Hard to believe that that aluminum block V8 at 2:20 is in the process of getting torn down. They must super clean the engine before dismantling it. Very nice shop!!

With the Mountain motors why didn't they use the GMC 637ci bbc with its 5 1/8 " bore

Hang on - spinning lathe, loose cloth, fingers... Just needs a bit of the cloth to catch and the operator might be lucky to just get off with the loss of a few digits - could easily break most of the bones in his hand and arm or, worst case scenarios, have an arm ripped off or be dragged in and crushed. Lathes do kill people - quite some years ago our country's top apprentice machinist was killed when his overalls caught and he was dragged into a lathe. I didn't know him well, he had bought a friend's rally car, but by all accounts was a really nice guy with a great future ahead of him.

I knew an old mechanic that forgot just once to take off his gloves. I got chosen to get his finger off the drill bit, dangling by a bit of skin, so they could reattach it.

Funny how at :37 the bottom right 2 cylinders aren't even correct crosshatches. But I'll watch the rest of the video.
