Mr. Petty, my heart was crushed the day you went to lie in your field of wildflowers 🎩💐❤️‍🩹. With your boyish good looks, your humility and ability to write stories and poetry that every soul could relate to at one time or another...you were truly gifted. I will be 4ever grateful that I got to live your music. And now your songs 🎵 play on in my heart. Rest poet. One can only hope that you know how much you were loved. 🤍🤍🤍🤍🪽🕊🪽🤍🤍🤍🤍

Under severe pressure from my soon to be employer in 2017, I stood my ground and told them my start date would have to be after Tom Petty played Dallas. I knew the concert would be that special, that wonderful, and may be the last time for my wife to finally see Mr. Petty. Loaded the rental truck by graces of local friends, and drove across several state on cloud 9, making it to the rental house, unloading and started work a day later. Was it worth It? Hell yes, and I'm glad I stood my ground to rock one last time with Tom. RIP, my friend. ♥️♠️

You nailed it, Tom’s songs are very good, of course he had big hits, but the songs that are subtle floor me, the melodies are good, You Tell Me, Swinging, You saw me Coming, easy to play on guitar, I cried when I heard the news he passed! I was lucky I saw the heartbreakers in Oklahoma City and Marsyville Calif, I was so lucky to see them live! I think he was influenced by Bob Dylan, Roget McGuinn, all of Traveling Wilburys! and many others!

This song has a certain feeling of Angst running through it, of a Love Gone Wrong.. Tom's vocal, and his delivery, has a Very Real, and Haunting quality to it that recalls the feelings of Realization, and Final Release of a love that he had thought would endure.. Most everyone has been there, at least Once in their lives, but leave it to Tom Petty to Capture it All in a song.. The chord structure, and the minimal instrumentation are Perfect for the Emotion that he has presented here, and, in the end, it just tugs at your Heart, and most definitely, your Soul... Lary

The release of All of this new material is yet Another Example of what a prolific songwriter Tom Petty really was.. He has given us So Much Great Music over the years and all of these songs from the Wildflowers sessions have allowed us to have a Closer Look at Tom, as a Brother, an Artist, and more importantly, as a Friend.. He was an artist who Mattered, and it has become even more evident as the Extended Version of his Wildflowers dream has come to fruition.. Artists such as this, are so very rare and we remain Forever Greatful.. Thank you Brother... Lary

Saved his best for last. The day I decided to change my life was the day Petty passed away. Tom pulled me out of a very dark place and still going strong in 2021. There's always time to make a change. Life's all about participation, don't let it pass you by. Tom might be gone in the flesh but his music always hits home.

Celebrity’s passing usually doesn’t bother me. I cried when Tom Petty died. His song writing was incredible. What a shame he left so early😞

I was shocked when John Lennon was killed and felt very sad about Robin Williams but I cried when I heard about Tom Petty and still can 7 years later.

Such a great sing-a-long in a massive stadium. Can't you just imagine it? Everyone loving the energy of him/them playing live. Heartbreaking this great song we'll never hear him sing it in concert. 😢😢

I heard this for the first time in November, 2023, listening to XM radio while my wife drove. The song grabbed me outta' the gate and I found the song as soon as we got home. Booted it up on KZbin, turned on my Bose, plugged in my guitar, and sang and played it till I had it down. Whenever I play this for anyone, they always love this song even though they have no idea who's song it is. I can't believe how large the vault that is Tom Petty songs is, and how they bring me so much joy, as a listener, and as one who can perform them....miss ya Tom...you will not be forgotten...or replaced.

What a moving song. Music is one of the few things that can connect us all unconditionally. The sad part is when the music falls silent, people forget that connection. If we could work on that downfall we would make true progress.
