Isn’t he allergic to seafood? I am almost sure that in the masterchef competition he could not eat seafood due to an allergy? Am I incorrect? Maybe I am mistaking him with another British chef.

Maybe he is allergic to fish or certain kinds of seafood. He has lost a lot of weight since the Great British Menu so he probably has gone on a strict diet and had blood and allergy tests, etc. When you are healthy your tolerance levels are greater.
