As I watch music reactions I am so jealous of people hearing songs for the first time. I have very few memories of my first time hearing a song. This is one of those. I was driving a beat up old truck in college. I don't remember where I was heading but I remember pulling over to listen. When Johnny hit his knees I teared up. I lived through this situation the day my daughter was born my wife started labor doctor saw baby heartbeat dropping and rushed my wife into surgery for a c section 10 minutes later a nurse brings out my daughter all healthy and good nurse tells me here your daughter follow me we will go upstairs with your daughter your wife still in surgery and she bleeding bad will keep you updated I waiting in the recovery room with my daughter 1 hour then 2 hours no news they then come in and braclet me to match me with the braclet on my daughter. I was so scared thought I was losing her nearly 5 hours after my daughter born they finally bring my wife into recovery where she for the first time got to see our daughter

I heard one interview with Tim and he said originally it was supposed to be ghost running to them and that why he doesn’t say they both were taking him fishing. However everyone that saw the video and sees her at the end just assumed she lived so he just let it be that.

This song confuses absolutely everybody going from the chorus into the second verse. Because any normal brained person automatically assumes that the little girl coming through the gate holding a Pole is his little sister. Because why would a guy and his son take a random neighborhood girl fishing with them. That might have been less crazy when he wrote this song but today a parent would get arrested for letting their child go with a stranger even if they lived in the same neighborhood. Now today the only way a parent wouldn't get in trouble is if they were giving the child to a stranger to let that stranger chop off their sexual parts.
