You're content is so good, I wish there were more KZbinrs with professional makeup artist content! ❤ I personally need to work on time, I find that it's not in the application where I'm slow it's if I over pack my kit and then can't find the product I'm looking for. Or I set the product down in a weird spot and then I'm digging to find it.. I need to slow down when putting things back. Also I am unable to find a reliable MUA to work with on larger weddings... I live in a very small town with no big cities very close so I'm a one man band. I wish I could find a reliable MUA to work with sometimes. :(

I totally hear you on that. My station sometimes gets crazy too!! Sorry to hear you are having a hard time with a second MUA - is there anyone you can mentor?

you have one of the best channels by far for those who want to be/ are working makeup artists(not ig or yt artists)! so happy i found u! My problem with time is that I'm a freakin perfectionist. I always go over the the time i give myself because I have to make sure every single lash is perfect lol...i really need to work on that!

Thank you! We all are perfectionists I think, that's what makes us great at our jobs but some stuff you just have to let go even though it is hard to do!!!! 😩

Hi Angie your my Inspiration after I watched all off your videos you really want me to be a freelance makeup artist which is my dream for a long time now but I don't know where to start, but when I watched your videos it makes me so excited and I've been buying stuff now for my kit, I didn't go to school how to do makeup but I've watched tons of videos here in KZbin for about three years now and also practice my own makeup and some of my friends. They been telling to be a makeup artist but I just don't know how to start till I watched your videos, thank you so much for sharing and inspiring me your the best.😊😊

Angie I'm so glad I found your page, I have really been enjoying your videos! Timing is something I still struggle with, I try so hard to get down to 45 minutes but when I do a full face glam such as a bride it takes me usually an hour, sometimes up to an hour 15 minutes. Any tips you have to help shave some time off would be greatly appreciated!
@AngieDiB7 жыл бұрын
Great suggestion. Remember that timing for your bride is totally up to you and it is ok to schedule whatever time you need to get the job done. You will definitely get faster and faster the longer you are a makeup artist but I will be doing a video with tips to help speed up makeup applications within the next couple of weeks!

I'm thinking about a form for clients to fill out when they book me. I definitely want to include skin type, known allergies, etc., as well ask questions about their preferences and dislikes. Anyone else do this? Angie cold you make a video about contracts, and possibly a form like what I'm considering? Thank you!

Great idea! There is a contract video coming I promise!

I absolutely love your videos! If you keep it up I know you will have a large following because there's not many new youtubers right now that speak about this stuff in aesthetically pleasing professional videos! I appreciate all your series they have helped me so much starting more freelance work in the bridal industry!

You have given me very informative information and definitely nobody like you in this big world of KZbin and your honestly is appreciated!!! I would like to see on your videos unless I've missed it I wanted to know about makeup contracts and how do you book your clients do you use some kinda of scheduler to book bridal party and how to keep yourself organized. This is the part I'm kinda feeling lost at is all the "business aspect" Thanks in advance

I know there are never Typical but what is the backdown of a work day i.e.when you aware email, do up scheduling, do you work ( makeup ) 3 days a week and 2 day for offie stuff ?
@AngieDiB6 жыл бұрын
All of my days are different so I can't give a breakdown - most of my shoots are between 8-12 hours (not including travel time) I can work anywhere from 3 to 7 days a week. I check email when I can and schedule when I have the time.

Angie, in several of your videos you mention Black Opal for darker skin tones. I have managed to find a stockist in the UK but wondered if you could suggest which shade ranges would be best for my kit? As I can't get to a store to swatch and see for myself I wondered if you could give me some guidance? Victoria x
@AngieDiB7 жыл бұрын
I carry 6 shades that I depot into a MUJI pill container. Right now I have Truly Topaz, Rich Caramel, Heavenly Honey, Carob, Hazelnut and Black Walnut. I think those shades give a good combination of warm and cool undertones for darker skin. Plus you can contour if you like with the deeper shades.

Thanks Angie! I have said it previously but thank you again for your videos. They are so informative and you are breath of fresh air to KZbin. Yourself, Sam Chapman of Pixiwoo and Wayne Goss are my Make Up Gods! thank you :-) Also, I used to live in Toronto 10 years ago so I am loving hearing your accent daily. Much love to you! x

Your videos are always so informative! When having a large bridal party and bringing another makeup artist to help, is it ok for me to do most of the clients and the other artist just do the few that I cannot do? Or should I split them evenly with her? I don't want to seem rude or greedy or go about it the wrong way
@AngieDiB7 жыл бұрын
Awesome question Kristen. If it is your booking you schedule the clients as you like just be upfront with the timing and amount of bookings for the second artist so they can have all of the information before accepting the job.

Question, should the bride be done first or last?
@AngieDiB7 жыл бұрын
Great question!!! It could go either way - it really depends on your client. I have some that like to get it done, I have some that need to be done for pictures earlier than everyone else. So do whatever your client wants just make sure you don't run out of time for them!!!!

Doing both air and makeup (I am also a licensed hairstylist), do you to hair first or makeup?
@AngieDiB7 жыл бұрын
That totally depends for me!!!! If I have a choice - for bridal I like to do hair first so when the makeup is done they can see how everything works together (usually this minimizes the amount of changes) this works well for personal clients too! For everything else I just see how I feel, sometimes my makeup inspires the hair or the opposite!
@GirlArmy217 жыл бұрын
OK that makes perfect sense. The total look. And, if I do a hot roller set or have to do a pin up style (curling iron)...as the set is cooling, I could move on to makeup....and then the big reveal. Thanks so much for answering so quickly. Lovvveeeee your videos...learning lots! XO

I would recommend looking into what they offer at George Brown. They have very comprehensive courses for makeup and scheduling wise there are more options so you can take your time completing the course and you would be able to work while attending school if you need a source of income.
