This album grabbed me and kicked my ass when I was 17. Then seeing them live changed my perception of what music could actually mean to me. Not just Tool, but all kinds of different music and its ability to leave fingerprints on my heart. I’m 44 now and I still find details in this album that I’ve never heard before. Simply brilliant.

It might be THE best album of all time. Opinions vary. And they followed it with 'Lateralus', which is also an absolute masterpiece. That band stands alone

Yeah, I had Tool in my GOAT list ever since this album. Really ahead of its time. Track 2, Eulogy did it for me. And the album kept getting better!

I too was a teenager when this came out and have been listening to it ever since. And even though I've always known what it's about (both on the surface and deeper levels) - for some reason, whenever I heard the line "turn around and take my hand" - I always pictured it quite innocently as someone facing away from the main character, turning their head back to look at them, and extending their hand backward to take hold of the other's, joining hands as they move forward or something. Even knowing the obvious imagery of the song for some reason it just never connected in my mind with this line. It was not until JUST last year that the lightbulb went off that I've been visualizing this line wrong for nearly 30 years.

Yeah, those were good times! I was lucky to see them on the lateralus tour and it was epic!!!! Gutted I didn't really get into them earlier but I would have been too young!
