Ti 92-Plus VS Ti-89 - Two Powerful Calculators From 1998

Handheld version of the 92.
Correction, assembly is available solely for 83 and 84 series I believe.

I used the TI-92 Plus at university in Chile and still have it. What's more, I use it from time to time in my work. My brother has the TI-89 and he still uses it in his work today as well. Both are excellent calculators and are literally built to last a lifetime. Regards.

I studied at the Poznań Uniwersity of Technology in Poland in 1997-2002. In College, I used a Texas Ti-82. After graduating, I purchase a never Casio FX2.0 Algebra and Texas TI-89Tytanium. These two calculators are still used in professional work today. In the past, equipment was made to last for years...

The 92 is pretty cool have a 59 and 89 as well as hp41c,48g,50g and swiss micro 41x

It was use by professionals too in industries. It was not design only for students but professionals Very nice calculator. The best for me

Hope you get to look at and do a video on the Ti-86. In the late 90's it was a great mid-point between the 83/83 and the 89. Probably the best screen out of those 3, higher resolution and more math functions than the 83. Also lower case letters! The version of TI-Basic was closer towards the 89 as well. The programs are less compatible and since the 85/86 wasn't as prolific as the 83, there are less community programs. I think TI didn't continue it to make a gap between the 83/84 and the 89 much wider.

Used both. The 89 is the BEST calculator ever made, IMHO.

There are other country in the world that USA! This format of calculator was authorize in many countries like France where I use it for baccalaureate.

What is the difference in terms of software features between the 89 and 89 titanium? Can the 89 be updated to the firmware version of 89 titanium? Thanks.

The software is essentially identical on both. The titanium will have a few extra functions for algebra and and calculus, but overall you won't be able to tell the difference. A program written on an 89 will run on 89T, by just changing the extension (for the most part). Cross flash is not possible.
