Want to SCALE your business? Go here: acquisition.com
Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

W: I got employee of month at a Michelin restaurant after thinking I had lost everything. I found consistency in trading. I picked up running again and fell in love all over. I gained 10lb since quitting drugs and alcohol. I quit smoking with patches and stopped them two days early just to prove I could to myself. I started speaking my mind when I felt uncomfortable (respectfully) and never felt more free.

Why do you like being negative? And also, what makes you get that vibe from this in particular? Or do you just not Alex or his personality? Legit question, not trynna be an ass. Ik it sounds like it, but I'm legitimately curious
@caiden3396
@caiden3396 2 ай бұрын
@@Kyngte1 It's not that I like being negative. It's just that I'm prone to mentioning my criticisms and neglecting to mention my compliments. I get that vibe from him, because he feels to me like he's trying to come off like an aggressive, egotistical business bro type. The problem is those types come off too aggressive and too egotistical. The reason he feels like that is the bro or jock heavy energy he's been emanating in some of his videos lately and he seems to be trying to lean heavier on that along with egotism and aggression. It just turns most people off, though and annoys them rather than persuading or inspiring them, and it's bad PR. If he's trying to appear strong when weak for some reason, it doesn't do that. It just comes off annoyingly aggressive, jocky, and egotistical.
@Kyngte1
@Kyngte1 2 ай бұрын
@@caiden3396 You might need to work on that bro. From years of therapy I can tell you that shit like that starts to affect your view on the world after a while. And you'll start to become a self-fulfilling prophecy of negativity. That road leads to dark places bro, trust me. How long have you been watching him? And have you read any of his books or taken any of his free courses? Not saying this to be an asshole, genuinely curious. On his page he has a few recent videos explaining exactly why he was acting that way and only talking about "business bro" content. In real life he's actually a very stoic reserved person until someone talks about business or working out, which are HIS things ig. But I ask because your description of him is pretty far off. But I'm not here to glaze him. So basically in a recent video and in the skool community, he explained that he tried to narrow his content to focus on only giving business advice because when he did a few polls, that's what people said they wanted. So he strictly did that, and if you know about content marketing, you know you have to sound like your ideal prospect and the people your prospect already admires so that they will resonate with you and see you as an authority. So I'm assuming that's why he seems off. I haven't really noticed a difference so that's why I say I'm assuming. But I respect your opinion so I'm not gone say there isn't a difference either. That's just my 2 cents
