Good on you on for not making owning it. The women look for qualities in their partners (not the ones who for shallow things) must find you really attractive. Evolutionary women find outgoing, passionate, interesting(hobbies work too), funny and orderly men very attractive. If these are the qualities a women look for in their mate rather than relying on superfical needs(money, size, height, bad boy nature) then she's the one who deserves you. This is for every man outthere not matter the size just focus on improving your self and be the best person you can be, find happiness in yourself and the right women will come naturally to you. For guys shorter than 5'4 It will be harder to attract women much taller than you but the best of em will fall for you eventually If you come of as respected and know how to make the height difference not awkward. Finally women with preferences such as "just taller than me or not too much shorter than me" works too(especially If they are short themselves) ofcourse the best kind is that don't care about height at all but that does not make these other types more shallow or unworthy. Shorter guys will have a hard time with these ones but as I said the best ones will eventually..... Just keep this in mind above average guys, If she fits these types of women then you are in good hands of a wonderful loving women.

This applies to being fat too. I've always been a little overweight and when the conversation goes there I say I'm preparing myself to survive in case I get lost in the mountains, or that I'm fat on purpose so I can be warmer than everyone else during winter. People find it funny because it's absurd, and it shows I'm aware but comfortable with my body to the point I joke about it being "useful" rather than a negative trait. After I joke about it I usually bring up to the table how I lost 25kg, how it changes your perspective, how I've found out there's more of me inside than my appearance, and how it makes you feel weird that people treat you different when you lose weight. So... self-awareness, humour, and sharing a point of view some people may have never experienced.

Its just sad that even the guys who live by these tips gets accused of "overcompensating". The society really need to change their outlook on short guys so we can get over with this heightism. Luckily where I am from Its much less of a problem and Its common to see short guys in leadership roles and dating tall girls. At least that's the case with my province where the average man is 5'5. These tips are good for anyone to get respected and I recommend you use it no matter your size but Its just said to see that in the west we have to a point where we have to make these videos to and hope that short guys practice them effectively to even get the respect they deserve. Guys the height disparity with men in leadership roles is real, womens unfair high standards on tall men is also another thing. We really need to make a difference, someday.

I think if you truly become/act as charismatic (especially if you're trusting yourself) it won't matter that much that you weren't before. I mean yes people may not take you seriously or make jokes at first, but if you trust yourself and are confident you'll find a way to react in a proper way (maybe laughing with them if they weren't mean, calling them out without being too agressive, or literally explaining you're trying to improve socially..) and with time they may even forget. Ps : I'm not sure of anything I wrote but it seemed logical in my head

Also, it helps a lot to make sure that your appearance stands out - dress one level higher than the occasion calls for, be presentable regarding grooming, be in at least reasonable shape. @@ravenclaw8227 Well, i think it's kinda expected to happen in other places, especially if you're from a place like Latvia or Netherlands where everyone is super tall. In a place like that it's probable that you would call attention for being short and would be rejected more often. But i have the suspicion that in the US it's more extreme because of their sports, Basketball and US Football are massive cultural influences and give them the idea that bigger it's equal stronger/better, regardless of context, and therefore short is bad. This also shapes notions of masculinity between man and women. But of course, my perspective it's limited to the cultures i have more experience with. I can't say for everyone's condition but i would say that women are more likely to go with shorter guys than people think, a quick search online will prove that, and not everyone it's the same. If there's someone like me who's irrationally passionate about tall girls, there's a chance you will find a weirdo that's also the same way with shorter guys. People have all sorts of fetishes (but i wouldn't call mine interest a fetish tho).

Actually, to be honest, it was more like "Do I deserve to stretch out more? This isn't my train/room/couch." I read "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and started to take up more space and it felt good. I would even take up less space when in my car by myself because it was such an ingrained habit. I highly recommend the book especially if you find yourself seeking validation from the gender you find attractive.

The other person may put their left hand on your wrist or lower arm. You should then put your hand on their upper arm or shoulder. This gives the sense of you being in control, confident etc. If you want to create a feeling of likeness with the other person, rapport, then simply match them. They will subconsciously feel that you are like them and so more likely to get along with you. Something else that i'm sure many knows is how you shake hands. If you have a firm grip, although not to the point of stopping blood flowing, you will again come across as confident. If however, you give what is known as the dead fish handshake, Weak and limp, it will give the impression you lack confidence, that you are in a sense, giving in to the other person. It's a little like a dog laying down in submission to another dog. Watch a dog at play with another and you will see this happen from time to time.

Forgive me if you already have a video on this topic or a similar idea, but I would _love_ to see something covering the topic of demonstrating confidence and/or controlling the frame in a virtual meeting environment like Zoom, TEAMs, etc. Although our world is slowly returning to a "new normal" with COVID, I think many companies and organizations have realized the benefits of video based "face to face" interactions. Especially when it comes to limited interactions like a job interview, and short-form meetings and appointments that don't rely on any kind of physical evaluation, I think a LOT of people could benefit from some guidelines on demonstrating confidence and control in social interactions where body language and verbal cues can be significantly limited.

