People need to stop saying that. You guys just repeat the same rhetoric. If you feel sorry for the kid, you should also feel sorry for his father. His father, im sure, was someone he loved. So when people were cracking jokes about the situation at first it was fine. Now it's "I feel sorry for the kid." It makes you seem like a moron. It took revealing that a 19 year old was on board in order for you to feel sorry for someone?

@@rickybobby6845 Dude chill, I never said I didn't feel for the families of the other crew members. But, let's be honest, most of the others saw what they were getting into and how shoddy the sub was before getting into it. There's actually a guy who initially bought a ticket but bailed last minute because he looked into it more and decided it wasn't worth it. I agree that it's a bit much to outright joke about the victims.

It’s actually super annoying. Same w Matt rife and other Gen z comedians. They need to perfect their comedy before they insert preachiness and serious social commentary into their routines. 1. You’re not funny enough yet 2. Your perspective isn’t remotely unique or interesting enough to warrant that. Unfortunately, almost all of Gen Z and most millennials think they’re the main character.

@kyleconnor2759
@kyleconnor2759 Жыл бұрын
None of this was deep. Remotely. Most people already understand the points he stopped the comedy part of his show to make. Huge main character syndrome issue with young performers now. Is this the new thing now? Bring your set to a complete halt so that you can stand there and tell us how to be more human? 😂 Shows a total lack of perspective. Your take on these things is not unique. It’s not poignant. It’s normal. So it shouldn’t be included in this way, which totally interrupts the flow you’ve created. Figure out how to make these points THROUGH your jokes or don’t include at all. I’m sure this will be considered ‘hating’ but it’s not. Josh could be great, but he’s already falling prey to the same narcissistic tendencies a lot of young performers are these days. Become a true master stand up comedian before you start thinking your serious asides have any place in your set. But by then anyway you’ll realize they don’t.

I love Josh's ability to make something tragic hilarious but also shed light on the need for human empathy. It's true that we can have empathy for these rich families but also demand more be done to save drowning refugees. Lives are lives, and isn't that what we say when we say love is love? Granted that might be skewed if terrible crimes against humanity were done, so we need to look at these two events as lives lost. We need to demand and protest for better and quicker action to be taken in times of disaster. Just ask the orcas.

This shit is lame. Do you want to be a comedian or lecture people on humanity? Josh needs to decide, Bc the mix ain’t working. He can make these points through jokes, but many young comedians think their perspective is so powerful and unique (main character syndrome) that they have to stop everything and tell us. It’s brutal. Josh is obviously funny and smart, but he hopefully will reevaluate doing this.

Nah, it was because it was a wildly unusual situation, linked to another famous tradegy, still lodged in the cultural zeitgeist. Tragically refugee boats sinking are a common occurance. It was ongoing situation, so there was a ticking clock element to keep people intrigued and checking back to the 24 hr news channels. The refugee boat sank quickly and those unfortunate souls were dead or rescued pretty quickly. And because of the circumstances and victims involved it raises a broad range of emotional responses from the population at large to discuss and drive engagement. Refugees drowning is very cut and dried tragic end of. No one has any time for dissenting opinions.
@glupik1234
@glupik1234 11 ай бұрын
@@franciscopozolemass shootings in the us are also a common occurence yet we speak about them all the time. The ticking clock was specifically put in place to keep people engaged bc if you had an ounce of common sense you'd know they imploded instantly. It was a show made of nothing. Also absolutely no, the sinking wasn't some immediate process, it is materially impossible. Hundreds of people were basically left missing and were still recovering their identities. It's funny that you say no one has time for dissident opinions, bc it's the dissident opinions - expressed by protestors - that actually care for refugee lives. The accepted "normal" opinion is actually "who cares, let them drown". Like, researchers like those of forensic architecture make such compelling, methodically innovative investigations about these situations, yet ppl prefer counting hypothetical hours of oxygen left for an already destroyed submarine.

his set up for these were so great i kept being like is he going somewhere with this like is there a point or punchline to whst he's saying...and then he'd smile real quick and give us that stare with the slight smile in his eyes and i'm like oh okay he knows something funny is coming, he is going somewhere with this...i really like this style feels like stream of conciousness that he recorded wrote down and then remembered to perform.

He got real deep there for a minute! I liked how he explained why we “cared” so much, as a society. I didn’t even hear about the refugees until now 🥺💔 how sad!!

Subscribed. That was deep. (Pun not intended.) That we can be more focused on people whose lifestyles we aspire to, and therefore inordinately captivated by an arguably lesser tragedy is definitely an insight.

You have to be the only comic who will ever make a legend of dragoon reference. Thats my favorite video game of all time. Got a little excited when i heared it not going to lie.

Comedians willing to laugh at their own jokes in my opinion makes the show so much more enjoyable. Love to see him having fun. And FUCK A WHEEL took me the fuck out.

That’s some Dave Chappelle level of coverage. Take a touchy subject, give it room to breath, and work in a joke to lighten the mood at the last minute
@MoonShadowWolfe

As opposed to the modern Chappelle method, hammer on the easy, cruel, crowd pleaser jokes, taking advantage of the ignorance of your audience, then rake in your unearned money and coast on having appeared to be kind over 15 years ago.

I'm glad I stumbled upon Josh. There are very few contemporary comedians that are as thoughtful. Louis CK and Dave Chappelle are the only ones that I can think of at the moment. ❤
