I got up to 402 pounds and I was eating like this. It’s a really hard habit to break. I was so depressed from my obesity and the only time I felt better was when I was eating. Then I’d feel worse after a giant feed and the cycle would continue. In the last 27 months I’ve lost half my weight going from 402 to 201 pounds with diet and exercise. When I started I couldn’t walk 3 minutes without having to take a break but now I can walk for hours and ride a bike for hours and I lift weights and I eat a lot of good healthy food and some fun food. Edit: wow 1k likes. Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Thanks so much for sharing because I don’t think that people understand when you are that overweight, every part of you hurts and the only source of relief and enjoyment is the pleasure of eating. It doesn’t take a lot of work or movement to do it either. It’s like the bigger you get, the greater the pleasure of eating is because there are no other things you can physically do without pain that make you feel good.

I feel sorry for her and she is in a heartbreaking situation. A sad and lonely place. I definitely will not blame her parents. They have given her a safe haven during a very difficult, emotional time.. We do not know what support they have given her in the past to try and help her or how it has affected their own lives and the lives of the ones that love her. I most certainly will not judge them. We are all responsible for our own actions and I sincerely hope she gets the support and help she needs. Any kind of addiction is very hard, family is their to support and help, but things can only change when the person with the addiction wants to change, If they are struggling with that and cannot, family will still love them. I wish her the best.

I was overweight / obese during the pandemic. Then one day my wife took a photo of me sitting in my favorite chair. I took one look and said Enough!! Got on Weight watchers, bought a Peloton treadmill and got after it. One year and a half later, I'm in the best shape of my life. Doing weights and calisthenics also, starting to get an abs six pack and building lean muscle. I know a lot of these people have major underlying issues, I get it. But you just have to commit and stay the course. I kept that photo, and when my will lags, I take a good look at it. No better motivator. Still, my heart breaks for these folks.

@catastrophe4525
@catastrophe4525 2 жыл бұрын
She says that they struggled with money problems due to her illness and having to pay medical bills. Perhaps her parents feel guilty for not being able to afford stuff when she was younger or similar, so they try to make up for it by letting her have everything now. Or maybe they think she is an adult and should decide what she's on her own and don't understand how damaging it can be. Maybe she gets angry and is hard to live with when she doesn't get what she wants. Many reasons that don't necessarily come from a place of neglect
@silvergirl7810
@silvergirl7810 2 жыл бұрын
Because when you take away basic choices from people you take away their dignity- of which she has little left- so they let her have that. She has a right to choose what she eats rather it’s right or wrong as an adult. I’m not saying they should enable her but they love her and are letting her have her decisions, the only ones that make her happy- it also gets her out of the house.

@@love-ip7sz she clearly has an addiction - and food addiction is every bit as difficult or more to deal with than meth or heroine being that you can never be away from it. Food something our body actually needs which makes it a unique problem. As I said before, do I think they should enable her? No. The situation is a difficult one and one that happens over years and years where these people are just ‘overweight’ due to whatever situations and their family accepts them and it’s not until the very end points where it just gets completely out of control and they find themselves in these extreme situations with families at a loss of what to do.

Food addiction is a real addiction and I feel so much sympathy for these individuals. It is great that they are taking the first step to acknowledge the problem. I am a recovering alcoholic, have been sober for 14 years. I can imagine that to manage your food addiction must be a different kind of difficult. Yes, booze is everywhere and normalized but you need food to survive. The temptation will never be gone.

The parents are the problem really. She was in their care as a child when this started happening and they never addressed it, and she's in their care again and they're still ignoring the problem and enabling her to boot. Even more egregious is that she has a lot of health issues and really needs them to step up for her and freaking parent, and all they seem to do is treat her with indignity, dragging her around in the back of the van like a pet so she can go to the store instead of putting their foot down and doing what they need to do to really help her.

Honestly I can say that I totally relate to someone addicted to food so hardcore that it's all you can think about! From my early years of high school from late years of middle school, I weighed about 450+ lbs... And when I felt bad, got bullied or hurt, was sick, wanted to 'celebrate' something, etc, I ate! My gosh did I eat! And a doctor told me: "lose this weight or lose this life!!" That sentence scarred me and scared me.. I tried everything from starving to prescription amphetamine, street drugs, drinking massive amounts of water to 'fill' my belly, but no matter what I done I was still so desperately hungry.. I felt shame, guilty, sad, etc. Like he said in Austin Powers: "I'm depressed because I eat, I eat because I'm depressed!" I still kept trying tho. And unfortunately I was no candidate for WLS because I had to lose about 50-100lbs for surgery. So in not seeing any other options, I attempted suicide, which failed horribly, only making the criticism worse, bullying worse. Then I spiraled downward even that much more.. but somehow I disciplined myself enough to say: "ok, I truly need help!!" I prayed a lot, asked my family and friends for help and joined a group called Overeaters Anonymous. And within about a year and 1/2, I lost weight!! Coming in at a whopping 250lbs.. I didn't give up there, I kept going, sharing my story, remembered what that doc told me and now I have a steady regimen that helped me.. so, as I type, I now weigh 187. I'm proud of myself in that I'm alive simply because I listened to good advice!! (I'm not bragging however). Just saying that no matter how hard it can be, whatever the addiction is, it can be broke, conquered and beaten.. I hope & pray that others can be helped and able to beat their vice.. 🙂❤️🙏👍

