If you get sober you just want to pay it forward it helps to talk about it. Some people do try to use it as a badge of honor though and it's not, but it is a difficult thing to overcome in a person's life and it is similar to surviving cancer or a deadly disease. You want to talk about it and sometimes people go off the rails talking about how crazy they were, but they do it to discourage people and not to really brag about it a lot of the time. Like, I say though some people use it to try to get attention because they have become addicted to the attention, they are addicts. We are all addicted to something. Talking about it too much though and bragging about it is like bragging that you brush your teeth everyday. Thats what you are supposed to do, people aren't supposed to drink everyday all the time. It doesn't really make you special it makes you normal.