I am a 6 feet tall (182 cm) woman. And I am not thinking about it more than that I am very happy I can reach all the stuff in my kitchen without using a chair. Super practical. But once I met a girl that was my height and uncomfortable with it. She actually approched me because of my height and expressed how happy she was that there were another tall girl in the room, and we could stand next to eachother. I kinda just thought that that was super weird. I hadn’t noticed that others were shorter than me before she said it, and I had nothing in common with this girl who somehow though that because of our heights we had something in common, and that I would be happy to have her standing next to me. That was a weird moment. I don’t choose my friends because of height. In fact I have in many occations hung out with a group of friends who were all very shorter than me - like just reaching me above the elbow. Maybe it looks kinda stange for others to look at us. But I don’t notice what others are seing. And if they thought that our heights were stange, that would be their issue. Why have a problem with your own height? You don’t know what others are seing and judging. Why imagine that they notice your height. I rarely notice that people are short. I am a face person. I look at peoples faces. And how they speak and move their body. I would give credit to my mom who succeded very well in not letting me inherit too many complexes about my looks. I just learned my neighbour have complex about her feet being «to long». And she has my shoe size. I never looked at her feet before. She told me her mom and her sister had the same complex. And that when shopping shoes they were thinking about what shoes could make their feet look smaller. So my friend had worn black shoes always in high school. I feel lucky I have never heard about this complex before. I am thinking what a waste it is to spend time being sad about how the feet looks. I feel the same about height - what a waste of time and feeling it is to think about this. Rather it could be good to think about what flowers grow in your surroundings. Learning their name. Flowers give happy feelings. However being so tall, and of course then heavy too, has made me insecure about sitting on other peoples lap, or jump onto others to give them a hug. But I think that is a good thing, because my weight could do real damage to others if I jump on them. Like they could get back problems. So the possibility to do these things I really envy short people. And also my legs don’t really fit it my car - so if I did crash I would be seriously injured. So if you are short. Learn from my mother. Think about the practical benefits. As a tall person I can watch a concert standing behind a crowd of people, but as short people you can: - Be lifted by others - Survive easier (need for less food) during a zombieapocalypze - Live longer (this is true, tall people die sooner). - Be closer to the ground if you fall. So you’d be less injured. - Get more clothes with you when travelling. (Suitcase would be lighter). Also your clothes probably dry faster. - Can climb easier. Do acrobatics easier. - Fit in cars. - Fit in your bed. (The bed I got in the hospital once was to small for me, because it has this foot-end I would bump into.). Also when I have slept over at friends I would have to sleep on too short sofas. Really uncomfortable and this problem has happened often. - Bigger chance you can inherit clothes or buy used clothes because it is more normal to be shorter. - The smallest clothing sizes are often on sale, I’ve heard. So as we can see there are pros and cons to everything. It is just different qualities - not good vs. bad. When it comes to dating. I have not have a heigh- preferanse myself. But I suspect that shorter guys are reluctant to date taller girls too. Because there have been less interest from shorter guys I have noticed. But it could also be because some tall girls sadly reject shorter guys - so short guys might think I would be like that too. What missed opportunities this can cause. I urge people to be open minded and not pre-decide what your future partners hight or apperance «should be». But I do also believe that because I am a tall woman I do get more automatic respect and attention when I enter a room. So that I think is very sad for the shorter, or normal height, girls. I have seen that they get easily ignored. And taken less serious. For short guys I don’t know how it is. I think that this video from Charisma in Command is important - to combat that issue. There is probably a need to do more effort to «own the room» being short. That is unfair. On the other side. Who am I to decide that «owning the room» is better than not. It could be «blending in» is exactly what you want. In that case it is a benefit being shorter. All is preferanse I guess. And luckily there is much that we can do to overcome out obstacles. Like getting a chair when you need something on top of a shelf. We have chairs! And once I met a short guy from US Navy Seals. He was so strong I could jump on him and he lifted me like in that scene from the movie Dirty Dancing. I guess that there are no limits after all. Much love!

I clicked on this because I was intrigued. I'm 5'6" so not tiny, but short by most male standards. I actually sometimes do one or two of the things on this video, though I had never noticed. But actually, the most significant thing for me is that I really don't care. I come from a short family so being short is a part of my identity, it's a connection to my heritage. Additionally, I don't think people really give all that much thought to my height, so I don't really worry about commanding respect. It has come up in conversation, but broadly most people have never given a damn. I've never seen myself as in competition with the tall people. Aside from the mild inconvenience of having to ask people to reach things for me from time to time, it doesn't impact my life at all.

Tom Holland calling himself quite short when he's 5'8 and average height is 5'9. The image of height is so off. Zendaya, and I don't mean this in a negative way because she's a gorgeous young woman, is above average for a woman. And they get along well. So it's a good example of how it doesn't even have to be an issue.

As a very short guy, the best way to get respect is to stop caring about other people’s respect. Some people just won’t. And that’s their problem. Most people respect me because I’m a standup guy. I’m confident, I’m funny, I’m loyal and I’m honest. You know where you stand with me. But some people just won’t purely on the basis that I’m short. But it’s all good. The worst thing you can do as a short guy is show the world that you care what everyone else thinks. They will eat you alive.
