six month lease that we could’ve broken. I leave without a penalty if we were to have it declared unlivable conditions. Which it was! Roaches were crawling in her bed and down my shirt while nursing her baby. It was disgusting. Today we moved out. I wrote sprawled out and took a bite of our tuna sandwiches as I was making them.

I can't even imagine a polish man (im from Poland) - not cry and laugh when he hears that taking care of home, cooking, cleaning etc, not to mention kids, is a full time JOB. I'm glad though that this culture changes, people are now single or not married longer than before, so even such man start to notice that all this HARD WORK is not doing itself

Love every episode seriously. As long as there are strong and inspiring people I'm always intrigued somehow. Just wanted to comment on one thing though. Woman often downplay a compliment from another female to shut down any jealousy because they KNOW woman can be jealous and mean. Or in case of a "oh it was on sale" comment i noticed i say it to avoid judgements about how i spend my money and the lack thereof.

I narcissistic act of 18 years married whom I did not know his narcissistic at the time, yes please read everything 50-50 and he encouraged me to stay home and take care of the kids and how but it’s called track supply and services when a narcissistic just wants the three answer from her wife/partner. So even though we got 50-50, I had still put him through NBA school and he now travels the world and has millions and I live with two of my grand children in their bedroom at my dog

I have to say I didn’t really like this interview. I felt the guest was really superficial, in that she only chose her husband because “he paid for everything”, there’s more to a relationship than a man who is a financial provider and who resembles daddy. I feel like even if a man was quite successful that what would matter more is that we are able to build something together as a team. Certainly there are users out there of men whose money comes with a high price or they are condescending and disrespectful, but I think a man who really sees how much value you have in his life is really the man who is the best partner. I do have to say though, I really like the guest’s brown stiletto boots 😊

If what this woman describes sounds like the end all be all, you’ll be selling yourself short. I have a professional career, that has included working at fortune 50 companies. I have a beautiful home with a pool and I’ve had a dog. There is no limit to what we can endlessly pursue and these things will never be enough to satisfy us. I understand women’s concerns about bad marriages. I’ve had a bad marriage and I understand the importance of a career to provide financially since I eventually became the bread winner in that marriage. But I also know how absolutely amazing a good marriage is and no loving/generous mentor compares with the deep relationship built with a loving/generous spouse. I also know that having a dog simply cannot be compared to motherhood. It’s hard to find the words to properly describe motherhood but I can say the love and absolutely life changing personal growth that comes from motherhood can’t be compared to things like careers and expensive bags that convey a status symbol.
