I did OTR my very first year of trucking and went straight into local as soon as my year was up. I’ve been with my company for 6 years now and I don’t think I’m ever going to leave. Home every day, 4 day work week and paid by the hour. Doesn’t get much better than that. We only have about 180 drivers and we are a private fleet so we always have work. I don’t think I could ever go back to OTR after working here. I wish more people would look into driving for private fleets instead of these big mega carriers hauling whatever they can get their hands on.

Thanks for sharing your experiences behind the scenes. I drive for Prime and have experienced both positive and negative situations as well. You do in all jobs. Some more than others. I can see the divide between drivers, the few who “get it” and those who think they do. Unfortunately, most of those are in the position of influencing our parameters. I’m looking forward to more posts from you. Stay Safe Terry.

Prime is the cleanest shirt in the dirty laundry, sadly the drivers are the pillars of the business but they get treated the worse, your problem is you know too much and you keep lighting new drivers so they don’t get fucked over & thats dangerous for Fraud Inc. as always great video Sir, I Salute you.

Unless someone is walking their dog or really in the weeds it might not be noticeable. I was at that facility one time and there was a dumpster filled to the brim with bacon just sitting in the parking lot baking in the summer sun. My dog was sniffing hard and looking around, but it reeked. You smell lots of nasty stuff around meat plants that might not register.

Is very simple to see what's going on from a dry van perspective after 19 years of otr experience and driving. With the economy as bad as it, buying is way low because of inflation and the end result is stores are only ordering replenishment stock, no excess stock. They scan for outs on the shelf abs only reorder what scans in as zero instead of 0 plus 2,3,4 etc

I don't want to leave. But they are pushing my 2016 out, and my 2022 will be paid off in January. Still considering buy #3 and run 2 with Prime, or just take 2 paid trucks elsewhere. Thinking..... what do you think?
@timtravels1165 ай бұрын
If you have been with them all this time and they’re pushing out a working truck that shows their disloyalty and that they only care about churning people into new trucks. If I had 2 paid off trucks, I’d get my own authority and find a local outbound shipper that has consistent work and then use load boards for backhauls. Based on what I’ve seen recently, Prime doesn’t really have a market advantage anymore (if they ever did).

Mr Travels is it legal for prime to garnish your LLC for child support
@timtravels1165 ай бұрын
Prime has to comply with any court order. If a court found that an LLC wasn’t entitled to the corporate veil, and that the LLC was just a person trying to avoid enforcement of an order for child support, a court might allow a lien on proceeds paid to a corporate entity. Prime isn’t going to try to figure out anything, they’re just going to comply. The LLC being liened (I use lien bc I think that’s the correct legal term) has standing to challenge any such order separate from the person who allegedly owes the child support. All that said, I’d be cautious about child support arrearages because many states have laws that allow a court to have a person’s driver’s and professional licenses suspended for non-payment.
@blkcobra035 ай бұрын
Child support is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. It is also a RACKET runned by the State.

Prime has contracted freight, so the rates get pre set. The tender rejected freight is freight these carriers are contracted to haul, but have to reject it cause they do t have the capacity to haul. So that freight gets sold to a broker or put on n a load board. So with that freight is low that means the carriers with contracted freight have the amount of capacity to haul their agreed to contracts.

When someone trains in a truck they are necessarily giving up things including physical space, freedom, privacy, and intangibles like hearing snoring, smelling another person, or another person not respecting their property. Everyone puts up with something. The question always is whether it’s worth it.
