I’ve never been to prison. Been in jail a couple times. No more than a couple days. Spent four days at the county farm in the 90’s. That’s when decided I wanted to stay free. It’s wild you talked about the slow money. I went to work as a dishwasher at a nice restaurant. Wasn’t making great money but I was eating good and staying out of trouble.

I was a nurse at Stateville in Joliet IL. It was so common when a new inmate came into the Northern Reception Center side. If he''s the type to start talking loud and running his mouth sure enough a few days later he is brought into medical with a broken jaw. He will then be sent out and return from the hospital with his mouth wired shut for 4-6 weeks. I didn't have to be an inmate to learn to shut the hell up and be cool and don't talk too much. I'm not there as a nurse now, but I miss it a bunch more than I thought I would.

Keep your circle small. Observe your surroundings before approaching any situation. Mind your business, keep it moving, and pay attention to the new slang words being used, this could save your life. Most of all though...Don't trust anybody until you've really done your homework on that person. Just stay on point and try to think three steps ahead before making moves

That whole “game” stuff is absolutely true. I was in PCF for a little 1 1/2 piece and some dude befriended me for 3 months, like I had no suspicions about this dude at all, but it was just long enough for him to figure out the combo to my lock box and stole Ev-Rey-Thing. I got most of it back and got dude to relocate with the help of a few of my tattoo buddies that don’t play around, but the point is take everything people say with a grain of salt, cause people will get you to believe they are anyone you want them to be for as long as it takes when all they have is time to kill.

I have spent over 20 years in prisons , in the South of England (uk) and I will say that one thing I will never forget is that very first day! Wasn't too bad as I knew loads of good people who I was on road with . Always be open and approachable, because that goes a long way. Never borrow, steal or lend ! You'll be cool.

I would say in my experiences that the rules are much different depending on where you do time. I served 3 years (01-04) at PCI in Orient, Oh, it’s a medium security prison. I also served 3 years in the Ohio State Penitentiary (Youngstown, Ohio) which is a maximum security facility. Time was much different at these two locations.
