I can confirm that Stallone does care about looks. My dad met him at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills back in the early 80's,where they were both shopping for clothes. My dad got a gift certificate worth only $50 dollars so all he could afford was just a single dress shirt. They both ended up in the checkout lanes together. Sly commented to my dad, " Why are you buying only one shirt?" My dad, being a simple working man, a machinist for McDonnell Douglas, it was all he could afford. Mr. Stallone's assistant was called, and he helped my dad get two more shirts and also got measured for two suits, trousers, and a cashmere dinner jacket. He paid for it all and was very kind to my dad. My dad is 84 years old, and he still has those clothes . He always goes to see every single Sylvester Stallone movie whenever he can. Great video, BTW.

That's a wonderful story about your dad meeting Stallone at the store. Long before I was born, My dad was a professional contractor in the 80s and he actually worked on the construction crew that built Stallones house. The reason he knows it was his house is because he showed up at the house during construction and my dad was able to meet him by him saying hello to the crew he was on.

Black tie event the lot high class dinner and booze. Then he came in stage I wasn’t far from him but I was star struck. I didnt know what to say or whether to wave and try to get his attention but at the end of it all, I felt I knew him personally for years, the way he talks to people, the way he is in general. I only saw him in the movies, but to see him in person is definitely a tick off my bucket list 😃. Never saw Sly but never know hopefully one day I will and that would be another tick ✔️. All I can say is the older gen of action stars, cared about the entertainment they gave us. The newer batch could care less, and it shows. Conan is still a yearly watch for me, nothing else can really get you into a state of mind where nothing can hurt you. Stallone had some greats; I really like his early career. But even he has never graced us with anything as visceral as Conan. The second Conan isn't worth mentioning and I really wish we could have received the Conan sequel that Arnold and we deserve.

I love this interview. Shows a side of Sly and Arnold that's never been shed light on. Both of them had traumatic childhoods but it shows how differently different personalities react to abuse. Sly being more emotional and sensitive experienced his past abuse as baggage that weighed down on him, which is the way I experience mine day to day. Arnold being more of a rightbrained critical thinker saw his as fuel to carve his path in the world.

Creed 1and 2 Rocky 1-4, Rambo 1-5, Balboa, Cobra, all of the Expendables etc. in rotation for Sly. They are still two of favorite action stars.