i was never that big (my peak was 6'4" 355, and i was 19) but i was in a similar boat. its how i celebrated, its how i cured the pain, its how i cured boredom. i dont think i was quite THAT addicted, but it felt terrible. so far ive lost 32 pounds in a month and a half, from 347 to 315. i also have a physically demanding job so that helps too. so far ive felt fine on usually 1500-2000 calories a day, and im definitely heavier on fruits/veggies compared to what i was doing before. how bad is your loose skin from that size? how do ya maintain... right now im on break from college, but when i go back i feel im gonna go back to these bad habits. the only good thing is ill have a lot less money to blow because im moving away from my parents

"Pray" for people with "food addiction"? Are you mentally challenged or something? How is this going to help? Even from an religious point of view, this would be gluttony. Do you know how it feels to break with a real addiction?..heroin or alcohol for example? Withdrawal literally can kill you. It's unspeakable physical and mental pain, followed by crippling depression for months. You feel like you're in hell before you eventually start to feel better. Braking "food addiction" is nothing. You feel better and healthier from day one! It's her fucking choice! She just likes food better than she likes being healthy. It's fcking gluttony! She doesn't have the strength of character to start eating healthier. It is so easy to lose weight, when you're that big! She is a liability to herself and her family (in many ways) because she doesn't want to stop, stuffing her fat face with cake and pizza. It is disgusting.

the comments saying shes pathetic are really upsetting. binge eating is a mental illness and an addiction and its not something you can just turn off. its like telling an alcoholic to just stop drinking. i briefly struggled with a weed addiction in high school (stopped due to a horrible experience with it) and yet even still sometimes i find myself craving it when im upset. its a very hard cycle to break out of. these people need help and support, not anger

Man, every time I watch one of these shows, it blows my mind that people can get this big and are okay with it!? Also, 1 person eating 2 pizzas, 24 wings, breadsticks and a whole family size chocolate brownie to themselves is just insane!! It shows that they’re doing nothing to help themselves. Seeing what she’s going through and then reading the comments literally breaks my heart. I’ve dealt with binge eating disorder since I was 13 and bulimia since I was 16. Even if you’ve had a different addiction before, food addiction is different. I would never claim to completely understand what a drug addict or an alcoholic is going through, and unless you’re actively struggling with an eating disorder I don’t think you could understand what we’re going through either. Binging takes everything away from you, but you still can’t stop, it’s horrible. And I know people want to judge the parents, but I can’t even imagine how hard it’s been for my mom watching me struggle. As a parent if the only way your child is happy is with food, sometimes you become an enabler unintentionally. It’s really awful for everybody involved

Exactly the journey of a thousand Miles starts with a single step..... In my life I went from 350 lb at age 20, to 190 lbs consistently,and I'm in my late 30s now... Anyone can make an amazing change to themselves if they're just willing to do the work.,... And I get that's the hard part that's the disconnect doing the work is hard and people don't want to do it.... But the reality is nothing is ever gained by the lazy man, it takes effort to get things in life.... I wish the best for this lady in the video... And I believe in her I know for a fact if she wanted to she could change her entire life and body.. she just has to be ready and tired of making excuses for herself to be less than....

@@chadjones3214 Nice work losing all that weight and keeping it off! Honestly, I think a big part of the problem is how difficult losing weight is made out to be. Small changes in habits add up. No one needs to cut their calories in half or go from a couch potato to 2 hours of cardio in a day. The hardest part is recognising that you need to do better for your health and taking that first step, and when (or if) that wake-up call comes is different for everyone. I was lucky that it was only 22 pounds above the obese line for me, but I have health problems I may have never faced if I had taken better care of myself in the first place. Still a good 20 pounds to go to for a healthy BMI, but I'm not in any hurry. Small, sustainable changes will get me there, in the meantime I'm enjoying feeling better and stronger every day.
