Awesome alternatives! You said the rayon in tea bags will shed plastic into your tea. Rayon is a highly processed plant-based fiber, made of wood or bamboo, and has no plastic content. Polyester/polyamide/acrylic are all chemistry lab synthetics, which shed microplastics. Rayon/viscose has been around since the 1900s and is made from plants. It takes lots of water, chemicals, and spinning to break wood down into thread, but it doesn't result in plastic. 🙂

What he doesn't tell you that the rest of the food cannot contain any carbs, sugar or sweetener, cause if it does, your body will prioritize these for fuel over the protein which will negate all the positive effects you are hoping for. Why no carbs, cause the body is lazy and carbs are easily converted to glucose and with a high insulin response that is easily converted into body fat. With protean while some of it is converted to glucose but most of it will be converted into ketones which the body can also run on too and glp1 is a by product of that conversion. The last group is fat, healthy fats are only converted into ketones, no glucose and no insulin response so no body fat. Also fat is hard to convert for the body, so most of it is excreted before the full calorie load is ever exhausted unlike carbs. Which is the complete opposite of what we have always been told. About sweeteners, the insulin response is triggered when sweetness hits your tongue, calorie load don't matter here, we need to prevent any insulin response to fight inflammation or to fight body fat. So the best thing is water soluble fiber + fat and protein and no carbs. Pro tip if you cook (bio) jasmine rice with a teaspoon of (bio) coconut oil and then refrigerate it overnight, when heated again it will act like a water soluble fiber in your guts instead of a carb.
@lars28942 ай бұрын
Very true. The only time soluble fibers are useful is when you buy something like 'clean keto' bread with 12g of carbs. If the ingredients are clean enough - meaning no refined starches or dextrose / dextrin - the 8g of soluble fiber can sufficiently buffer the insulin spike from carbs in the coconut flour and sugar alcohols. Also worth noting that there are varying degrees of functional fibers. Fibers in the form of liquid or syrup - e.g. Tapioca, Cassava, Chicory Root, etc - are significantly worse than minimally processed, powdered variety like psyllium husk. I see so many 'health focused' food companies overusing these liquid fibers and selling overpriced products to consumers who are looking for the better alternative but sadly don't know better and get duped.

I love to follow you and your videos, but I think you need to do a bit more research on GLP1 before you do a video like this. If someone’s GLP1 hormone truly isn’t working, no food will make it work. I’ve been eating super clean for 4 years now and my body would digest an entire meal within an hour and I’d be hungry again as if I hadn’t eaten at all. That fast digestion was spiking my sugar like crazy so Mounjaro has literally saved my life.

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS: 1. How much of each food do you have to eat everyday to get the same amount of Mounjaro, 15mg, per week? 2. Would they all "turn on" that brain receptor that makes you not think about food, or feel satiated faster? 3. Would they slow down your digestion, too? 4. The clickbait titles keep coming. Ozempic does stimulate insulin secretion (which I actually need despite being skinny). But, most of the people who are on it, have already tried improving their diets and getting more exercise, and couldn't quite get where they want to be. Pre-diabetes has a genetic component; the people who have it aren't all making poor food choices and they're not all obese. Most doctors won't prescribe something like Ozempic without suggesting lifestyle changes and waiting to see if the patient's blood sugar drops. I do eat many of the foods Bobby had mentioned in fact more than half of them. But, in all, he can't match the level of knowledge of Mario Kratz or Nicola Guess or Abbey's Kitchen. He's not an endocrinologist or a dietitian, he just watches the same videos many of his viewers do, then tries to profit from having shared the same knowledge.
@dharma__32 ай бұрын
Diabetes isn't genetic, it's environmental/what you eat; however, we do become more insulin resistant with age (all body functions work less efficiently). If it was genetic, it wouldn't be curable with a keto diet.
@cjgooding45122 ай бұрын
Bullshit type 2 diabetes is 100% preventable by proper diet and exercise. There is no genetic factor you eat properly and work out and you will not have pre-diabetes (insulin resistance) or especially full-on diabetes. Period end of story. Ozempic helps people not overeat it makes you not hungry, but you can get the same or better results by eating a primarily high protein lowish-carb moderate fat diet. I'll say it again up the protein percentage of your diet. The goal is to eat as much protein as possible in as few calories as possible if you want to lose weight. 1 g of protein per ideal pound of body weight and then just keep your carbs and fats low as reasonably possible while making sure to hit your protein Target. Very simple stuff you do this and you will win.

