Can you do a video on the best position when serving plsss...Tq 😁😁
@петърстянов5 жыл бұрын
This totally depends on you and where you want to put the ball. Also where you wan to be after the serve to be ready for the next ball.

Dear Tom. Try putting your pointing finger a bit lower. It will really help on that fh to bh switch.

What is the main point to consider while sending a ball down the line? The distance is smaller. In fact, it is the shortest one. The solution? To increase this distance by hitting the ball as late as possible by hitting it “behind you” (as opposite to “in front of you”). In this way, by using the same technique and the power you do not send the ball in out. And, of course, one hits the ball a bit to the left from its center line.

The point is it is good to swich where you put your attacks to not get predictable and it is easier to put more power and spin if you are well positioned

Pls do how to return such topspin when ball comes on extreme backhand
@TomLodziak5 жыл бұрын
If it comes very wide to your backhand, you need to move your feet and try and play the shot in front of your body. Then you could either block the ball back or counter-topspin.

The only way I can open my bat up enough to do this shot with the topspin I'm looking for, is to switch my grip to having all 4 fingers on the back of the bat. This works great, but has created a habbit where i now automatically goninto this strange forehand grip and I feel is probably going to limit my progression as my matches get faster by slowing my transition from backhand to forehand and back. With standard grip, I simply can't point the bat down the line and still achieve a high topspin return against an incoming topspin ball. Either the ball flies too high off of my bat, or I have to hit the very top or the ball closing my bat angle.

Hey Tom, do you think this is effective for people that are left handed?
@TomLodziak5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I think most players - whether right or left handed - are better at dealing with cross--court balls, as they have returned these much more often in training and matches. So when you play down the line, there is an element of surprise. I have played a couple of lefties who are very good at attacking down the line and it is very hard to defend against.
