Troy Van is a class act and a great fill in, but he’s no Dave. Perry seems to be re energized. May have to go check em out again.

Agreed. He actually plays some of the parts that Dave doesn't play anymore which I like, but wanders a little more than Dave does for better/worse at times. All said, it's an impossible task and he has obviously put his heart into it. Big ups to him.

Stephen Perkins “A drummers life” DVD has about 13 janes songs w Wes and Tony. Heavily copyrighted. Great DVD to own. 10.00-25.00 bucks. Only found Mountain Song on you tube. “Tony franklin instrumentally jamming janes Addiction with Stephen Perkins and Wes Borland.” On the DVD they play ocean size, blood rag, stop, pigs in zen, been caught stealin, etc. multi angles. (The promo sucks, lacking the janes content) the DVV rocks.

@@latentsea Hmm, well just watching the Mountain Song one, I would not say that he plays them "on point" at all. He plays it kinda with his own style. Troy gets closer to Dave's feel, imo. But I don't think Wes is trying to match Dave as much as Troy is. But that's just based on the Mountain Song one.

Yes I think a highlight for me was seeing Eric back with Janes and seeing him smile made me smile. Friendship that survives all the changes and troubles we have in life as individuals is the kind of friendship that lasts forever and beyond... I hope to see these guys this year, I'll be in Mexico until around August so fingers crossed we cross paths.

What a truly wonderful performance! I love how Troy takes key elements (the most recognizable parts) of Dave's solos and works his own improvisations around them. He's no Navarro but he's a damn good player and has done a fantastic job on this tour. And how cool is it to see Eric back in the mix? I never thought I'd see the day! Oh, and I don't care what anybody says-Etty is seriously sexy. 😀

@@surfmiami Agreed. Saw only one show, and was completely expecting SP to blow Dave-less Jane's away. Couldn't be more opposite. Even without Dave, one cannot express the difference it makes having Avery there. Jane's were clearly the better of the two, and I say that having seen terrible Jane's shows in the past and great Pumpkins shows in the past. Jane's are just nailing the vibe while Billy seems to be playing his anti-mode card yet again. Too bad.

What are you talking about? It literally looked like every one of their shows I’ve been to since 98. They’ve always had “writhing”dancers- usually in cages hanging from the ceiling. Also you should go look up the meaning of crooner while you rock out to nickel back

@@KylewithanL it’s all good. Yeah I saw Jane’s 3 times. 1st time in 89 2nd time in 91 at Bayfront amphitheater in Miami with Suicidal Tendencies opening. 3rd time in 97 with Flea on bass in NYC. Eddy had a small dance part during that show. I think it was in 98 where they started incorporating backup dancers full time. They don’t bother me at all. The 89 show was amazing! Really they all were. 🤘🏻🤙

I used to have a lot of respect for this band but pulling out of shows when half (probably more) of the audience is there to see you? I got to see them on Long Island the 2nd to last show before Perry got "hurt." My guess is after they played MSG he went on some type of drug/alcohol banger and fucked himself up royally. However at 63 he can't bounce back from a couple of bruises like in the 90s.

It's clear it's just a way to insert Etty into the proceedings. Reminds me of another situation like that in the late 60s....
