Why does having Latios imply he has Latias, but Entei means he doesn’t have his counterparts! That seems like a double standard. Especially for Darkrai and Cresselia! If he can’t have Ho-oh, he can’t have Lugia! My take would keep the same 1st 3 as yours, Heatran, Zapdos(I agree with your reasoning for those 2) & Deoxys (because I consider Regigigas as the land version of Ho-oh & Lugia & agreed with the rest of your comments throughout the video & found it the most probable.)

By Speculations, Half of his team is Legendary. 1) Darkrai {Ace} 2) Latios 3) Entei - Opening Song of Sinnoh League Victors where Ash's Pokemon were battling Darkrai & Entei. Only Tobias had Darkrai in Sinnoh League so most probably He also has Entei. 4) Lucario - This can be as well. Cuz in Japanese Opening of 4th Season of DP series. Pikachu was actually battling an unknown Lucario + Tobias is capable of training a Lucario. 5) Latias or Cresselia - Can't Say but Cresselia won't be cuz she is featured in Recent episodes 6) Any Sinnoh Starter.

It's primary ability is being able to make a few thousand clones of itself for an alien invasion. Brendon then catches a completely different deoxys right after Ryquaza smashes the meteor apart. And then Max makes friends with yet another baby deoxys over in kanto! Within a single generation we saw four of the damn things crash into the planet, and any one of them might come across tobias.

I agree, specially because if he has one it doesn't mess with any previous event that happened in the anime as Deoxys is not an important part of the Hoenn story. If there was multiple Deoxys or Tobias just having the only Deoxys in existence won't contradict anything so it's fair game.

But then again, maybe he didn’t even challenge the Elite 4 and Cynthia so that he could continue his travels and not be tied down in Sinnoh as the regions champion? dont underestimate cynthia, she is hyped up in the games and the show as basically the second most powerful trainer on the planet, now the third after he defeat at ashe's hands, who's become a master, with leon as number 2 and cynthia number 3. even then, as the third strongest trainer, if ANYONE can solo a team of legendary pokemon, its the likes of cynthia. especially if others on tobias's team were weak to dragon types, like garchomp.

And he had to beat the elite four first, which were shown in the show to already be leagues above Ash. So by battling them he may have revealed more of his team making prep even more possible.

I loved seeing a character like Tobias, someone who is skilled enough to capture legendaries and smart enough to use them in the league. Seriously, he feels like a player character who, just like most of us, decided to get the best team he could and then use it to win. I think for the anime they wanted a cool "boss" fight for Ash, but Tobias is honestly just a very interesting character - how DID he catch those pokemon? Where did he come from? What are his goals now that he's won? I'd love to see him return, even though it is unlikely. I wanna see the rest of his team haha

The entei one is something that always caught my attention as it very much could have been a part of Tobias' team imo. As right after Infernape clashes with it we see Buizel clash with Darkrai which we know belongs to Ash as no one else at that point uses Buizel. It is interesting how so many legendaries showed up at that point of the series. Idk if Journeys will show him but it would be nice to see him again even though we know what he did...afterall Ash did reference Tobias during the Cresselia/Darkrai 2 parter with Dawn!

Awesome video!! I definitely agree on some of your options, especially Entei & Latias! I never used to be too big on the Lugia suggestion because I felt like it would overshadow Darkrai, but I liked your reasoning behind it. I personally think his full team is Darkrai, Latios, Latias, Entei, Lucario and then maybe Heatran or Zapdos. I know Lucario isn't a Legendary Pokemon, but it's pretty legendary nonetheless haha. Yea I'm leaning more towards this because Lucario is a pseudo legendary still having the legendary title. It's possible that it's heatran because the trainer with the heatran was never shown again so assuming that the anime writers was trying to show a pokemon that Tobias has but with another trainer to throw us off. I'm not sure about regigigas because of Brandon. Trainers have lots of the legendary birds.

Which is exactly why he'll never return. There is no good storyline you can craft with a character like that. Anything that a normal trainer struggles with, or even Ash, Tobias easily crushes, and anything that Tobias actually struggles with absolutely CRUSHES normal trainers. The only people that can really challenge Tobias are likely elite 4 members or region champions.

But his starter could very well have been a legendary or mythical. Pokemon like Darkrai, Latias, Latios, Phione, Shaymin or Celebi come to mind as they're one of the few legendaries and mythicals confirmed to be in multiples in the anime. I don't personally think he has a full team of legendaries, but doesn't mean he couldn't. Also it's possible to ditch a starter when doing a competitive team.

Interesting idea, but I would keep the legendary titans on the list. We already know multiple of legendary Pokémon can exist (moltres being seen in Kanto, Orange Islands, Sevii Islands, and Kalos, for example) and I can definitely see Tobias having a regirock or regice.

This does not confirm that they are different Moltes though, technically it could be the same one every time. I do agree that it has been showed that there could be more than one of these legendary species but we do not know which one there are multiple unless it has been explicitly confirmed and to be honest if there's only one or multiple of these mons is only decided based on the plot that the anime needs.

Getting mewtwo would be the only one that doesn't make sense. All of the others are a species with a population, and multiple individuals some with drastly different personalities. Mewtwo on the other hand, there are only two of them in existence, and whether it's the boy mewtwo or the girl one, the only way you're keeping them in the ball is diplomacy. Red manages to "sorta" catch the first mewtwo, and in the manga they go on adventures together using a giant spoon as a club. The second mewtwo is more stable, less insane, but also not very combative.

Cameron had 6 Pokémon. His next battle showed it to be Watchog. It was clearly seen with the rest of his knocked out Pokémon when he lost.