@@dharma__3 Do not make negative assumptions about people who are strangers to you. Diabetes is a complex, multi-factorial condition that many people on YT oversimplify. Your liver makes glucose all the time, not just when we eat carbs. Your body doesn't just produce insulin when we eat carbs. Though many people who have elevated blood sugar are overweight and do eat a lot of highly processed foods and have insulin resistance, it's not the case for ALL of them. That small group of people that's left, there's something that's not right about the organs that they were born with. Their condition, hadn't come about as a result of, 1. making poor food choices. 2. eating too many carbs. 3. eating naked carbs. 4. not exercising. 5. needing to lose some weight. 6. not getting enough sleep. 7. being under a lot of stress. 8. having insulin resistance. It's possible that they will realize small improvements through fixing some of those things, but after having done so, their blood pressure and blood sugar will still come in on the high side due to genetics, and thus need the boost from medications in some cases. An irresponsible slob could have lower blood sugar and lower blood pressure than such a person. It isn't fair. It's not as simple as, "Do this, and you probably won't need to be on Ozempic or Metformin anymore". This is why it's important to get personalized advice about complex health conditions and not just rely on people on YT. As for myself, my insulin resistance hadn't gone up as I had gotten older. I just had fasting insulin and c-peptide tests done. My A1C is lower than it was eleven years ago, and I'm the same weight. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for elevated blood sugar. I think you've been watching Ken Berry or Jason Fung. Neither of them are endocrinologists or researchers. Both of them are at a junior level in terms of understanding diabetes, from my perspective. Berry had decided to make up his own equivalent to the ADA, just because, the ADA doesn't officially recommend his favorite diet. That's pretty silly. These people tend to act like they have come up with something novel, that the conventional medical community doesn't want you to know. Or else, they wouldn't get as much attention.

@@dan-qe1tb WRONG. Type 2 diabetes is DEFINITIVELY caused by high blood sugar, insulin and glucose, period. There can be many causes, but it's the same problem. Yes, you can eat "healthy" but still get type 2 diabetes if you consume too many carbs; keep your emotional issues to yourself bc they're irrelevant.

@@dharma__3type 2 diabetes can be treated with a keto diet. Type 1 cannot. The first mention of diabetes is from 1475, do you think people back then had the same enviroment and diet we have today?

I'm trying to stay low carb but noticed the Chick Pea/lentil "pastas" are still very high in carbs. Can you expand on that please? Will the body see this as different than traditional carbs?

I found your protein shake on Amazon. It looks good, but it would take $90 a month for me to have one serving a day not even including the milk I would need to add. I just don’t have that kind of money!

Stop telling people to pick lean protein. They are missing satiating fat which is also healthy. Just eat slightly more. SMH

Can anyone tell me how to thaw berries without them being so darn soggy. I have tried several times and they just never taste right. So, I end up buying fresh for more money.

I just put them in the yogurt frozen. They thaw but don’t get very soggy by the time I eat them.

This post is very concerning. Though I mostly enjoy Bobby’s posts about cost effective healthy alternatives and ingredient awareness, he should stay in his lane. He is not an educated health practitioner and should not be giving advice inferring that you should do this thing vs taking medication prescribed by your doctor. Medical advice is not one size fits all and should be tailored to the individual by a licensed medical professional like a Dietitian or Physician. Everyone is google health advisors these days. Where are your foot notes on peer reviewed evidence based studies to support your claims Bobby? Very disappointed in you right now.

So you believe everything your doctor says? Tell me why if you go to 10 different doctors they will have 10 different opinions? Why is it suggested you get 2 or 3 or doctors opinions for serious surgeries? My point is not all doctors are good and some are outright quacks. Everyone should do their own research on nutrition and weight loss by using both medical sources and non medical sources for comparison.
