Interesting market...ow that dessert..looks delicious...looks like the French toast with sponge cake instead...
@HeGoesSheGoes5 жыл бұрын
The dessert was fantastic! We talked about getting a second piece but went with the replacement pastel de nata instead. Thanks for watching! 😀

Just a small side note: "pastel" is singular, "pastéis" is plural. : )
@HeGoesSheGoes5 жыл бұрын
Module79L Oh cool! Thank you for letting us know! :) We had so many pastéis. I wish I had one right know. 😁

@@HeGoesSheGoes Always excited to watch your videos cause I know I'll see yummy food!

@@EmpatheticWanderers Ha! We definitely can't resist eating our way through our trips. One of the best parts of travel for sure. 😀
@EmpatheticWanderers5 жыл бұрын
@@HeGoesSheGoes Absolutely! It also gives such great moments outside of the food! The experience with locals, the environment of a restaurant, the pursuit of a good meal - all makes the travel that much more wonderful!
@HeGoesSheGoes5 жыл бұрын
Empathetic Wanderers We 100% couldn’t agree more! It’s truly one of the best parts of travel. The experience from getting out and enjoying local cuisine is second to none. 😃

Ahhh pasteis de natas I miss you! You're right, there is no way of eating them without getting sugar everywhere...totally worth it though 😄 They became our daily breakfast when we were in Lisbon.
@HeGoesSheGoes5 жыл бұрын
We were sure we were going to like pasteis de nata, but we weren't sure we were going to love them. Turns out we loved them! Even more so when they're fresh from the oven! Amazing. 😋
@OurTravelPlace5 жыл бұрын
@@HeGoesSheGoes Totally get you.... from the description of them neither of us were actually that bothered, but then when you try them...WOW!

My tips: codfish Brás style (Chef Miguel Castro e Silva), octopus hot dog (Sea Me), Port & Tonic to wash it down (Taylor's) and anything by Henrique Sá Pessoa. For dessert, the amazing Abbot of Priscos pudding.

Wow what amazing tips!! We can hardly wait to get back someday and try everything! Thank you for taking the time to share and for watching our video! 😁

Nice, a video where you actually show what you eat ! Most youtubers just say "Oh, we went to timeout market" and show nothing.... Thanks for sharing :)

Ivo Silva Hi Ivo! Thanks so much for watching! So glad you enjoyed the video and seeing our choices. :) We love visiting markets and sharing what we find! Have you been to Time Out market in Lisbon?
@ivosilva27965 жыл бұрын
@@HeGoesSheGoes No never, but since im Portuguese I've had everything that you tried ! By the way, you should have tried the "Traditional" Pão de Ló or "Sponge cake" so you could compare to the chocolate one (the version you tried is a "wet" pão de ló but some are dry) :)
@HeGoesSheGoes5 жыл бұрын
@@ivosilva2796 Agreed! We regretted not getting the traditional sponge cake as well. Next time! :) Thanks again for sharing by the way. We love being able to connect! It's the best part of having a KZbin channel.

Port sangria, hmmm, interesting....what about the galao, was it good? Also visit the Campo de Ourique market, smaller but very interesting...
@HeGoesSheGoes5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Luis! The galao was not as good as we'd hoped, we normally ordered meia-de-leites but wanted to try something new. Campo de Ourique market is on our list for next time! 😀
@HeGoesSheGoes5 жыл бұрын
The port sangria was awesome though! A different approach which we liked.

Do they accept US dollars? Or do I have to get euros ?
@HeGoesSheGoes Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! It's Euros all the way, though it's possible some shops might accept US dollars at their own conversion rate.

No good. We got a fish soup and it was very mediocre, and when I asked for hot sauce (piri piri) they said that they didn't have any. I'll never go to Time Out market again. Thank you.
@HeGoesSheGoes3 жыл бұрын
Oh, that's really unfortunate. Sorry to hear. We were lucky enough to have the opposite experience there. The food we sampled was great!
