Upper chain sprocket to camshafts 15Nm
Chain guides (all 4) 20Nm
Upper Tensioner 70Nm
Lower Tensioner 10Nm
Fuel Pump Sprocket 65Nm
Oil pump sprocket !Reverse thread! 5Nm+90 degrees -new bolt required

Thanks Appreciate it! Yes good old Victor Reinz silicon was used on the timing cover as well, just the video started to be to long, so I’ve edited out that part.

hi there, amazing video and in details, this video may serve me as a guide when will do my b37 BMW. Any idea at what mileage need timing chain replacing? thank you in advance

Hi, thanks for watching! This car had 128,000 miles if I remember correctly, but I’ve changed a rattling BMW chain at 98,000 miles as well. Unfortunately it’s a very broad scale. Cold morning starts are a good indication of the chain condition. I would recommend using OEM Chains, I’m preparing a video on the risks of aftermarket timing kits. Good luck with the job, it’s not that difficult once you’re doing it!

I like the way you took off the front end in one piece. I’m guessing this is an automatic transmission…? What year? I’m just about to put the engine of my 2016 B36 Mini back in. I had no codes just cranked with no start. So I took parts off one at a time to find the problem. The car was totaled due to extensive under carriage damage. Busted out oil pan. I found the cam had jumped about 20 degrees off. One of the timing chains looked to be slightly stretched. I’m learning from your video. Thanks!

Hi, I think it was 2015. I’m glad I could help. If the oil pan was damaged I would advise you to check the bottom end bearings, main a con rod. If you watch my x3 rebuild video, because a fractured oil pan the car ran on low oil pressure and damage was caused big time….

@@W15Garage I did check the bearings. In hindsight I probably should have checked the pistons/rods, but hoping for the best. I will know if all is good in a few days. Thanks again.
