Time to wake the beast! Massey 1155 first run for spring!

It’s time to get things underway!! Today I’ll be using my 165 to spread some fertilizer and waking my 1155 from a winters nap to get rolling!

Wow! Happy to see the concrete pad down for the barn I know they go up quick once that’s cured. Always nice to hear the sound of MF Power doing the work. Fluffy, no offense but you look like you might have put on a pound or two over winter-time to get back to work. PS, I was rolling at the end.🤣😂🤣

Find a Pressure control hitch for pull behind implements. They work so good for transferring weight you can bend the tongue, from practical experience at the Delkab Farm Progress show 1974 I think it was with a 33 ft disc in tow.

1100. 1130, 1150. Some of the best looking tractors ever. And pretty reliable tractors for their time. Massey didn’t have strong dealer networks. JD and Case. took over with quiet cabs etc.

What I loved about our 1155 was the sharp turn radius. My 253 also turns on a dime. Wonder if MF built all their two wheel drive tractors to turn that sharp.

I grew up JD green, but have always loved a Massey. We had a irrigation pump with a v8 perkins that thing sounded great also with the 2 foot stacks.

JT. There was a guy named Don Berry who farmed near our dealer in Mexico, Missouri in the 60's and 70's. If Massey made it he owned as many them that he needed. MF gave him serial number 1 for the 1150, the same for the 1155 and the same for the 2800. Awesome fellow! After a pull competition he would pull the heads. If the top of the pistons were not starting to melt, he would have the heads surfaced for more compression. Didn't have a stupid phone in those days to take pictures of windowed blocks and stuff like that:)

Back in the mid/late 70's, I pulled a 31' Krause disc with an 1155. It was a load but got the job done. I sure liked the V-8 Perkins.

Nice one j.t. out driving your 2 tractors you really love. That back field has definitely been worked over anuf. What happened to the little stomp on the right hand brake pedal to get out the shed in one shot. Now or you need is some l.e.d.s so you can keep going well you got no rain.

Iv had 2 go down but that's on my off road trucks and they have bin though he'll and back and bin under water a lot. My boy has just bin checking them all out again because we are planning on getting back out this first time in 3 years and only 2 out off 14 is playing up.. so I'm happy. And there just really cheap ones.

Jt, I'm not sure but I think the 1155 and the 2745 had the same engine ? But one thing for sure they sure sound the same. We were surprised how rough it sounded at idle but open it up and it smoothed out and sounded awesome! Funny after so many years I can remember the sound of a tractor. If I remember right I think the 2745 we purchased in the early 80s was near 50,000 dollars. I don't have a clue what there worth now but it just doesn't seem right that such a awesome tractor can be bought for scrap price. JT, you being able to work on these tractors without having to hook it up to a computer or have to buy special programs puts you further ahead of alot of today's farmers.

That engines got a lot of rolling hunt on it. I don’t want to Detroit. There’s a screw on the governor that you adjust to smooth that out. I believe it was on the governor or maybe it was a fuel pump, but there is a screw just to eliminate that roll and hunt
