They are going on 12 years with the 3.5 ecoboost and they keep perfecting them. I wouldn't hesitate to get one if I wanted a new truck. The 2.7s are supposedly so far, are very good. Ford will perfect the ecoboost and are pretty dam good at making them . The 2.7s are going on thier 7th year.

My 2003 F150 5.4 2wd at 396,000. All original powertrain and runs silent. I got this at 322,000 and the only problem has been a heater hose, a 5 minute repair. This was an electrical contractor truck. It's in good shape. 03/08/2022. Now at 398,000. I just replaced spark plugs and the original coil packs and an oil change. Runs amazing. 05/28/22 400,700 miles and good as ever.

Congratulations, I remember when in 99 that body style came out and everyone was wondering if the 5.3 would be a high mileage motor. Gm trucks were a big deal when I was a kid in the 90s I grew up in Genesee County Michigan I was about 4 miles out of flint. So gm products I had about 9 family members working for gm and a bunch retired. It was god family gm trucks or hot rods. I talked my brother n law into buying a 2001 GMC Sierra with 243,000 he was apprehensive but it was only 1700$ he had the truck 4 years with 400,000 something now. I hope you get to 1million plus

@Deveak
@Deveak 3 ай бұрын
When it finally goes, rebuild it. Inline 300s are the gold standard of truck engines. It’s equal or in most cases superior to most diesel engines. 700k is possible with good maintenance, a million if you’re religious about it. A mild engine flush is a good idea and make sure to keep up on coolant, water pumps etc. timing gears should never need touched, a huge reliability boon. Also clean the throttle body out and replace the pcv.

@@oldkicker8958 I sold my '18 F150 with the 2.7 turbo and Tacoma with the 3.5 for a super low mile '14 F150 w/ 3.7 and 3:73 diff's, its better than both the latter newer trucks IMO. I cant help but think if they kept this screaming 3.7 {it aint slow at all, tows great too} and on the 700lb lighter AL trucks with that 10 speed nobody would want the hassle of twin turbo's. I bet the 3.3 is good with the 10r80 as well.

My 1999 f 150 4.6 has 209,000+ miles. I am the third owner, my brother bought it from the original owner in Florida and brought it to California so no snow winters. The truck has never even towed a jet ski and it still runs like a sewing machine. The only money that I have put into it besides maintenance is some front end suspension work. My mechanic told me that it is worth keeping even if it needs some transmission work down the road.

05 Silverado 2500 HD work truck w/ 6.0 litre V8. I bought this truck in 2010 with 82,000 mi on it at an auction for $10,000 primarily to serve as my trailer pulling equipment hauling workhorse. She now has 318,000 on her with the original motor in transmission. And let me tell you, while I take good care of my equipment, this truck has been WORKED. Before this I got 243,000 plus some change out of my Dodge Dakota with a 4 cylinder, I called it my Singer sewing machine engine and after that many miles the wrist pins came loose allowing the pistons to hammer a couple of plugs flat but it went until it couldn't, no complaints from me, it served well.. I'll keep the Ram going as well until it just won't. Thumbs up on an informative researched channel.

I just recently sold my 06 f-150 that had just shy of 300k on it.... and I was lazy on the oil changes...... the transmission made it to 260k before finally going out and when I took it in to be rebuilt the shop was amazed because they said it still had the orginal fluid and filter from the factory.... had never been touched. Currently In my driveway is my 04 Silverado with 265k on it.....and I swear it's been close to a year since I changed the oil in the thing.... and it gets driven 150 miles a day. And just a month ago i picked up a 2010 f-150 platinum with the 5.4 3v with 250k on it...... but beat believe I will stay on top of oil changes on the Ford. I cant believe how expensive these trucks are now days. I just bought a 2015 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 5.0 V8 with 113K and it was still 35 grand. It is really clean, like new clean not a stain anywhere but dang that's expensive. Its a beautiful truck, I did some looking around and everything I saw was around the same price for year and make/model so it wasn't like they over priced it, they're just crazy expensive these days. I hope I can get over 300k on it because I'm going to have to drive it for a long time to justify the price tag.

I just saw a review from a 2011 ford f150 ecoboost motor and he turned 400,000 miles in it in 2020. He said coil packs were the only troublesome component he dealt with. The ecoboost issues typically stem from delaying oil changes from the manufacturers recommendations and/or using the incorrect oil viscosity.

@@5litreho it's true sometimes they can be overpriced, which all depends on the condition of the vehicle, but I don't think they're over rated, I've seen most Toyotas run in Southern Africa, mostly in really tough environments with less maintance, and they keep running, I think they're rated accordingly. So I'll keep driving my Camry and my 4runner, and I bought them used for a very good price. If you like the Ford, keep driving it!

@@5litreho I agree, somewhat. The older Tundras with the 4.7 are not overrated and overpriced especially since you can get some serious mileage (million) you don't see Ford and Chevy going that high.
