Congratulations, I remember when in 99 that body style came out and everyone was wondering if the 5.3 would be a high mileage motor. Gm trucks were a big deal when I was a kid in the 90s I grew up in Genesee County Michigan I was about 4 miles out of flint. So gm products I had about 9 family members working for gm and a bunch retired. It was god family gm trucks or hot rods. I talked my brother n law into buying a 2001 GMC Sierra with 243,000 he was apprehensive but it was only 1700$ he had the truck 4 years with 400,000 something now. I hope you get to 1million plus

When it finally goes, rebuild it. Inline 300s are the gold standard of truck engines. It’s equal or in most cases superior to most diesel engines. 700k is possible with good maintenance, a million if you’re religious about it. A mild engine flush is a good idea and make sure to keep up on coolant, water pumps etc. timing gears should never need touched, a huge reliability boon. Also clean the throttle body out and replace the pcv.

i’m at 412k on an 04 F-150 with the old 4.6L. still gets 18mpg no leaks. Original owner. I just can’t see the value in getting a new one just yet….maybe when 25mpg is normal i consider a new f150. If you take care of your vehicles they will take care of you.

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 extended cab 4x4 with 153,500 miles. I bought it with 92,000 back in 2011. I have replaced the oil pressure sensor, of course the plugs and wires, the fuel tank straps (rusted away), the entire brake system (lines completely rusted away and started blowing out) and replaced the lines with stainless and that sucked. Now I'm considering getting a new truck later this year.

I had a 97 Ford with over 450,000 miles on it when totaled. Passenger side window was broken forever. Changed oil every 6,000 miles. Used wix or autocracy filters and oil stays clean. Probably more miles than odometer said. Always ran bigger tires, lost 7 miles per hundred. Speedometer ran slow.

I just saw a review from a 2011 ford f150 ecoboost motor and he turned 400,000 miles in it in 2020. He said coil packs were the only troublesome component he dealt with. The ecoboost issues typically stem from delaying oil changes from the manufacturers recommendations and/or using the incorrect oil viscosity.

On online mechanic said the biggest problem he sees with the Ecoboost F150's is people driving them too gently and the wastegates start to get stuck. Drive 'em hard enough to use the turbo a few times a week at least and it'll probably be fine.

My Truck still runs like when I bought it in 2013, I'm going to keep going and see what it will do, I take care of it and always changed my oil on time. Has new Fuel Pump, New fuse box, water pump and brakes all around, suspension has all been done in 2023. Only thing I hate is the rear window defrost that never really works like it suppose to, I by passed the rear connection and my side heated mirrors work now.

Most Toyotas hit these high miles with the original engine and transmission, very reliable if well maintained!

Most Toyotas are over priced and over rated. I'll sticking with the best selling trucks in America, Ford
@yx59794 жыл бұрын
@@5litreho it's true sometimes they can be overpriced, which all depends on the condition of the vehicle, but I don't think they're over rated, I've seen most Toyotas run in Southern Africa, mostly in really tough environments with less maintance, and they keep running, I think they're rated accordingly. So I'll keep driving my Camry and my 4runner, and I bought them used for a very good price. If you like the Ford, keep driving it!

Notice on craigslist toyota vehicles are becoming scarcer due to word of mouth reliability and thanks to scotty kilmer. I've been following craigslist for years and noticed the difference also prices going up
@techevar4 жыл бұрын
@@5litreho I agree, somewhat. The older Tundras with the 4.7 are not overrated and overpriced especially since you can get some serious mileage (million) you don't see Ford and Chevy going that high. But I agree with you when it comes to the new Toyota trucks. They seem to have kept that reputation. I don't believe they build them like that anymore. I'll take a new F-150 over a new Tundra any day.
