Track chains and groups function to allow crawler-type heavy machinery to move efficiently. These track chains and groups are made up of flexible links that are connected together by fittings called pins and bushings.

I was thinking the same thing. No welding hoods, no safety glasses, No protective gear at all. Those long flowing cotton garments may be their culture, but they would burn like they are soaked in gasoline, if the sparks landed on them just right. Scary !! 🥴😖😳

It’s not that bad. Even if touched the eyeball, it would bounce off of it. There is not enough mass in one spark to damage the eyeball. Safety glasses are mostly for comfort and being able to work more precisly because you don’t fear the sparks

@@xl000 from one who has had to dig out these "not that bad" sparks from my eye, I beg to differ. I assume you grind with sparks flashing in your eyes and it's no big deal. good for you. I prefer to keep my eyesight.

@@AffordBindEquipment I agree that in some cases, there may be large chunks that end up in your eyes, depending on the wheel and material, but in my experience of grinding steel with a 125mm grinder, there is nothing left after the combustion ends, and the guard prevents the sparks from going directly to my face.

Hello Amazing T O. That is one tough job. No way to make that easy. Good to see the un killable Toyota truck hauling the fresh track back to work. In the army, the tracks were swapped out about every ten hours of real motoring. The crew had to pound out a carefully chosen pin, let the used track fall off in front, line fresh track up to the join, bang the pin back in, slowly drive tank onto the fresh track until the join came around, pound pin back out, crank fresh track up till the cursed pin could again be banged back. Repeat for other side! Then motor away, hopefully. Usually the bent up tracks were much later hauled off for rebuilding much like in the video, or for metal recycling. The spotless machines in May Day parades? They never looked like that, not even new. Oh please have a small wire cutter on hand to snip off frayed cable strands, those cut hands too easily.

those grouser plates are worn out anyway. they are barely higher than the mounting bolts....justbnarrowing their width wont help with grip. i thought they were going to show a method for recycling the grouser plates to improve them. not simply refit.
