It’s so fascinating, when a high level boxer reviews amateur boxing, the criticism is constructive and generous. When the people of the internet who have never trained in their lives watch professionals put their heart and soul into a fight… the comments become an unreadable cesspool of ad hominem attacks and dispare. Good on you Tony! The world needs some positivity right now.

I think they go too wild with the weight, I mean, it is important, but what's a few pounds?? Now, something like, 10 to 20 or more is ridiculous and should be stopped of course.. comon sense, but stopped just for 3 maybe 5 pounds is ludicrous. Such losing and gaining weight.. especially natural weight.. is unhealthy and can be dangerous, look at models too while at the research and see what can happen to the body.

He's more of an martial arts guy, but John Cusack has some real deal skills. Trained under Benny the Jet and Benny and his brother have been solid boxers forever . I think one of the biggest mistakes a lot of celebrity boxers make is not training to MISS . They are so used to making contact with a pad 100% of the time that when they get in front of a real opponent they over extend and are off balance when they miss.
@musashidanmcgrath Жыл бұрын
It's not even training to miss, but training a solid base, proper footwork, and hip movement. Most people with no boxing ability are usually all over the place because their footwork is a mess.

@craigjomaia2 ай бұрын
While that may be true in many, if not most cases, they aren't training to fight. They are training to look like they can fight in a movie or TV show. Learning the moves far supersedes any actual fight training because you are never going to be swinging to hit someone anyway, you'll be swinging to miss but look like you hit. So, to a certain extent, their training has more in common to learning dance than fighting, all moves to choreography, no actual impact coming or going. That's not to say it can't look great, Jackie Chan for instance was not originally trained in king fu at the Chinese Opera School, he was trained in stage kung fu.

Trouble with every guy thinks he’s a boxer or he can box the reality is that completely not true to be a boxer and to fight takes a lifetime with so many variables and at the end of it you have to be prepared to take a punch as well and that’s when you see if you’ve got what it takes, many haven’t
