You need to specify more frequently that the abuse of sugar is unhealthy, from refined sugar. Becouse there is some guy out of here that has some low sugar problem in his brain... they think that all sugar is bad, so the fruit too . Just watching your video.. they come up with those ideas. lol

Yes I'm an addict, but not to sugar on its own. I dont think anyone would crave a big bowl of sugar. The addiction is to a carb/fat combination. Then once in the system the sugar does its harm. Either that or put it in liquid form like smoothies or fizzy drinks

I dumped sugar 2 months ago, and the difference is drastic...no more joint pain, no more swollen feet/ankles, no more sinus headaches, no more constant fatigue--a new person! The best part is the relief from constant cravings--pie/coffee cake/ dinner rolls/ filled donuts/sweet tea, etc. I look so much better, smaller nicer clothes that fit right, and more energy and positivity..

Whilst I haven't 100 percent cut refined sugars (I'm sure I still get plenty of sugar in my chocolate and a few others) I did about 4 weeks ago cut sugar from my daily coffee and replaced it with a dash of cinnamon. Already I noticed my weight has gone down from hovering around 94-96 and as of today it's 88.8kg and whilst i didn't take a waist measurement i'm sure my waist line seems smaller.

This man is the boss. I kicked sugar a year ago. I’ll never go back. Trying to lose weight on sugar diet was near impossible. On keto I dropped weight and kept it off. I’m not a fitness exercise fanatic (I do enough walking and cycling) but it was hard work to keep weight down while addicted to sugar even walking and cycling 17 miles per day. Now my weight stays off. It was a small and initially uncomfortable transition but after my body adjusted to it, the benefits became immediately apparent.

I used to be addicted to sugar. The joke at work was that whenever someone retired, I always got a corner piece of the cake with diabetic coma frosting, including the colored frosting flower, and the leftover ring of frosting around the outside of where the cake was. Now I watch videos like this over and over in order to ensure that I don't have a relapse. Triglycerides have started to go down a little, LDL remains higher than I'd like it, but HDL is higher than it has ever been (even including those unfortunate 10 years I was taking satans to lower cholesterol - a whole 'nother story as they say), and hba1c has dropped from 5.9 to 5.1. The best time to give up sugar is 20 years ago. The second best time is now.

Caries - cavities in the teeth START from the inside not outside... see #2 mineral depletion. The body takes some minerals from the bones to cope with excess sugar in the blood, I think all the bones not just teeth. Maybe osteoporosis is bcz of excessive sugar & grain, not just inadequate intake of calcium.

True. I had a huge health scare and I had to finally change my habits. If you purchase anything packaged, look at the labels. Almost everything that comes in a box or packaged, has sugar and often as a second ingredient. People think that sugar is just scrose (table sugar) but sugars are also: fructose, lactose, and others. And fructose is even more harmful than dextrose (not so abundant). Sugar is also: maple syrup, honey, fruit sweeteners. Sugar is being linked to inflammation, cardiovascular disease, dementia, hypertension and almost all things.

In one video, Dr. Ekberg explains how there are levels of ketosis. It's not an on or off switch. What level of ketosis you are at, depends on the number of net carbs you are consuming and when you are consuming them. Some individuals benefit from a high level of ketosis, such as those with severe diabetes. Others who have always had a relatively healthy life (those who have never smoked, drank sodas/energy drinks, rarely consume fast food), do not need to cut carbs as much. However, Dr. Ekberg does remind us in that same video, that for thousands of years our ancestors would primarily consume a diet of high fat and moderate protein. It's not until the past 1,000 years, and especially the past 100 years, that technology has allowed humans to create carb-rich foods.

@@PowersPlays97 The terrible thing is it ISN'T ignorance on the part of the manufacturers. All they care about is profit, so make products as cheaply as possible, addictive as possible, and find every weasely, misleading way to jump on health bandwagons and lie on the labels. And of course, governments work for corporations, not us, so they have no incentive to put out accurate information.

Wonderful information. Agree totally. I have worked as a holistic dr. my whole life. I started as Dr. of Naprapathy as young and went on education as you are now. I’m proud you are Swede, and better up you moved to the USA. It’s good to remind all this. I’m 68 years old and working in this profession since I was 20. I retired myself when I turned 60. Thank you for all those videos. Very good reminder for even a professional person like myself.

Really excellent video. I saw a video about a party for children in a cancer ward - every single thing available to eat was the very worst of sugary empty calorie crap. So sad to see such utter ignorance of what they needed!! I’m sugar free now for 7 months, I’ve lost loads of weight and feel fantastic. But I really notice my mental clarity is greatly improved. And I certainly don’t have any food cravings

The food rationing during WW2, including sugar rationing, really improved the health of most people in the UK and North America. Now, we all have to do our own form of self-imposed rationing if we want to stay healthy. Just stay away from the middle of the supermarket, where all the processed food is located.

11:56 It's so disgusting, infurating and sad. I was one of those cases. Growing up in an extremely ignorant family my diet has been disastrous all the way up to my mid teens when I started informing myself a little bit. I could easily drink 2-4 glasses of Coca Cola everyday when I was an early teenager. And I used to eat all kinds of garbage fast food and processed stuff a lot. I'm currently 20 and have quitted sugar entirely and also started fasting for all its incredible benefits. But I'm still a long way to feel truly good since I've suffered from all sorts of pains and lack of energy my whole life. I truly don't know how I didn't become obese, I was always skinny fat somehow. I wouldn't be surprised if that aberration of a diet that I had pretty much almost all my life caused some permanent damage in my body. Anyway, thank you so much for everything you do Dr. You are literally saving lives with all this vast amount of precious information.

@@sabrinad839 Sugar IS a carbohydrate (glucose+fructose), and all carbohydrates cause the problems Dr. Ekberg described. The only difference between them is the glycemic index, wich is how long it takes for your body to turn that carbohydrate into blood glucose, but all carbohydrates will raise your insulin levels and eventualy, if eaten too much and frequently, will lead to insulin resistance. I always had difficulty in gaining weight, you and me are probably very insulin sensitive, so we can eat more carbohydrates (maybe 50g-100g/day) without any long term problems. Still, if you're eating it, better choose the ones that are more nutrient dense, like brown rice and whole flour, since they have more vitamins, minerals and fiber. White rice and flour is pure carbohydrate, so, just "empty calories".
