Loved Styx back in the day, still like them today but the music is dated for sure. Think I still have my 1st pressing of Hi Infidelity, too. I love it, still. All of my U2 are first pressing as well. Fun to listen to the older vinyl and new remastered LPs. How far technology has come. Love your channel. I share interest in some of your music favs but not all. It’s okay though, I just enjoy listening to your stories. Gave your channel a shoutout tonight on my Amazon review for the plastic sleeves. Hi, Dylan. As for Styx, my favorite record of the band, is Paradise Theater. I have recently bought alot of import vinyl records. Germany, France, Japanese, UK, and the Netherlands. I also bought some imports, one from Bulgaria, one from Brazil and one from Italy. As for the one from Bulgaria, it's Genesis Abacab and get this-- it's out of print. As for the band Genesis, that band was famous for their stadium tours from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. Genesis, had their stadium tour, The Way We Walk 1992--1993. First off, I really like vinyl records much more so than CDs. Though, I do have a CD collection, due to the fact, that vinyl records disappeared from the store shelves in the 1990s, around 1995/1996. Bummer. Now, during Genesis's The Way We Walk tour, the band had 2 CDS, Vol. 1 the Shorts released in 1992 and Vol. 2 The Longs released in 1993. Now, at that time, vinyl records were still available in stores. I looked and looked for those 2 Genesis CDS on vinyl record and I couldn't find them anywhere, not anywhere. We didn't have Internet access yet, so we only had brick and mortar stores in which to shop from. I thought, to myself, that maybe those 2 Genesis live CDS were not available in the US. So, I thought well I at least have them on CD. Though, I really hoped that someday, I'd be able to get those on vinyl record. A little over a month ago, I lucked out bigtime. I shop on Ebay. So, I thought, I'll search for them on Ebay and see if those 2 are available on vinyl record. I found both Vol. 1 The Shorts and Vol. 2 The Longs on vinyl record. I bought both of them. Vol. 1 The Shorts is a Brazil import and Vol. 2 The Longs is an Italy import. Both of the vinyl records are in NM Mint condition and have excellent quality sound. Who knows, maybe these 2 Genesis recordings were only issued in other countries outside the United States? I never found them in stores when both Vols 1 and 2 were released back in 1992 and 1993. As for the France import, that I bought, it's The Beatles Sargent Pepper record. My UK imports, are AC/DC Black Ice, The Beatles Abbey Road, Genesis Seconds Out. My Japanese imports are 3 The Beatles records Second Album, Hard Days Night, and Yellow Submarine. I also have ZZ Top Afterburner, a Japanese import. I have other imports, but too many to mention for now. Keep spinning the vinyl!

I used to have that MAHOGANY RUSH lp back when it was current. I sold it a long, long time ago. Frank Marino is,like myself,a Canadian. I think he's from Toronto and the band had a decent following for a time here in Canada. Yes,he was doing the Hendrix impersonating way before VAUGHAN. That lp has him doing PURPLE HAZE as a finale. Naysayers used to get on him for doing Hendrix. That lp has a blurb on the back taking a swipe at the reviewers who never liked the band. He was still at it in the early 80s. Have no idea if he's still playing.

Excellent video !! Love that Live Frank Marino Album. Funny , the least valuable albums are some of my favorites. lol Like watching your videos and everyones here in the vinyl community. Just did a Top ten Discogs video the other day, really overall I don't give these types of price list much merit. Something goes in and out of fashion, or an artist passes away, even a new batch of pressing can effect prices. Last two years seen prices rise and fall. But will say my top ten, the top five have been pretty stationary over time.

There's some real gems in that list. I own many of them. The Ten Years After is a great LP. Crowbar is another. They were from Canada. Mahogany Rush, another Canadian band. I don't quite get your SRV comparison though, other than SRV covered a few Jimi songs. That Frank Marino album is more like Johnny Winter during his "Captured Live" era and he'd be the first to say that. The first 6 albums by MR are much more psych and my favorites.

I was 13 in part of 1967 and spent my summer playing around with Stocks from a savings of $50 Bucks! I was so cute that the guys at the investment company helped me discover how to make good decisions which resulted in making $500 bucks over the summer. Suddenly music became everything to me; I bought a handsome stereo and over 30,000 albums over the course of about 15 years. When I moved to Oregon I had about 3,000 LPS left in Texas where I'm from and didn't have the pennies to carry them or store them once I'd moved. I GAVE THEM to a Well Known Hippie in the Austin area (Happy Jack,) who in turned gave them to the ROCK ROLL Museum in Austin and which helped them begin their collection. That was about when the Vinyl draught began that has lasted nearly 30 years. ....So I played stuff I could on my guitar, Worked 3 or 4,000 gigs mostly in Northern Oregon and Austin Tx, but...... I stopped a couple years ago. I decided to end the drought and build a Stereo like I use to own, but only difference is my home is about 50 sq ft. and it is JAM PACKED with stuff..... I can't keep it all. So I've been thinking when I have time (later like near to xmas) I'd bring down stuff and maybe if it's stuff you like I can get enough to buy stuff I don't have from you. I'm not looking for riches at all, I'm looking for Music I had 10 copies of once and with my gear make WAV files so I have the ENTIRE Album instead of a Greatest Hit Record. .... to me the meat of the album is the material that wasn't on the 45. anyway :)

I have sealed copies of the Mahavishnu Orchestra Inner Mounting Flames and Birds Of Fire and I guarantee they aren't even worth the $3.99 I paid for them new. I realized back in 80's that people and critics alike hate this catagory but that's why I love.

ok, don't know where you'd find those prices. Just saw that Mahogany Rush Live album on ebay for $106.95!!!. Chet Parker The Hammer Dulcimer on ebay from ~12 to 25 so average $18. Amazon prices are like double of that! Record conventions here in Austin charge 4x internet prices.....so maybe in some store in some unknown town ....maybe...

Great post! Some of my favorite cheapie finds ($3.00 or under), include: Les Dudek - Say No More, Rare Earth - Ecology, Santana- Santana, The Kings - Are Here, Wes Montgomery - Road Song, The Babys - Anthology...and quite a few more! Thanks again!

The Beauty of music is if you love a band or sound no one else is into does it matter just enjoy so you like Styx that's great 90 % of my collection is a soundtrack to my life Ive got some great stuff and some really naff crap but theres a reason for having those albums a place a time a moment, memories. ive been collecting since i was 11 I'm 60 this year and not slowing down on collecting and my listening pleasure.

There’s a lot of great records that sell so cheap . A few that come to mind are bands like Moody Blues Jethro Tull Gentle Giant Jefferson airplane It’s crazy when those albums sell for less than a Michael Bolton or Amy Grant album

There is such a want for certain groups that a lot of really good music is still passed over. I feel it goes with not so much the music as group think .

Damn that was funny, cornerstone was my favorite album when I was 12. And I've been collecting for years before that. But that was really funny dude, made me laugh pretty hard.

Dylan,my man, when I was a pup I saw Styx in 1976 or 1977 they we're MASSIVE in the midwest(I'm a Michigander) they were warm up I believe for Ted Nugent, they lit it up like a Roman candle, I too fell into their grasp as a 17 yr old. I broke the spell, and I may have 1 of their albums, I got your back .Great call on the Frank Marino album, saw him in 1974 .Too much whiskey and a strobe light with him 5 feet away,it didn't end well.Cured me of whiskey, but not Frank. Nice Job "D".
