Under severe pressure from my soon to be employer in 2017, I stood my ground and told them my start date would have to be after Tom Petty played Dallas. I knew the concert would be that special, that wonderful, and may be the last time for my wife to finally see Mr. Petty. Loaded the rental truck by graces of local friends, and drove across several state on cloud 9, making it to the rental house, unloading and started work a day later. Was it worth It? Hell yes, and I'm glad I stood my ground to rock one last time with Tom. RIP, my friend. ♥️♠️

I'm very glad that all of these previously unreleased tracks are being pumped out. Many are clearly songs that he did not release due to his perfectionism, but some of them are so damned good that other artists would sell their souls to even create such gems! This is one of them.

You nailed it, Tom’s songs are very good, of course he had big hits, but the songs that are subtle floor me, the melodies are good, You Tell Me, Swinging, You saw me Coming, easy to play on guitar, I cried when I heard the news he passed! I was lucky I saw the heartbreakers in Oklahoma City and Marsyville Calif, I was so lucky to see them live! I think he was influenced by Bob Dylan, Roget McGuinn, all of Traveling Wilburys! and many others!

This song has a certain feeling of Angst running through it, of a Love Gone Wrong.. Tom's vocal, and his delivery, has a Very Real, and Haunting quality to it that recalls the feelings of Realization, and Final Release of a love that he had thought would endure.. Most everyone has been there, at least Once in their lives, but leave it to Tom Petty to Capture it All in a song.. The chord structure, and the minimal instrumentation are Perfect for the Emotion that he has presented here, and, in the end, it just tugs at your Heart, and most definitely, your Soul... Lary

He has given us So Much Great Music over the years and all of these songs from the Wildflowers sessions have allowed us to have a Closer Look at Tom, as a Brother, an Artist, and more importantly, as a Friend.. He was an artist who Mattered, and it has become even more evident as the Extended Version of his Wildflowers dream has come to fruition.. Artists such as this, are so very rare and we remain Forever Greatful.. Thank you Brother... Lary
