To me it looks like she might be looking for her other cubs, almost all cats can give birth to as little as 1 to as much to 10 if not, but most only birth between 2 to 5. so while it's possible that was her only cub, it's unlikely. again I could be wrong and all of her cubs could be fine.

Sad but true. Wild animals already have a life filled with constant struggle, where everyday is a struggle to just survive another day, find food and not become food. And the reward for many of them is to run that gauntlet only to be killed directly or indirectly by us. My problem isn't with us being on top of the food chain, I don't see Peta demanding lions to eat Vegan, circle of life and all but trophy hunting, cruel farming methods especially the fur farming and consumption of creatures like octopus that have complex intelligence and animal cruelty in general is an injustice that must stop. I'm part Native an remember being taught that every animal especially the ones that sustain us should be treated with respect and never wasted and never made to suffer. Just because a cow or chicken will one day be consumed it doesn't mean in life it should be made to suffer. Quite the opposite in fact, a cow should get to live a happy stress free life and in death it should be an entirely painless experience. We can travel to space, I'm sure we can come up with a way to feed everyone without resorting to cruel mass farming to save a buck.

This also means every human being can be objectified, exploited and destroyed if the situation allows. Having a higher level of intelligence should imply having benefits AND responsibilities towards other creatures. But I see zero empathy and zero respect for life. I hope for a global awakening of consciousness.

No, it didn't. 🙄 They dug a hole in the dirt for the cub before they put the basket and rock over top. It would have had a fair bit of of space. And it wasn't heavy enough to "crush" the cub, anyway.

What you do for these pets is so heartfelt and humanitarian. I'm almost in tears watching this. Reminds me of my Dog Rocky(Blessed memory) Who passes away over my lack to care because of work. Probably using some form of night vision camera that doesn't record audio. It looks like a rescue op that is using the camera footage to confirm that the mother found the baby. Footage was sent sent to the Dodo for the story. Rescue wouldn't really have a need to record real time audio in that situation and it would be weird for the Dodo to dub it over with some sort of AI generated leopard.

I have seen this first hand when a domestic mother cat has to search out her lost kittens…their senses are tuned into every sound and movement anywhere their kitten may be! Their instinct is to always save and protect her young. As should ours to protect all living beings…the way she carries him off is scary! I guess their little necks and spines are flexible enough to handle it… I sure hope the both survived unscathed from this experience!
