I can’t speak for Edmonton but I’ve never had any issues in Calgary. It actually feels kind of liberating after being re-closeted while working in Japan, even if it isn’t as gay as Van, Toronto or London. Anyway, just thought you’d find that interesting from a randomer on the internet lol

I've used to live on the Esquimalt navy base, and did my bungee jump at the West Ed. i understand the lifestyle of Victoria, it's really the best one in Canada. Now i live in Montreal Gay village and i miss the west coast. I will fly back to Tokyo as soon as the restriction are eased.