Raf meant that Tobias wouldn't have only relied on only bringing 2 Pokemon or less than 6 so he definitely had 6 Pokemon. The point is Cameron didn't realize a full battle was 6 Pokemon and ONLY brought 5 Pokemon so therefore had Ash defeated 5 Pokemon, Cameron would've lost, likewise Tobias would have had a FULL team so its not like if Ash did outright defeat Latios, Tobias would've shrugged his shoulders and said "I have no more Pokemon"

@@michaeldaniels642 No what happened is Cameron only had 5 Pokemon with him when he battled Ash because he thought a full battle was only 5 Pokemon, upon learning it was 6 Pokemon he used 6 Pokemon against Virgil. So had Ash defeated Lucario he would've won the battle. There's a reason why the battle with Cameron is the most hated league battle, even more than Tobias. Know that these episodes especially back to back episodes are made far in advance. So it makes no sense that they wouldn't have decided on Cameron's 6th Pokemon when fully animating the episode, and just randomly gave him a Watchog against Virgil. Episodes are made months in advance.

"A team chalk full of legendary pokemon" does not mean it's made entirely of legendaries, just a lot compared to other trainers, especially seeing as that quote is translated and overexaggerated for that occasion. Considering the draco meteor comment, I think it's safe to assume that Tobias had Latias, and then the rest of his team was entirely dragon types (Garchomp, Dragonite, etc).

We saw Tobias using just 2 Pokemon, and both mythical. So let's assume mythical Pokemon is his theme. If he returns , i think this will be his best all mythical team, with minimal type overlap and proper battle worthy Pokemon .. Darkrai, Latios, Volcanion, Zeraora, Marshadow, Magearna.

I actually think it's pretty likely that Tobias could have had a Deoxys on his team, in my opinion. Deoxys has appeared multiple times, whether it be in the movies or in the show. One of its show appearances was actually in the Sinnoh region. Plus, it fits in with Tobias' battle style of using fast Pokémon. I wouldn't put it past him if he had one.

An encounter with Tobias would be the perfect time to introduce gigantamax melmetal into the series, so if he and ash clashed, I think ash would be best off using definitely Melmetal and if he’s able to contact the Aether Foundation, he could try reconnect with Naganadel. Or he might be able to reconnect with Nebby, and add Nebby to his team, a good time to show off solgaleo’s z move again!

Well if what Tobias said is true that Ash's Gible (Dragon/Ground) with Draco Meteor (Dragon type move = STAB) could defeat any Pokémon (including the one's in his team) except Darkrai and his team are All legendarys and his Latios is Dragon/Psychic. Then The only other members he could have would be Latias Rayquaza Dialga Palkia and Girantina (and in the most extreme Arceus with a Dragon plate) according that Dragon and Ice are the only two weaknesses to the Dragon type till Gen 6

Here's an interesting fact. The screenplay of the episode "League Unleashed", which was the episode where we first see Tobias and his Darkrai, was written by Shinzō Fujita who wrote the screenplay for the episodes where Ash lost to Cameron who forgot to bring 6 Pokémon and the episode where Ash lost the Kalos League Finals.

They had to bring a trainer with legendaries to make Ash lose this league, there is no other purpose... that's how strong was Ash in this season, not even the dude in the final could beat the Darkrai of Tobias meanwhile Ash has beaten not only his Darkrai but also his Latios. Is also the first and only league where Ash finally used his old strong mons (Except Torkoal) to have a better chance winning it. Tobias will never make an apperance again, nobody remembers him in the anime... like it never existed, not even a flashback, it was a badly written character just with the purpose to make Ash lose, nothing else, he was never mentioned again after the league... in the moment I saw Tobias with his Darkrai I already knew that Ash was gonna lose against him.

Big disagree on latias, for the same reasons you excluded the other legendary beasts and birds. Big disagree on regigigas and lugia too, simply because I think they are _way_ too strong and important to go on his team. Outside of that, I disagree with the lineup because of its horrible type coverage, 3 pokemon weak to rock, 3 weak to dark, 4 weak to ice... I get that type coverage matters way less in the anime, but I still don't think it makes much sense given his skill/power. Otherwise I agree for the most part, and it was a solid analysis. I personally have a different opinion for Tobias's team ok so here is my thought his full team probably represents the different groupings of legendary/mythical pokemon solos, duo, & trios and going along with this thought we know for certain that Darkrai is from the Lunar Duo and Latios is from the Eon Duo so they represent the Legendary Duos, now to represent the Legendary Trios now to start with we know that both the Lake and Creation Trios won't be used so I chose from the other three instead and decided to go with the Fire, Ice, & Lightning aesthetic and since Entei was in the intro I chose him for Fire, and since the Legendary Titans didn't have an electric type yet so Regice is chosen for Ice, which leaves Zapdos from the Legendary Birds to represent Lightning. Ok so far we've represented both the Duos with Darkrai & Latios and the Trios with Entei, Regice, & Zapdos which only leaves the Solo Legendary left for which I chose Heatran and not because we saw a trainer with 1 in the anime but rather so there could be 2 from the Original Series (Entei & Zapdos), 2 from the Ruby & Sapphire Series (Latios & Regice), and 2 from the Diamond & Pearl Series (Darkrai & Heatran) so yeah Darkrai, Latios, Entei, Regice, Zapdos, and Heatran is what I think should have been Tobias's full team

There's no saying that they won't bump up the Pokemon when Ash gets to the final hyper class. And also remember we've only seen masters class having only 1 vs 1. The point is, the writers entirely decide the match ups, so Tobias could reveal 6 Pokemon and just like Bea as well just choose three if it is a 3 vs 3. Remember Leon did say "I wish there was more to see" when talking about Ash vs Bea, so maybe they'll increase the number.
